Guest Designing for Cut It Up Challenge

Cheerio friends!  Today, I'm happy to be sharing a card as guest designer on the Cut It Up Challenge Blog.  My project was chosen as one of the "Top Cuts" back in September and thus gave me the opportunity to guest design for a future challenge.  So, here I am today, creating for the newest challenge #323, "This Makes Me Smile".

Well, the simple answer to "what makes me smile", is that I love working with dies!  Especially vintage-y ones!

This darling, retro looking Lovely Layers Vintage Reindeer from Honeybee Stamps most certainly brings a smile to my face.  I purchased the dies just before Christmas and made up a few of them, but they never made it to a card front until now.

The Greetery's Boxwood Heart framed this deer nicely, with some added flowers from Spellbinders.  A layered pair of hearts adds to the sentiment.

Thanks so much to Larelyn and the Cut It Up team for inviting me to guest design for them.  I enjoy playing along with your challenges!
I do hope you'll all stop by Cut It Up and join in on their challenge.  I'd love to know what makes you smile!

Thanks for stopping by!

Frida Loves Frosty ~ Double D Challenge

February is celebrated as the LOVE month.  I LOVE February because my daughter was born on Valentine's day, 31 years ago!  Double D is starting a new challenge using the theme of "HEARTS", so this challenge came super easy to me.

I pulled out an older Stampingbella stamp called Frida Loves Frosty.  I've always adored this sweet Tiny Townie image.

I colored the image with the lightest Copic colors I could find in my marker bucket.  The stenciled hearts on my card are a little more subtle, but definitely visible.

Nothing like a CAS card to start the year off.

I do hope you'll play along with Double D Challenge.
Here is the inspiration board to help you get started:

Enjoy your February!

Truly, Madly, Deeply ~ Spellbinder January 2022 Card Kit of the Month

Good morning friends~  I've got five cards to share with you today, that I made using the Spellbinders Card Kit of the Month.

This month's "Truly, Madly, Deeply" Card Kit includes a 6x6 paper pad, clear stamps, an adorable die set, tons of embellishments, and more!

For this card, I used a number of the preprinted die cuts included in the set.  The little heart sprig in the bottom right corner was made using some of the dies in the kit.

I love the warm and cheerful colors that they used.  The gold accents add a touch of elegance to each card.

This paper is by far, one of my favorites in the paper pack.  I wish I had a whole stack of it!  You'll also find a whole sheet of these beautifully, glittered sentiments and hearts.

There's a sheet of banner sentiment stickers like the one I used on this card, with an array of sayings.

I used the leftover bits of paper from the previous cards to make this easy card.  The sequins included in the kit make the perfect finishing touch!

The kit also includes card bases with envelopes, two different types of adhesives, die cuts and several sticker options.

This is such an amazing value for all the supplies you'll receive.

Candy Hearts for anyone! ~ DRU

Happy New Year to each and every one of you!  As we say goodbye to 2021, I look forward with hope to what 2022 will bring.  My hope is that you all are healthy and find much joy in the days and months ahead.
Dies R Us is ringing in the new year with a new challenge and new challenge themes!  Some months it will be "Anything Goes" and other months it will be following the holidays and seasons.  Next month the challenge theme will be Valentines/Love so you can get a head start on those lovey~dovey cards!!

This month's challenge however, is "Anything Goes".
I've been a bit slack in the craft room lately as my son and daughter-in-love came home for Christmas.  It's been almost two years since we've seen them, so I was so very thankful to have them home.  Needless to say, that my design team projects are woefully behind so today's card is CAS.

These Candy Hearts from Lawn Fawn were all that I needed for this quick and easy card.

I did a wee bit of water coloring and paint splattering on the background, otherwise no explanation needed.  ;0)

I hope you'll visit the Dies R Us Challenge Blog for more inspiration and join in on the fun.  There's always a gift card to the store for the randomly selected prize winner.

YOU are AWESOME!

Good morning friends.  I'm popping in with a sweet card that I made for a sweet friend.

The colors fit perfectly with the Sunday Stamps challenge.

My dear friend Marcia gifted me with this cute Penny Black Bundled Buddies stamp and I couldn't wait to make her a card to let her know how AWESOME she is.
The smile on this little one feeding her little bird friend warms my heart!

Stamping friends are the best!  Thank you my dear friend.

One Word Sentiment

I recently found a new challenge called the Alphabet Challenge
Every other Friday at 9:00 am, they set a new challenge using the letters from the alphabet with a theme for each one.
This week the letter is "O" and it stands for "One Word Sentiment".  Interesting and challenging!  Right?
I pulled out some older stamps and dies for this one.  I feel like I get so caught up in having to have all the newest stamps from so many amazing companies, that I neglect using my older supplies that I've enjoyed in the past.

So for this card, I used a postage stamp background from PTI and added the "LOVE" die from MFT Stamps, "LOVE Centerpiece" that I cut out of some music print paper that I've had in my stash for a long time.  I decorated each letter using stamps from WPlus9's "Fresh Cut Florals", an old favorite of mine.

I hope you like today's card.  I encourage you to pull out some of your older supplies and give them some love.

I'll also be adding this to the following challenges:
