House Mouse Eat Blueberries

Good morning friends ~ I'm popping in with a quick post of a card I made for the House Mouse & Friends Monday Challenge.

These little guys and this challenge have captured my heart!

I printed the image that I found online on my Canon printer and colored these little fellas just like the colors I found online; except for the ground I colored brown instead of green.  Their blueberry stained mouths are just too much!!

I added a few die cut blueberries that I made using an older Spellbinders die set.

I'll be entering this card into the following challenges:

Think Pink ~ Mixed Media Monday

I saw pink and thought of you.
Good morning crafty friends ~ I have a pretty pink entry in my art journal to share with you today.  It all started with this beautiful background paper from Spellbinders Flea Market Finds Florals Palette

I was struck by the bold pink flowers and vines cascading across the paper.

I started the process by using a Brick Stencil and a craft spatula, applying Translucent Distress Texture Paste over the stencil all around the border of the page.  Once that dried I added Picket Fence Distress Paint over the top.  Using a damp paper towel, I wiped the paint off the brick, allowing the paint to settle between the bricks like mortar.  I love how the colors of the printed paper show through the translucent bricks, with a faint white detail between them.

In Focus:
Using a Tim Holtz Specimen die, I created the butterfly slide, adding stamped images from Cathe Holden's Sign Here stamp set.  The Delicate Dogwood die cut flower is from Poppystamps.  I colored it using Copic markers and stamped it with a script stamp.

I added some ephemera pieces from Flea Market Finds Coat Check Miscellany and Meadow Lark Miscellany, after distressing the edges of each piece with Walnut Stain Distress Oxide Ink.  See those pretty vellum flowers with gold details??  Those are from Pinkfresh Studio Garden Bouquet Washi.

I added some stitched lines to the left side of the page that was from an old rub-on, but I messed it up when I was painting and rubbing the bricks, so I covered them with a strip of glitter washi tape.  I love how this page turned out.  In fact, I'm tickled PINK about it!!

I hope you like it too.

Here's a list of products I used today:

Painting A Beautiful Day ~ ScrapbookPal

We are in the midst of repainting the trim, the ceiling and the walls in our dining room. It's been quite a long task, mostly because I'm having a hard time focusing on the inside of the house when I want to be outside when the weather is nice.  It doesn't help that my craft room is always calling my name! It reminded me that I have Spellbinders Paint Your World Dies sitting in my craft room, just aching to be used.

I created two sweet cards for you, using Spellbinders Artful Tulip, that can be found at ScrapbookPal.

For the first card, I used Pinkfresh Studio Nested Arches to create the focal point, over an A2 sized card panel cut from barnwood printed paper, that I found in my scrapbox.

On the top arched layer, I blended on Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide Ink and then added some ink splatters using a Ranger Ink Water Brush.

I assembled the Spellbinders Artful Tulip, adding silver mirror cardstock to the band of the paintbrush.  I added some extra flowers from Spellbinders Country Road Garden Builder, in a random pattern along the brush as well.  A bit of string around the handle of the paintbrush finished this card off nicely.

The sentiments on both cards are from Spellbinders Tiered Tray Sentiments.  I love how you can mix and match all the Spellbinders products so seamlessly.

All these products can be found at ScrapbookPal:

Sunflower ~ Double D Challenge

Hello friends ~  Double D Challenge is starting a new challenge this week and the theme is "Sunflowers".

But first, I want to announce the winner of my giveaway from the Altenew Collaboration Challenge from August 2nd.
Congratulations Darlene!!!  You're the lucky winner!  I will also reach out to you to let you know.

Now onto my card:

I love sunflowers, especially in my paper crafting.  The only hurdle I faced with this challenge, was deciding which sunflower I was going to use.

I chose to use the adorable Daisy Mouse stamp from Spellbinders.

I stamped the image onto Neenah Solar White cardstock and colored the image using Copic markers.  I let my Brother Scan N' Cut do the fussy cutting, then mounted it over a Spellbinders Fluted Classic Circle.

I hope you enjoyed today's card as much as I enjoyed making it.

Pinkfresh Studio Peony Fantasy ~ ScrapbookPal

Hey there, crafty friends!  There are so many new products that are coming into the ScrapbookPal shop, and I recently had the opportunity to work with these wonderful products from Pinkfresh Studio.

Let me introduce you to Pinkfresh Studio Peony Fantasy!  What gorgeous florals, right??  I made two cards for you today simply because I couldn't decide which colors I liked best.

Here's how I made them:

I started by hot foiling the Pinkfresh Studio Peony Fantasy Hot Foil Plate onto multiple A2 sized smooth white card panels, using the Spellbinders Glimmer Hot Foil System and four different colors of Spellbinders Hot Foil.

Next, I pulled out some of my favorite colors of Distress Oxide Inks and added color using the Peony Fantasy Stencils and the Ranger Ink Foam Blending Tool.

As you can see I made two panels.  One using cool tones and one in warm tones.

I cut the finished flowers out using the coordinating Peony Fantasy Die.  I love how easy Pinkfresh Studio makes it so easy to cut all the flowers out at once!  As you can see in the photo, I also cut one panel out that remained uncolored.

Next, I cut two white card panels using the Spellbinders Infinity Punch & Pierce Plate and mounted them to A2 sized card bases and then played around until I was happy with the design.

The sentiments are from Pinkfresh Studio Foiled Sentiments.  These are a great time saver and wonderful to have on hand.

These cards look like they took a lot of time to make, but they really came together very quickly!

I hope you've enjoyed todays project and that you're inspired to try your hand at hot foiling and stenciling.  Pinkfresh Studio has so many beautiful designs to choose from.

Here's a list of products I used today, that can be found at ScrapbookPal:

Double D & Altenew Collaboration Challenge

Good morning friends~ I'm tickled pink to be joining in on a collaboration challenge with Altenew, along with the entire Double D Challenge design team!  This is truly a challenge you won't want to miss, as there are multiple prizes to be won.  You'll find more details at the end of my post.
The theme for Double D Challenges is "Stencils".

We were generously "gifted" the choice of one of the Build-A-Garden collections to work with, so I chose Build-A-Garden:  Morning Asters.

Each Build-A-Garden collection includes stamps, dies, stencils and a mini blending brush.  I used colors from Altenew's Spring Bouquet Crisp Dye Ink Mini Cube Set to stamp and stencil the flower colors.  I splattered on a bit of the Magenta colored ink over top of the flowers and then die cut them out using the coordinating dies.

I cut the white background using the Mix and Match Frames Die Set to create the focal point, stamping the sentiment in the center and then attaching the flowers over the frame.  This was then mounted to an A2 sized card front with a panel of yellow gingham printed paper, to bring out the yellow in the centers of the flowers.

You can find all the products I've listed below at Altenew
