Hidden Message ~ THANKS

****This is a pre-scheduled post****
I will be away from blogging for a period of time while I deal with the unexpected loss of my dad.  Thanks for your love and prayers. ~ Hugs, Birgit

We're nearing the end of October but there's still time to take advantage of the awesome sale on all Royal Sundance products at Cut Cardstock.  Today's project features a hidden die cut message using these wonderfully textured cardstocks.

Here's a snapshot of the products I used today:
I started by creating two A2 size, top folding card bases using 80# Royal Sundance Linen cardstock in both Natural and Bright White.
I also cut two A2 size panels using the same linen cardstocks  and stamped this beautiful Painted Rose image from Altenew onto each panel using a Misti to line them up exactly.

Using the Bold Alphabet Dies, cut the words Thank You through each of the stamped panels using tape to hold the dies together.  Cut the letters four more times out of 80# Neenah Solar White Classic Crest Carstock.

Adhere the Linen panels to the cardbases using Score Tape, then glue the blank letters into the negative spaces using Tombow Mono Multi-Purpose Liquid Glue.  The added layers will give dimension to the finished cards.
For the final step, glue the stamped Bright White letters onto the Natural cardstock and the stamped Natural letters onto the Bright White cardstock.  This gives you a cohesive image on the card fronts but mixing up the colors of the Linen Cardstocks.

I added some Clear Droplets to the finished cards.  Look how pretty!

I hope you're inspired by today's project.  You can find all the latest updates and inspiration on the Cut Cardstock Facebook Page and be sure to sign up for the CCS Newsletter so you'll be among the first to be notified about upcoming sales and discounts.  There's always great deals to be found at Cut Cardstock!

Christmas Candle Light

****This is a pre-scheduled post****
I will be away from blogging for a period of time while I deal with the unexpected loss of my dad.  Thanks for your love and prayers. ~ Hugs, Birgit

Good morning~  Elizabeth Craft Designs is having a new designer's challenge starting today and the theme is Christmas.  They have a boat load of wonderful new dies for winter!  I used two of them on my project today.

Let's get started:
I inked the center of a piece of A2 sized white Soft Finish Cardstock with a bit of Tumbled Glass Distress Ink.
I cut some of the smallest Snowflakes out of white Soft Finish Cardstock and attached them, using glue only in the centers so the flakes would have some movement.
Next I cut this lovely candle called Festive Glow out of white Soft finish cardstock and again, added color using Distress Inks.  The Festive Glow die set has a beautifully detailed overlay.  I covered the Soft Finish Cardstock with Double Sided Adhesive before running it through my die cutting machine.  After removing the negative spaces and the release sheet, I added some Cool Diamond Silk Microfine Glitter and assembled the candle.

It's so pretty and sparkly in real life.

If you haven't seen the new line of Christmas dies, you can find them HERE.  I promise they don't disappoint!

Here's your chance to win a $20 Gift Certificate to the ECD store.  There's three of them up for grabs!  Pop by the ECD blog to see how the other designers were inspired and leave a comment to win.  It's that easy!

Two Cards.... Two Challenges

Good morning ~  It's not very often I get to post on a Saturday and I really should be outside painting our house but I'm popping in real quick to post two cards that I made for challenges this week.  If I don't post them now, I'll miss the deadline and that always seems to happen to me. So here I am with two cards for two different challenges.

The first card is for the Make It Monday Challenge.  Dawn has us creating sentiment windows.  Her cards are always so inspiring and beautiful, I just couldn't let this challenge pass by!

I used Holiday Greens, Spruce & Sprigs and a sentiment from Happiest of Holidays.

My next card is for the Merry Monday Christmas Challenge using their sketch and this darling image from Art Impressions Sparkle & Cheer.

I'll also be entering one of these cards into the following challenges:

One Die Four Ways

Good morning friends~  I've got 4 cards for you today using just one die.  What a great way to extend the use of your dies!

The Frantic Stamper Dresser Card Panel Die is so dalring used as it's intended.
But here are some other ways to use this die:
I used the die that's used to make the top ledge of the dresser as a clothes line pole and hung those sweet little dresses in the set out to dry.

There are two rectangle dies in the set so I used them to make a frame and added those darling little baby embellishments that are also included in the set to the bottom.  The baby embellishments are colored using copics.  You could also use this frame to create a shaker card and use the little embellishments as shaker elements.  That little peanut in the frame is a picture of my very first grand child, due in May 2018.  Just had to share my joy with you!

For my final card, I used the die elements to create a rolling tool chest.  I cut the chest out using the smaller rectangle and added four of the large drawers and used the trim piece to cut silver metalllic carstock for the trim on the drawers.  I had these old tool stickers from Mrs. Grossman's that fit perfectly in the drawers.

So there you have it!  Four cards using one die!

I hope you're inspired to look at the dies you have and think of different and unique ways to use them.

Sentimental Succulents

Good morning crafters~  This month at Cut Cardstock they are having a sale on all their Royal Sundance Cardstocks.  Have you seen or tried their Linen cardstock?  It has a wonderful texture and is just perfect to show off your stamping.  I tried to capture the detail of the cardstock in the photo's but my photography skills are very limited but believe me when I say the detail is exquisite and is great for any project from elegant to casual.

Here's a snapshot of products I used today:

I started by cutting an A2 size panel using 80lb. Royal Sundance Linen in Natural.  I also cut a 1" strip of POW Glitter Paper in the color of Cricket and attached it to the left side of the linen panel using Score-Tape.  I adhered the entire panel onto an A2 sized cardbase using 110lb. Neenah Solar White Classic Crest Cardstock.  This cardstock is super sturdy and perfect for card bases.

I stamped the Simply Succulents from Pink Fresh Studio onto the linen and wasn't too fussy about getting full coverage.  I really wanted the linen to show well on this card.

Be sure to visit Cut Cardstock to find all kinds of great deals on all your card stock needs.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Hello Pumpkin

Hello friends~  I've got a fun fall card for you today using Elizabeth Craft Designs dies and stamps.

Here's how I made it:
Create a large moon and sky background on a piece of A2 sized White Soft Finish Cardstock using distress Inks.  I used a large Stitched Circle to make a mask for the moon.  Splatter with white craft paint and set it aside to dry.

I die cut the Pumpkins out of white Soft Finish Cardstock and added color using distress inks and then assembled the pumpkins.

I cut the Iron Fence out of Rich Black Soft Finish cardstock and the Ghost out of polka dotted vellum.  I stamped a sentiment from Spooky Sentiments on white Soft Finish Cardstock and cut it using the coordinating Labels 1 die.

A quick and easy Halloween card!

You can find all the products I used linked above or by visiting Elizabeth Craft Designs.

Fall Country Cottage Birthday

The colors of fall just can't be beat by any other season!  Here in Maine it's pumpkin picking time so I've got a festive  birthday card to celebrate those who are blessed to have a birthday in the fall.

Here's a snapshot of the products I used today:

I started by cutting Dee's Distinctively Dies Small Winter Cottage out of cream colored cardstock.
I added color using Copic markers and Distress Ink and then assembled the cottage.  Just because a die is labeled "winter" doesn't mean it has to be used for just that.  Think outside the box when you're using your dies for other ways to use them.  The snow capped roof makes a perfect thatched roof for a country cottage, don't you think?

Next, cut Dee's Distinctively Dies Tree Base 1 out of cream cardstock and add color using Brushed Corduroy and Antique Linen Distress Inks.

Cut Frantic Stamper Stitched Grassy Hill Edgers out of green cardstock and create your scene.  I stamped a plaid background for a fun and unique look in the sky.   The sentiment is heat embossed in gold.

I hope you're inspired by today's project.  Don't forget to join in on all the fun at the Dies R Us Challenge Blog.  There's a new challenge theme offered on the 1st and 15th of each month and one lucky randomly drawn winner will receive a gift voucher prize to the Dies R Us Store.  For your convenience, all the important Dies R Us links are provided below.
