Winter Scene Thank You Card

Good morning everyone!  I'm popping in with a CAS thank you card that hopefully is CAS enough for the CAS Christmas Card Challenge.

I recently posted about this soft, pastel Christmas card that I made, using Papertrey Ink's Winter Village.  I had stamped all of the buildings out using the same pastel colors and this house was left sitting on my desk, so I put it to work on today's card.

I used Spellbinders Fluted Classics Circles to cut the just the lined insert into an A2 sized Neenah Solar White cardstock panel.  Leaving the die in place, I then blended in a bit of Tumbled Glass DOX ink to the center of the circle.

After building the little scene, I added some Stickles Glitter Glue snow drifts and a sentiment cut using Layered Mix & Match Sentiments (also from Spellbinders).  This sentiment set seems to be my new favorite "go-to" set for sentiments.  I like the double layers and the font they used.

I struggle with CAS cards because I always want to keep adding more "stuff"! But I think this card came out sweet and hopefully fits the requirements of a CAS design.

There's still time to play along at the CAS Christmas Card Challenge.

Shades of Pink ~ Double D Challenges

Hello friends~ "Shades of Pink", that's the new theme for the challenge that's starting today over at Double D Challenges.
I was delighted with so many ideas for this challenge.  That doesn't always happen.

I had won the entire release from Pink Fresh Studio back before Christmas and I really hadn't had much of a chance to play with any of it, up until this point.

I pulled out Choose Hope stencils and coordinating die to create this soft card in shades of pink.

The background is embossed using Lush Vines Hot Foil / Embossing Plate.  I don't have a hot foiling machine (dare I say "yet"?) so I'm glad I can use the plates for embossing.  I stenciled the flowers and leaves using Distress Oxide Inks and die cut the flower cluster out using the coordinating die.  I then brushed on just a bit of Stickles Glitter Glue to add shine to the flowers.

The sentiment is cut using Scripted Greetings, in gold and white and the two frames are cut using Poppystamps Pointed Rectangle Frames.

I do hope you'll stop in at Double D Challenges so see more amazing inspiration from my talented teammates and play along.

Will You Be Mine? ~ DRU

Hello friends ~  Dies R Us is starting a new challenge today, and the theme is Valentines / Love.
Lawn Fawn seriously has some of the cutest stamps and dies.  I used Stitched Pond Frame and Simple Grassy Hillsides for the grass.

I cut all the pond elements out of white cardstock and colored them using copics.  I cut the pond out of blue cardstock and added a bit of Chipped Sapphire DOX ink to the edges of the pond insert.

Amazing Paper Grace February Die of the Month ~ Spellbinders

Hello everyone~  I'm here today to share a card I made using Spellbinders Amazing Paper Grace February, Die of the Month.  Becca Feeken truly amazes me with her stunning designs and eye for detail when it comes to creating dies that are easy to use and so beautiful when put together.

This scalloped intricate design is cut to give you two layers for a beautifully detailed design.  I cut the designs twice out of white and Waterfall Color Essentials Cardstock and abutted the straight edges up together to make this medallion.

The banner can be cut as a solid or using the detailed insert.  Here, I cut the detailed banner out of white and the solid banner out of Waterfall Color Essential Cardstock.  The "happy birthday" die is cut using Layered Mix & Match Sentiments, using Gold Mirror Cardstock to add a bit of extra elegance.  The flower is one of four flowers that are included in the set as well as the green leaf dies.

I hope you enjoyed today's card.  I've included a list of supplies that I used, below.  By clicking on the links, you'll be taken directly to the product in the Spellbinders store.

Pastel Winter Greetings

Hello friends ~ I'm popping in today with a card that fits perfectly into the Peace On Earth Christmas Challenge.  They have the sweetest mood board to inspire you and it's right up my vintage loving hearts alley.
So much vintage goodness here!  I was inspired by the soft, pastel colors in each of the tiles above.

I started by making a mini slimline card using Spellbinders Mini Slimline Envelope & Nested Card Creator Dies.  I love all the layering options this die set offers.

I used Winter Village from Papertrey Ink to create the scene, using soft pastels to match the polka-dotted paper in the background, which is from Prima Marketing "Sweet Peppermint".

The sentiment is cut using Spellbinders Layered Mix & Match Sentiments, using gold shimmer cardstock, backed with a soft aqua cardstock.

Here's a list of links to the products I used:

Be Mine? ~ Double D Challenge

Hello friends ~  I'm back today with a card I made for the new challenge starting up over at Double D Challenge.
The theme for the next two weeks is "Hearts".
Now you may be wondering, where are all the hearts??

I took my inspiration from the top, right corner of the inspiration photo and used the Tea Cup from Elizabeth Craft Designs.  This is an older die and I think it's even retired now, but I'll always love the clean design and all the ways you can decorate it.

You may recall that I recently used this tea cup die to make tags this past Christmas (click HERE), where I hand drew on the faces.  I've since purchased a set of whimsical face stamps from Peachy Keen Stamps and I am enamored with how cute they all are!
So many sizes to choose from and all adorably sweet!

Turtle-y AWESOME! ~ DRU

Good morning friends~  There's a new challenge starting up over at DRU Challenge blog and we're looking for cards and projects using Valentine's / Love theme.

I enjoy making Valentine cards to send to all my great little nieces and nephews.  These cute Marianne Designs Turtles are perfect for whipping together some quick cards to let them know how special they are.

For each card, I started by embossing a brick background and then added the cute turtles.

I used PoppyStamps "Be My Valentine Postcard Script" for the sentiment on each card.

Penny Black "Love Always" die made the perfect tall grass for this little duo.

I hope you'll visit the Dies R Us Challenge Blog to see more amazing inspiration from my teammates and join in on the fun.
