Fall Splendor ~ 12 Kits of Occasion ~ October

Can you believe we're at the end of October already?  The older I get, the faster time seems to drift by.  The end of the month brings us to the group post for 12 Kits of Occasion and this month was my turn to host.  I asked my sweet friend Connie from Connie's Crafty Creations to join me this month as my guest.

I've titled my kit "Fall splendor" to celebrate all the colors and beauty of the season.  There is a complete list of supplies listed on the 12 Kits of Occasion blog.
Let's get started!

My kit started off in a different direction at first and I had already cut these cute little critters so I kept them in the kit anyway and thought I'd use them for a final card.

Be sure to visit the 12 Kits of Occasion blog to see how all my talented team mates were inspired to use this kit and please leave them some love along the way.

Thanks for stopping by!

Golden Fall Celebrations ~ TSOC

Happy Fall Y'all!  I love the crisp fall air and all the colors that come along with fall.  Don't you?  Today's card is in remembrance of both of my parents.  They celebrated their birthdays October 2nd and 3rd.  While they're no longer with me, October holds special memories in my heart for them because, aside from their birthdays it's also their anniversary month as well as mine and my hubbies anniversary month.  Lots to remember and celebrate!

This card was made for the new challenge starting up over at The Sisterhood of Crafters "Golden Fall" challenge.  We'd like to see you use gold on your project.

For my card, I started by cutting a piece of gold shimmer card stock with a Frantic Stamper Spiral Rose cover die and mounting it onto a Neenah Solar White 110lb card stock card base.

I  had this Concord & 9th Happy Day cake image left over from a previous 12 kits that I colored up in fall colors using Copic markers.

This card is to celebrate all the good things that the fall season gives.

Now it's YOUR turn to play along.  You can find all the details at The Sisterhood of Crafters or by clicking here.  We look forward to seeing what you create!

New Halloween Challenge ~ Are You Onboard?

Good morning all! My two friends, Darlene and Diane are up to their creative shenanigans' again.  They've come up with the cutest idea for a Halloween challenge.
Doesn't the name just crack you up?  Well, it did me!  Anyway, I thought I'd play along to help spread the word about this unique and fun challenge.  The theme is "Anything Goes" and it runs until October 28th so you still have time to play along.

Here's my card:
While I'm not a big fan of Halloween myself, I do like the vintage Halloween images that they used to print on old post cards.  I like the ones that were not too creepy, but always super cute!    For this card, I printed off a free BINGO and kitty & pumpkin printable I found online.

Here is there current mood board for inspiration.  I was inspired by the darling kitty  in the top right corner.

I'll also be adding this card to the following challenges:

You can find the challenge blog here!
I do hope you'll stop by and give Darlene and Diane some love and play along.

Thanks for stopping by!

Recee's Halloween Treats ~ Dies R Us

Hello stamplings ~  There's a new challenge starting up today over at the Dies R Us Challenge blog and the theme is "Halloween".

When I was a little girl going trick or treating around our neighborhood on Halloween, I couldn't wait to get home to see how many Recee's Peanut Butter Cups I got.  I would trade my other candy with my sister for her Recee's.  These are still my favorite candy today and I've dressed some up for the occasion.  Plus, this project gave me the perfect excuse to buy some!

The candy wraps are made using black cardstock, which I cut to length, scored and glued together in the back.  I added a piece of orange and black patterned paper to the front panel on each.  The medallions are made using Impression Obsessions Stitched Pink Circles and Elizabeth Craft Designs Fitted Circles.

I added a different Halloween image to each of the three medallions.  The black cat and the witch are from the Elizabeth Craft Designs Haunted House set and the ghost is from the Elizabeth Craft Designs Ghosts set.

The spider web banner in the background is cut using Impression Obsessions Pinked Stitched Sentiment Banners.  I layered a smaller MFT Blueprints banner over the top and stamped the sentiment onto a Sizzix Ornate Label.

Each of the treats are tied with black tulle, which I then added a little spider charm from Frantic Stamper Cute Halloween Icons.  I simply punched a hole using a hole punch into the top of the spider and tied it on with some black and white bakers twine.

These fun little treat wraps came together so quickly!  And now that this post is completed, one of them disappeared just as quickly.  ;0)
You can find all the details and join in on the fun by clicking here.  You could be the next winner of a DRU Gift Certificate!

I wanted to remind you that we have some exciting news to share with you.  Dies R Us now has opened a sister store with warehouses in the USA and Canada called Didi Crafts

It will ship to both the US and Canada.  Didi Crafts will carry some of the same products as DRU, but most will be different.  Now our Canadian friends don't have to worry about huge taxes or shipping fees. How great is that!?!  We'd love for you to visit by clicking on the links above or by clicking here.

Kiss The Cook ~ TSOC ~ Lots Of Layers

Good morning friends.  My mother was an excellent cook.  In fact, she was in her happy place when she was in the kitchen.  Unfortunately I did not inherit that trait.  I don't enjoy cooking.  I enjoy eating.  I have some leftover design paper from Bo Bunny called Kiss The cook and it was perfect for the new challenge starting over at The Sisterhood of Crafters.  The theme is "Lots of Layers".  Have a look:

YUMMY, right?  I layered all those luscious patterns, using their pre-printed images for the focal point.

Then I made some flowers using MFT's Layered Roses and Top Dog Dies Pretty Petals.  I was so sad when Top Dog Dies closed their doors.  I really liked their unique dies.  The greens are Cheery Lynn's Olive Branch.

I added a bit of distress ink to the edges of the cream star flowers.  Add a few stamen for the center and candy dots for the centers of the red flowers.  Done!

Sweet and yummy and ready brighten someone's day.

Now it's YOUR turn to play along.  You can find all the details at The Sisterhood of Crafters or by clicking here.  We look forward to seeing what you create!
