YOU are AWESOME!

Good morning friends.  I'm popping in with a sweet card that I made for a sweet friend.

The colors fit perfectly with the Sunday Stamps challenge.

My dear friend Marcia gifted me with this cute Penny Black Bundled Buddies stamp and I couldn't wait to make her a card to let her know how AWESOME she is.
The smile on this little one feeding her little bird friend warms my heart!

Stamping friends are the best!  Thank you my dear friend.

12 Kits of Occasion ~ January 2020

It's the end of January so you know what that means?  It's time for the 12 Kits of Occasion girls to post our cards using monthly kits created by each one of us.  We've had some changes going on recently and we are sadly saying goodbye to Kara Pogreba, Lisa Elton and Lindsey Larsen, as they've chosen to step down because, hey, life gets busy.  They'll be sadly missed but I'm thankful that I know where to find them.  We also have a past member re-joining the team so welcome back to Kelly Schirmer and we have past alumni also joining in with us for "leftover month".
We've decided to take the month of January to create cards using the leftovers from past kits.  So with that said, here are my cards using the leftovers from past kits.

Inspired By Challenge ~ Quiet

Happy Monday Morning friends!  We've been getting snow upon snow here on the east coast and I've been happily staying safe at home and finding lots of time to spend in my craft room.

I know this Foxy stamp from Casual Fridays has been out for a while, but I couldn't resist inking it up and bringing it to life with copic markers.

For the first card, I stamped a scripty background in light grey ink then stamped the Foxy image over it, colored it with copics and added white gel pen dots.  The photo corners are an old die from Quickutz.

For this card I cut the image out using an Elizabeth Craft Designs Stitched Oval and just added it to some scraps of printed paper.  I thought this peaceful moment between fox and butterfly would be perfect for the new challenge going on over at Inspired By where the theme is "Quiet".

Celebrate! Eat Cake! ~ Dies R Us ~ Happy Birthday!

Good morning ~ How about a little cake for breakfast this morning?
Dies R Us Challenge Blog is starting a new challenge and the theme is "Birthday", so let's celebrate and eat cake!!

I turned to Elizabeth Craft Designs Cake to create this CAS card.  I added some pretty Lawn Fawn confetti sprinkles to the frosting on the cake.  The fork was cut using silver mirror cardstock.

Would you like to celebrate with us?  Join in on the fun at the DRU Challenge Blog.  You could be our next winner!

I'll also be entering this card into the following challenges:

Before I go, we have some exciting news to share with you.  Dies R Us now has a sister store with warehouses in the USA and Canada called Didi Crafts

It will ship to both the US and Canada.  Didi Crafts will carry some of the same products as DRU, but most will be different.  Now our Canadian friends don't have to worry about huge taxes or shipping fees. How great is that!?!  We'd love for you to visit by clicking on the links above or by clicking here.

Vintage Inspired Hot Air Balloons

There's nothing like the look of vintage Valentine cards to bring your heart and mind to a place of simpler times.

When I saw this mood board from Double D Challenges, I was inspired by the hot air balloons as well as the Valentine balloons so here's what I came up with:

I pulled out some printed papers from My Mind's Eye that I'd been hoarding and found this sweet hot air balloon paper to use for the background.

I cut the Elizabeth Craft Designs Hot Air Balloon out of some of the coordinating printed paper and laid it over a white die cut doily.

I had some pre-printed die cuts left over from a Spellbinders monthly kit from last year and added the hearts, banner and birds.

I enjoy making these types of cards because they use up a lot of supplies that tend to sit around for a while.  I hope you're inspired by my card today and that you will dig into your neglected supplies to create something out of the ordinary.

If you'd like to join in on the fun at Double D Challenges, you could win the Elizabeth Craft Designs Hot Air Balloons dies which is the same die I used to create my card.  Happy crafting!

Inspired By Hot Chocolate

Back before Christmas, I was delightfully surprised to find out I was one of the winners from Tracey's 25 Days of Christmas tags.  The prize was a store credit to Picket Fence Studios.  One of the stamps I chose was this image called Jill Girl.
Let me just say, she is wonderfully fun to color up and bring life to her sweet face.

I colored her using Copic markers and kept the card design simple, using a knitted embossed background to compliment her scarf, mittens and cocoa mug wrap.
I thought this card would be perfect to enter into the Inspired By Challenge which right now is inspired by "Hot Chocolate".  I'm inspired by the image, but changed up the focal color to aqua instead of red.

Here's what I used to create this card:
Cozy Knit embossing folder from Fun Stampers Journey.

I'll also be adding this card to the following challenges:

Altenew Beautiful Lilies

Good morning sunshine!  I'm so glad you stopped by.  Today's greeting is a lovely, cheerful card I made using Altenew's Layered Lily Stamp & Die Bundle.

I confess that sometimes I struggle with getting layered flower images lined up correctly, but this is one of the easiest flowers to line up perfectly.

I used Red Sunset Mini Cube Set to stamp the flowers and the greens from Spring Bouquet Mini Cube Set to stamp the leaves.  I heat embossed the stamen using bright yellow embossing powder.

Altenew makes is so easy to coordinate your layered colors by putting them into color sets and they are currently having a sale on all their ink cubes.  So now is the perfect time to stock up on the colors you've been wanting.

Here's a list of the products I used:

I hope you enjoyed today's project and that you'll visit Altenew and browse their amazing line-up of layered flowers and perfectly coordinating inks.
