Summer Fun! 12 Kits of Occasion ~ June

Hello all~ It's the last day of the month and that means it's time for our 12 Kits of Occasion post.  This month was my month to host and I chose brightly colored papers and warm, summer images to celebrate this wonderful season of summer.  A complete list of supplies I used, can be found over at the 12 Kits of Occasion blog under the Monthly Kit Supplies tab.
Thanks Lindsey for always making our kits look amazing each month with your brilliant photography skills.  (hugs)

Here are the cards I made using this month's kit:
I wish I had a stack of this fun flamingo paper from Echo Park!  Brightly colored flamingo's and fresh, juicy watermelon is the epitome of summer to me.

This sentiment is like my motto... so true!!

I used copics to color this lovely bird from Sweet N' Sassy Stamps to look like a blue bird.  I added light, feathery details with a white gel pen.

Another card that just says "Summer" to me.

I Love this darling image from Penny Black.  She's colored using copics and I added white gel pen accents and waves rolling on the beach.

And lastly, who can't help but adore these cute little penguins from MFT's Penguin Paradise.  Summer penguins are so much fun!

Now it's time to hop on over to the 12 Kits of Occasion blog to see how my talented teamies used this kit.

Crazy Quackers

Good morning~  I'm popping in with a cute card I actually made a while ago and never got around to posting.
It will fit in nicely with the challenge going on over at Time Out Challenges, their theme is "funny"

This set from Sugarpea Designs is called  Quackers.  It's an older set but these ducks never fail to make me smile. I stamped the images on Neenah 80# Solar White Cardstock and colored them in using Copic Markers.
I feel like the duck with it's head in the water.  Sometimes I think I live under a rock in my own little world, coming up for air once in a while.

I'll be adding this card to the following challenges:

Let Us Adore Him ~ Glitter, Sparkle & Shine!

Happy Monday morning friends!  Has it really been two weeks since my last post?  Time sure does fly by.  There's a new challenge over at Christmas Kickstart Challenge and the theme is "Glitter, sparkle & shine!"  What girl can resist that challenge??
My card uses a sparkly reindeer donning a bright red scarf and a strip of glitter paper along the side.  I added some lovely plaid prints from Lawn Fawn in yummy Christmas colors and a heat embossed sentiment in white.

The printed papers were used so I could add this to the Double D Challenges "Pick A Pattern" challenge.
I'll also be entering this card into the Word Art Wednesday Challenge  where it's always "Anything Goes.

There's still plenty of time to play along with all of these challenges.  If you click on the links below it'll take you directly to them.

There's a new challenge starting over at the Dies R Us Challenge Blog and this week the theme is "Summertime".

There are oodles of ideas that ran through my head for this challenge because, lets face it.  Who doesn't love the warmth of the summer sunshine?

My CAS card uses Impression Obsession Flip Flops and Sue Wilsons Designs Ray Of Light.  Nothing says "Summer" like sunshine and flip flops!

You can find all the details and join in on the fun here.
The winner will receive a gift card to Dies R Us.

Bees, Bees!

Hello friends ~ I've never felt that I was clever enough to play along with Darnell's talented ladies at the Twofer Card Challenge but I thought I'd give it a go this time around.  The theme is "Bees" and I've been wanting to play with this darling Happy Fall Y'all set from Honey Bee Stamps again.
I created a "hello" baby card and a birthday card for the challenge.  Here's more info on my cards:

For the baby card, I started by cutting a rectangle using ECD Stitched Rectangles.  I think I use these rectangles on almost 90% of the cards I make.  I stamped patterned hexagon images from PTI's Happy Hexagons and then embossed the stamped panel with a cross stitch pattern embossing plate.  I stamped the happy little bees from Happy Fall Y'all and colored them in pink tones using Copic markers.

I cut the Hello Honey Cuts Die out of white cardstock and blended it with Distress Oxide Ink and then heat embossed it with clear embossing powder.

For the next card I used the Bee Hive Card Dies to create this darling shaped card.  I've always wanted to make a pink bee hive and this was my chance!  It makes me think of cotton candy.  ;0) I used the Honey Bee Hive Stencils to add gradiant colored stripes on the bee hive.

I used one of the door dies to add a peek-a-boo door and decorated the card using more of those lovely sunflowers from the Happy Fall Y'all set.  The banner is cut using Elizabeth Craft Designs Banners.

There's plenty of time to play along with this challenge.  You can get there by clicking here.

I'll also be adding one of these cards to the following challenges:

BOY or GIRL...... Click HERE!

We couldn't have asked for a more beautiful day on Saturday when we had the gender reveal party for my daughter and son-in-love and if you're here for the results, here it is........

It's a BOY!
Their dog Royce was very happy to see that he'll have a little man human to love on, protect and play ball with.  They've already picked a name and it is just perfect.  Jackson James.
Doesn't it have a sweet sound when you say it?

They chose to find out right along with everyone else so I love this picture of them looking at each other with surprise when they saw the blue powder shoot out of the canisters.

Now I get learn all there is to know about being a grandmother.  My eyes sting with tears at the excitement and joy of it all.

Here's a video, if you want to see that too.

At any rate,
Thanks for sharing in our joy with me today.  Your visits and comments always brighten my day.
Hugs~

A Bowl Full of Cherries

Hello, I'm back again with another card I made for The Card Concept Challenge.  The fact that I've been spending time in my craft room is a good indication that the weather outside has not been great.  Rain, rain, and more rain.  But the rain isn't dampening my spirits, I'm happy to spend time playing along with more challenges.

Their fun retro inspiration:

I don't have any record players but I do have a cute little vintage scale from PTI's Bowl of Sunshine set.
I paired it with some older (nearly vintage) scrapbook paper that mimics the round record rather well, I think.

I'll be entering this card into the following challenges:

Rose Garden

Good morning friends ~ I'm popping in with a card for Double D Challlenges "Rose Garden" challenge.
I used Sunny Studio Stamps "Everything's Rosey" to create this quick CAS card.  These roses are so easy to line up with a little help from the Misti Stamping Tool.  I used my new favorite Ink Cube Sets from Altenew,  Tea Party for the roses and Tropical Forest for the leaves.

This wonderful lime green gingham in the background is from Doodlebug's "Down On The Farm Petite Prints"I cut the Sympathy from Tutti Designs from Silver Mirror Cardstock for added elegance.  Sadly, you just sometimes you just need a sympathy card.

I'll be adding this card to the following challenges:

Is It A Girl or A Boy?

Good morning friends,  I'm so happy to be writing up this post as it's been a long matter of prayer.  My daughter has had multiple miscarriages over the past year and a half and is finally at a safe place in this pregnancy where I feel comfortable about sharing this joyous news with you.  I'm gonna be a grandma!!!

This is the week they find out what sex the baby is and I couldn't help myself to do a little shopping to celebrate this special event in their lives.

I bought a newborn outfit for both a boy and a girl and made cards to coordinate with them, so that when they do the big reveal (which is this Saturday!), I'll have a gift ready to give them.

I used dies from Marianne Designs for both of my cards.  She has the cutest lineup of animals and they're so fun to put together.   In this case I obviously was inspired by the little outfits I found.

So what do you think it's going to be?  A boy or a girl?
You'll have to come back some time next week to find out!
I'm hoping to post a video of the reveal, if I can figure out how to be that computer saavy.

I'm so happy that you've come to share our joyous news with me!

I'll be posting one of these cards into the following challenges:
