Bees, Bees!

Hello friends ~ I've never felt that I was clever enough to play along with Darnell's talented ladies at the Twofer Card Challenge but I thought I'd give it a go this time around.  The theme is "Bees" and I've been wanting to play with this darling Happy Fall Y'all set from Honey Bee Stamps again.
I created a "hello" baby card and a birthday card for the challenge.  Here's more info on my cards:

For the baby card, I started by cutting a rectangle using ECD Stitched Rectangles.  I think I use these rectangles on almost 90% of the cards I make.  I stamped patterned hexagon images from PTI's Happy Hexagons and then embossed the stamped panel with a cross stitch pattern embossing plate.  I stamped the happy little bees from Happy Fall Y'all and colored them in pink tones using Copic markers.

I cut the Hello Honey Cuts Die out of white cardstock and blended it with Distress Oxide Ink and then heat embossed it with clear embossing powder.

For the next card I used the Bee Hive Card Dies to create this darling shaped card.  I've always wanted to make a pink bee hive and this was my chance!  It makes me think of cotton candy.  ;0) I used the Honey Bee Hive Stencils to add gradiant colored stripes on the bee hive.

I used one of the door dies to add a peek-a-boo door and decorated the card using more of those lovely sunflowers from the Happy Fall Y'all set.  The banner is cut using Elizabeth Craft Designs Banners.

There's plenty of time to play along with this challenge.  You can get there by clicking here.

I'll also be adding one of these cards to the following challenges:
The Sisterhood of Crafters ~ Three "B's"
Word Art Wednesday ~ Anything Goes

Thanks for stopping by!

First of all what a silly girl you are, Birgit, thinking you aren't clever enough to play with us? Look how well you did and how easy it was to simply make two different designs using the same bee stamp? You rocked the concept!

I love how you colored your happy little bees pink for both your designs! The pastel colored hexagons on the hello baby card are perfect for a baby's room and I love how you glossified the sediment with clear e/p! And your bee-day card is darling with that big fat pink beehive! I love how you've adorned the hive with flowers to give the bees a handy way to train up the baby bees on the fine art of pollinating! Thank you so much for playing in Twofer Card Challenge #17! Hugs, Darnell

p.s. The only thing is, um, didn't you mean to show us a photo of what's inside that awesome peek-a-boo door in the hive? I'm dying to know!!

But anyway, those bee's are just too stinkin CUTE and I just love their faces! And the fact that they're PINK!! Both cards are absolutely ADORABLE but I especially love the bee-hive card!! Imagine that....you did it! lol I never had a doubt! I never have had time to play along, maybe come Fall :) I love your honey bee cards, I also bought that set a while ago as Penny loves Winnie The Pooh, and what's Pooh without a source of honey? lol Great cards! Well done!

It is hard for me to think of two different ways to use stamps, I love your baby hexagon card, such cute patterns and bees. Love the shaped hive card for your second, great idea!

Oh my, pink bees ... how adorable, Birgit! The soft honeycomb, textured, hexagon background is a delight for them on your hello card ... and what a fantastic hive shape for your birthday card! It's fun and sweet and so beautifully detailed ... love how the doors open! So pleased you finally decided to play along with us at Twofer ... thanks so much! Anita :)

I started reading your post, and thought, wait, I thought this was Birgit's blog, certainly she couldn't be saying she's not clever enough - get outta town! I love both of your designs! The way you dry embossed the baby card makes it look like a baby blanket with that waffle weave texture. Your pink cotton candy bee hive is darling, and especially sweet with pink bees and flowers! We've been camping, so I'm just now getting a chance to catch up. Thanks so much for joining in the fun with us at the Twofer Card Challenge!
