Marcia's, Patti's and My Monthly Challenge

Hello friends~  It's the end of the month so that means it's time for our challenge between friends with Marcia, Patti and myself.  Patti is taking this month off since she's had such a busy and trying time and is hopefully healing well. I hope you'll pray along with Marcia and I for full recovery. So it's just me and my dear friend Marcia from Marcia's Stampin' Pad with you today to reveal our cards.  This month our challenge was to use PTI's Holiday Greens on our creations.
Here's my cards:
Card #1
I stamped a verse from A Thrill of Hope onto a piece of white card stock and drew an outline around the edge and added some greens and flowers.  A funny thing about these flowers, they're not supposed to be flowers.  They're pine cones!  I didn't realize they were pine cones until I finished making all my cards for this challenge.  Honestly, sometimes I think my brain has gone on permanent vacation!
Card #2
This card uses the pretty church from Winter Village to creat a little scene inside a stitched oval window.  Embellished again, with the "flower" pine cone, holly leaves and pine sprigs.
Card #3
This card is pretty straight forward using the Holiday Greens.  I simply added a layered button using  Button Stacks

Card #4
Another card using Winter Village with snow stickles on the rooftop.  I heat embossed the sentiment from A Thrill of Hope in gold.

Let's Eat Cake! ~ Dies R Us

Did you know that today, November 26th is National Cake Day? I tell ya, here in the United States we will celebrate anything!
In honor of this momentous occasion, I am posting this card I made using Impression Obsession Cake Die.

I started by stamping the paper streamers from PTI's Hooray! on the card front. I cut all the pieces of the Impression Obsession Cake out and colored them with Copics. I cut the Impression Obsession Ornate Oval Frame three times using silver and Kraft card stock and layered it up to give it dimension and added the cupcake to the center of the Kraft oval.

I added some printed paper strips to the left edge of the card and stamped the sentiment from MFT's LLD Delicious Birthday set on the outside strip. Adding the frame to the center of the card was the finishing step!

So whether you choose to buy a cake, bake a cake, eat a piece of cake or make a paper cake, enjoy National Cake Day!

Here's a list of supplies I used:

Day 19, 20 & 21 ~ 25 Days of Christmas Tags

Good morning friends~ Today is a catch up post for some tags I've made for Tracey's 25 Days of Christmas Tags.

These first two are inspired by Channin Pelletier on day #21.  I loved the script embossed in white on the black tags.  I used the elves from MFT to finish the tags off with.

This tag was inspired by the amazing Tracey McNeely herself on day #20.  She used the light bulbs from Sunny Studios.  The Christmas baubles from Sunny Studios makes a good stand in.

This tag is also inspired by Tracey on day #20 as well.  The poinsettia is one that I made last year and never used.  I'm surprised it survived the entire year (and that I found it).  It now found a happy place to be used.   The greens underneath are from PTI's Post & Parcel kit.

This tag is inspired by Melissa Bickford on day #19.  I love the design of her card and her use of plaid.

Vintage Christmas

Good morning friends~ I've got a card to go along with a challenge at 52 (Christmas) Card Throwdown where the theme is:

When I fist saw this set "Kitsch Christmas" from Avery Elle, I fell completely head over heels in love with it.  These deer are so darling and are totally vintage!

I heat embossed the star snowflakes from the set in white on a white background and then added distress inks in Antique paper, Tattered Rose and Abandoned coral.  I flicked the panels with a bit of water and then sprayed the entire panel with a white shimmer spray that I made myself.

The deer are colored using copics with white gel pen details.  I added a thick coating of Glossy Accents to the big red bow.

The sentiments included in the set have a wonderfully vintage font as well.  These cards have lots of shine.  I hope I captured the look of vintage with these two cards.
I'll also be adding one of these cards to the following challenges:

Dies R Us ~ It's Thanksgiving... EAT BEEF!

Hello and Happy Thanksgiving to those of you who celebrate this season of giving thanks!  It's my turn to post over at the Dies R Us Inspiration Blog and this card goes out to my son who thinks beef is the only way to go for every occasion.  Well, steak to be exact but "Eat Steak" just didn't sound right.  ;0)

I started by cutting the Impression Obsession Patchwork Turkey out using kraft card stock and a little scrap of black and kraft gingham paper.  I added a bit of distress ink to the edges of each kraft piece and very heavily to the feet and wings of the turkey.  I find it easier to color those little tiny pieces by keeping them in the negative spaces they were cut from while I add the distress ink.  I then assembled the turkey.
Next I cut a frame using the Impression Obsession All In One Rectangle Frames and added it over a panel cut from coordinating white card stock.  These frames are the most used frames I own, as there is not a bit of wasted space on this die.  You can create a frame for every need!    A bit of distress ink was also added to the center of the framed panel.

The rest of the card was color blocked by using scrapbooking papers in festive fall prints.  The sign is cut using Taylored Expressions Birch Tree Accessories.  I wrote the sentiment myself using a white gel pen.  I clearly don't have the best writing but it worked in a pinch.

Here's a list of products I used that can be found at Dies R Us.

Sending Hugs

Hello friends~  I'm popping in to share a card that I made using the CASology Cue Card "Embrace"

I used MFT's Snuggle Bunnies and did a little bit of masking and colored them up using Copics.
The sentiment is from PTI's Big Hugs Stamp Set.

This card is going out to a very dear friend who's been facing a challenging time in her life.

I'll also be adding this card to the following
challenges:

Cupcake Inspirations #385 ~ A Theme Challenge

Good morning friends~  A new challenge is up at the Cupcake Inspirations Challenge Blog and it's a theme challenge.
The theme is "Thanks"

The sponsor for this week's challenge is

and they're generously giving a stamp set and 6x6 pad of paper of the winners choice.  How fun is that!

Now on to my card:
I started by stamping the sunflower from Kitchen Sink Stamps onto a piece of cream colored card stock.  I cut the stamped image using MFT Wonky Stitched Rectangles  and one from brown card stock.  I cut the Impression Obsession Thankful die from the same brown card stock and added some clear Wink of Stella to add sparkle.  A few sequins finish this off.

Be sure to visit the other designers to see how they were inspired.

Day 18 ~ 25 Days Of Christmas Tags

Hello friends~ I wish I could say that I'd kept up with Tracey McNeely's 25 Days of Christmas tags but alas, I have not.  I have a tag here today based on some of the cute gingerbread tags I saw on Day 18.

This cute little gingerbread fella is from Elizabeth Craft Designs Gingerbread Man.  You can't really tell, but I added some Warm Diamond Silk Microfine Glitter to the white stripes on the candy cane.  The sentiment and banner is from Marianne Designs.

You can find all the details on Tracey's challenge HERE

Season's Greetings

Good morning friends~  I'm going vintage today and playing along with this week's Merry Monday Christmas Challenge.  Their theme this week is:
Red, White and Grey.

I started by stamping grey stripes down the left side of the card base and heat embossed the sentiment in gold.  The music sheet is printed off my home printer and then I used WPlus 9's Merry & Bright for the candle centerpiece.  I did veer a little from the colors by adding green to the leaves.  The candle is covered in Wink of Stella.

I'll also be adding this card to the following challenges:
Double D's Challenges ~ Traditional Christmas Colors
The Crop Stop ~ Anything Goes
Word Art Wednesday ~ Anything Goes

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Blessings~ Birgit

Dies R Us ~ Holly Jolly Christmas Button Card

Good morning friends.  I love looking at vintage button cards on Pinterest and I equally enjoy making my own button cards.  (See this post HERE) Today's card uses Poppystamps Frosty Snowflake Buttons, however there are so many wonderful BUTTON DIES is the store, the possibilities for cards and projects are endless!  They are ALL are oh, so adorable!!

I started by cutting the snowflakes and Poppystamps Stitched Holly Leaves and Berries out of white and aqua mist colored card stock.
I cut some Poppystamps Main Street Pinpoint Tags out in various sizes and colors of card stock.  I often do this when I don't know exactly how my project is going to play out.  This gives me options to play around with.  Whatever I don't use, I use on future projects.
I layered the snowflake buttons and attached them to the smaller white Main Street Pinpoint tag to create the button card.  Some PTI  button stamps were used to create the button tag as well.

I added the holly leaves and berries to the sentiment banner at the top and some bakers twine to finish this off.

Here's a list of all the dies I used that can be found at Dies R Us:
