Simon Says Stamp ~ Anything Goes Challenge

Since I'm still fairly new to Simon Says Stamp, I don't have any of their dies to use for this challenge so I opted to use some standard dies from Nestablilities as well as from PTI. Here's my submission for this challenge. Maybe I'll be lucky enough to win the $50 gift certificate so I can get me some of their dies as I've got a wish list that's growing and growing!

This card I made using the materials from the July card kit from Simon Says Stamp. I have so much fun with each card kit. My goal when the kits arrive is to make as many cards as I can, using as much of the supplies as possible.

These next cards I made using the June card kit. Since I wasn't blogging then, I thought I could post them now for this challenge. I hope that's ok???

Simon Says ~ August Card Kit

This months card kit from Simon Says Stamp was filled with yummy colors as well as some really fun embellishments. I enjoyed working with the papers and goodies from this kit. Here are some of the cards I created.

Love the Chevron pattern stamp!!

The wood bike was a challenge for me as I've never used anything like it before. After coloring it with Sharpies, I added some Stickles glitter glue to make it shiny. I thought it came out kind of cute!

This birdhouse card was inspired by one of my favorite creative gals, Kittie Caracciolo over at Kittie Krafts. Her creations are amazing and I've learned so many new techniques from her, including how to make the cutest homemade flowers as you'll see in the next two pictures.

Now I'm off to make more cards!

Playing with Copic Markers

Here's some cards I made using a large flower stamp called Open Poppy from Memory box that has been uninked for years... ever since I got it! Terrible, I know. I never really knew how to use it. I've been practicing with copic markers as well and thought this might be a good image to practice blending with. I think I need a lot of coloring tips still. Time to search You Tube!

Papertrey July Blog Hop Challenge

Here's my first entry in the PaperTrey Ink blog hop. Here are the colors that we got to work with.

I so enjoyed working with these colors. They are so warm and yummy! Here are my cards, without further adieu. Sorry for the poor color quality. Still trying to figure this whole thing out.

Stamp sets used: Friendship Jar, Background Basics: Gingham and Text Style, and Greenthumb.

This next card uses Friendship Jar, Year of Flowers and Everyday Treats.

Stamp-A-Faire ~ Homemade Embellishments

I missed the next few projects as I had to get dinner for my hungry family but caught up on the Homemade Embellishments project. I went with the butterflies from Dawn McVey because I just love these butterflies and Dawns style is so me! Here's my card as well as a second card that I made for this challenge.

I then took the same idea using the Notched Flowers Die set.

Did you notice that I stamped a background pattern similar to Betsy Veldman's recent tutorial on creating your own background paper? Loved it!!

Stamp-A-Faire ~ Limited Supply Challenge

I got so caught up in gathering the supplies and finding supplies that would work and then in watching Betsy Veldman's video that I forgot to create something of my own. I ended up mimicking her card (which I love anyway!). Thanks Betsy, for sharing your unending gift of creating.

Stamp-A-Faire ~ Mini Book Challenge

So this was a fun project to make. I chose to make the envelope book using Ashley Cannon Newels tutorial. I got ahead of myself a couple of times and made a couple of mistakes here and there, but overall all it ended up working and the final product came out ok.

I used the book to make a memory album for my sons girlfriend, who's been spending the summer with us before heading back to college soon.

I included pictures of some of the things we've done this summer with her. She did my daughter's and her friends hair and make up for their senior prom.

It was a fun project and she really loved it!

Morning Make & Take

I wasn't sure how much I'd be able to participate in the days activities but I was happy to start on a good note. Here's the morning make and take which was a fun and easy way to start the day.

I never would have thought to use pink and oranges together on the same card.

Here's the inside of the card...

Thanks for the inspiration!

PTI Roll the Die Challenge

Hello crafters. I've been a big fan of Papertrey Ink for quite some time and I'm slowly adding to my stamp collection with each new release. I'm finally able to participate in one of the Make It Monday challenges. I had so much fun with this challenge and I'm so happy that I can finally post about it! :)
For my first card, the roll of the dice gave me Beautiful Blessings and Just the Ticket to work with. Since I don't yet have many PTI colors, I used the color inspiration board from Pinterest and used up some of my paper scraps. The color selection for this project was Kraft and white. As you can see, I had to use buttons for my embellishments.

I enjoyed the challenge so much that I rolled the dice again and here's what I came up with! Using Flower Fusion #1, Take Note, Truffled Hues for the colors
and some homemade flowers for the embellishment. This is how my card came out.

New Beginnings

Hello to all you fellow crafters out there. I've started this blog in an attempt to share my creativity. I'm an avid crafter of many types. I would have to say that my favorite medium is paper crafting. I enjoy making cards the most as well as altered art and scrapbooking.
Next up, I enjoy decorative painting with acrylics.
In my spare time I enjoy "junking", going to thrift stores and repurposing the many treasures I find.

I also enjoy gardening, both flowers and vegetables.

I feed all the birds and critters that visit our yard and we enjoy the company of many goldfish in our pond.
As many things as I enjoy, this blog will be mostly for posting paper crafts so that I can join in on the challenges from the many cardmaking sites that I enjoy visiting on a regular basis. I hope you will visit me from time to time as I'm so looking forward to getting to know some of you other crafty folks out there. Have a blessed day!
