Easter Cards

It's Easter season and I thought I'd post some of the Easter cards I made using some free vintage images that were found on the internet. I just love the soft colors of vintage Easter images.

Make it Monday with PTI

Good morning fellow stampers! Heather Nichols from Papertrey Ink. showed how to create an awesome inked background using ink resist and stamping on your inked background. It's not a new technique but it's something I hadn't tried yet, especially the ink resist. Here's one of my cards for this weeks Make it Monday challenge.

On this card I pretty much used the same background image that Heather used because this is one of my favorite background images. I just changed up the colors to Summer Sunrise, Berry Sorbet and Pure Poppy. I love how the colors blended together and especially how the clear embossing magically emerged from the background when I started inking. I used the "SWEET" stamp from Say it with Style, Washi Tape, Notched Flowers die set and the leaves are from Spellbinders. Thanks for visiting! Blessings~ Birgit

Today is Monday and that means PaperTrey Ink Is having their Make it Monday Challenge. This weeks challenge was especially good for me since I've just recently tried the clear cardstock for the first time and I really enjoyed using it. Here's my take on the challenge:

My Favorite Things Sketch Challenge

My Favorite Things is having their March Release going on right now. They've got some really great things coming this month. They've also got their Wednesday Stamp Club sketch challenge going on too. You can find the sketch and challenge info on their BLOG.
Here is my take on this weeks sketch.

I used the "Love" stamp from MFT and the scripture verse is from PTI. The scalloped circle die cut is from Spellbinders and the long banner die cut is from PTI Half & Half set. I used some old patterned papers that I had on hand and finished the card off with a ribbon bow and some gems.

I used Praise the Lord Stamp set from Sweet and Sassy Stamps. I just love their bird images!! I created my own collage style background using a music background stamp and some postage images from the Postmarks set from PaperTrey Ink. I colored the bird in using my copic markers.

Friday Challenge on Just Rite Papercrafts

Here is my second submission for the Friday Challenge over at Just Rite Papercrafts. The colors for this challenge were Yellow, Grey and White and here is my card...

The photo's came out a little dark but you get the idea. The envelope is an old one I've had in my stash for years that I embellished using some printed yellow paper, a doily and the sentiment is from Just Rite Spring Words stamp set. The card was cut using the Spellbinders scalloped ovals with a free vintage Easter image found online. Thanks for visiting! Blessings~ Birgit

Just Rite Friday Color Challenge

It's gettting near the end of the Just Rite Papercrafts Friday Challenge and I got my cards finished just in time to submit them.
The challenge was to use the colors Yellow, Grey and White to create a card. Here's my creation.

Sorry the photo's didn't come out well. I'm not sure if the colors made it difficult to photograph or if it was just me. I believe it to be the latter. I used the Just Rite Spring Words for the sentiment and the rest are spellbinder die's. The image is a vintage Easter free printable image I found online.
