Celebrate The Savior ~ Baby Update

Hello friends and Happy Easter!

What a wonderful day it is to celebrate our risen Savior.

I made a few cards using a retired PTI set called Make It Market:  Garden Gate.

The stamped sentiments are also a retired PTI set called Easter Alleluiahs.

Our California kiddos arrived on Friday.  I'm feeling so grateful that our little family is together once again.  My grandbabies have finally met each other and their respective aunt & uncle for the first time.

I'm thankful for laughter that fills our home when we're together and the joyful chaos that comes with having little ones.

Today we are celebrating Easter and my husband and son-in-love's birthdays.  What a joy to be together!

I have both of my little blessings on my lap.  Pure joy!!  My little "C" on the left and my sweet "P" on the right.

My son holding his daughter and his nephew.

My little loves.  Life doesn't get any sweeter than this.  My cup overflows.

May the miracle of Easter bring you renewed hope, faith, love and joy.

Little Bunny Treat Boxes

Here comes Peter Cottontail, hopping down the bunny trail......

and right into my craft room!

I had been wanting to make some treat boxes and these little Assorted Bunnies from Frantic Stamper were jumping right out of my craft cabinet, waiting to be used.

I was able to use up lots of retired patterned paper from Elizabeth Craft Designs making these four little boxes.

The Sizzix Gable Box made quick work for the boxes and the fun medallions adorning the fronts.

I made a belly band for each box using another retired but timeless die, a stitched scalloped edger.  Sorry, I don't know what company it's from as I've had them for ages on a magnetic board, so no packaging.  I also used up more of the sweet patterned paper to complete the band.

Each little bunny is striking a different pose.

Once the boxes are filled, I will tie them closed with this vintage lace seam binding I've hoarded for way too long.  The color matched perfectly!

I also cut a trio of tags in coordinating colors to personalize each box.

While it's fun to give treats at Easter time, I know the true miracle of Easter lies beyond the cross, beyond the grave, to the Risen Savior.  My Lord & Savior, Jesus Christ!

I'll be adding these boxes to the following challenges:
The Sisterhood of Crafters ~ Bunnies and/or Chicks
Word Art Wednesday ~ Anything Goes

Shamrocks, Clover and Leprechauns ~ Double D Challenges

Double D Challenges is starting a new challenge today and the theme is "Green / Clover / Shamrocks / Luck".  So have fun with it!!

I don't have any shamrock or leprechaun dies or stamps, except that I did find this little mouse from Cottage Cutz and he's holding a clover leaf.  Does that count?  And look at this free printable I found online.  "Clover Leaf Dairy".  I think I can make them work!

The cutie little mouse is colored with Copics and the flowers are leftovers from a previous project I found sitting in my die box.  Peony Fantasy from Pinkfresh Studio.  They're so pretty heat embossed in silver.

It may not be everyone's style, but I had to make it work with what I had on hand.

Be sure to scamper on over to the Double D Challenge blog to see how my team mates were inspired.

Here's the inspiration board to help get you started.  There's always a prize up for grabs to one randomly selected winner from the U.S.

Vintage / Shabby Easter Cards

Hello friends~ Just thought I'd share a couple of cards I made for Easter.

I pulled out all the supplies for these cards except for stamps.  There is no stamping on these cards.

I bought a sweet set of 6x8 Mintay Papers called Spring Is Here.  It is filled with soft colors and patterns that play really well together.

There are a few cut apart pages included in the pad with the most adorable spring images.  I had to fussy cut the images and if you know me, you know I hate fussy cutting.  Thankfully they weren't too difficult to fussy cut.  I sponged some walnut stain DOX ink around the edges of both images.

I mounted a floral frame using foam tape to add dimension and added some Prima Flowers and string bows to each of the cards.

If you look closely, you'll see that I added a paper doily in the color Swimming Pool from Doodlebug and some tea stained cheese cloth behind each focal point.

That added to the vintage / shabby look.

These cards are too bulky to be mailed but I think these kinds of cards are best when hand delivered anyway.

Here's a list of products I used:

I'll be adding one of these cards to the following challenges:
Word Art Wednesday ~ Anything Goes
Cut It Up Challenge ~ Colors of Spring
Alphabet Challenge ~ Vintage / Retro
The Card Concept ~ Spring Has Sprung
I was inspired by the title "Spring Has Sprung".

First Signs of Spring ~ Double D Challenges

Hello my friends.  It's the first Wednesday of the month so that means that Double D Challenges has started a new challenge.  This one is dear to my heart as I look eagerly for the "First Signs of Spring".

I haven't used the Hourglass Frame Die from The Greetery in quite some time.  I think it was due for some love.  I cut two frame layers, one from white cardstock and one from this pretty glittery cardstock.  I glued them together to give the hourglass frame a bit of depth.

The darling bunny from the Springtime stamp set is just what this hourglass needed to help me pass the time crafting, while I wait for spring to arrive.

I think this umbrella looks like it's twice his size, but he seems to be managing it well.  I added some clear embossing powder to the umbrella for added interest.

I popped the hourglass onto the softest piece of pink gingham printed paper.
Where are you spring???  I'm counting down the minutes until you arrive!

Please do hop on over to Double D Challenges for a look at what my talented team mates have been up to.

Here's the inspiration board to help jumpstart your creativity.

Here's the prize that you could win when you play along.
