Foraged Just For You

Hello and happy August!  Today's card is a sweet, summer shaped card featuring mushrooms which I foraged just for you.

To begin with, I used these new Keyplate Etched Dies from Say It With Stamps.  This past winter I was the winner of a whole box of brand new dies from A Cherry On Top, and this set of dies was among them.  I hadn't used them until now and I'm so pleased with them!

The mushrooms and fauna are from Cottage Cutz.  I die cut them from textured cardstock and added color by sponging on Distress Inks.

The printed papers are just a gathering of scraps found in my scrap box.
I really like how this card turned out and it's one more birthday card added to my stash.  Bonus, that it can be used for a masculine or feminine birthday.

He Is Risen

Good morning friends~ I found some time to spend in my craft space, finishing up some Easter cards I had started weeks ago.  I made six of this same design.  That's something I never do!  I like my cards to be different.

It turned out to be a lot of work cutting all the pieces for this lovely book die from The Greetery called "Have A Spine" and the empty tomb from Cottage Cutz.  Not to mention inking all the rocks.

I stamped the Hymn Song: Christ The Lord Is Risen, also from The Greetery, and made it as a separate page inside the book.

In the end, I like how they turned out.  While bunnies are cute and often used as a symbol to celebrate Easter, I wanted to commemorate the real reason we celebrate this Holy season.  I do however, have some cute bunny things coming soon.

Lighted Gingerbread Box Ornament

Good morning friends ~  I hope you don't mind me popping in and posting another 3D box ornament.

The class I taught a couple weeks ago went well.  Everyone went home happy with their make and some of them even went home and made more.  I had cut extra box pieces for my class, just in case, and we didn't have to use them.

I decided to finish the box ornament off with a gingerbread theme when I found this cutie little gingerbread from Cottage Cutz in my box of Christmas scraps left over from last year.  He's too cute not to be used.

I think I'll add him to the following challenges:

Pretty Packaging

The final countdown to Christmas day has begun!  I have so many Christmas projects that I haven't shared on my blog.  I think the posts could take me well into 2025.

Today's share are these cute little gift boxes that I covered.  They reminded me of my beloved pencil box that I would get each year at the beginning of the school season.

I thought these would be great for holding small gifts, but for photo purposes I filled them with chocolate.  That would make a fine gift too, I suppose!

This box is decked out with the Tim Holtz snowflake, which was a new favorite die that I got to work with this year.  It comes with these delightful ice skates.  I placed them over a vellum scalloped circle to soften the underneath.

I don't know why I have such fond memories of looking forward to school shopping and finding the perfect pencil box that would travel with me throughout the school year, as I walked to and from grade school every day.  (I lived directly across the street from the primary school, so it was very convenient.)

A second box was covered using more papers from Stampin' Up.  This one with woodland animals.

This box has another vellum scalloped circle, Tim Holtz Snowflake and cute little fox from CottageCutz.

My pencil boxes were like little treasure chests that I would keep special things in throughout the school year along with crisply sharpened pencils, a small 6" ruler, erasers and crayons.

If you've stuck with me through his post, thanks for indulging me while I reminisced of days gone by.

I'll be entering one of these projects into the following challenges:

Gingerbread ~ A Mini Album

Hello sweet friends!  I must have been obsessing on a sweet tooth when I made this Gingerbread Card because the ideas kept rolling around in my head, wanting to make more darling gingerbread themed things.

I made a mini album featuring more scrumptious gingerbread.  This giant mixing bowl made it's first appearance on the previous post for the Gingerbread card linked above.

I filled the bowl with a gingerbread man from Elizabeth Craft Design, a sugared up Candy Cane from Dee's Distinctively, a whisk from Spellbinders, some greenery and a ginger snap cookie.

I'm currently obsessed with the Gingerbread Baking Co. label from Blue Fern Studio.

A peek inside the mini album shows more fun gingerbread items, such as this fun little tea cup from Elizabeth Craft Design.  She's filled with hot cocoa and mini marshmallows.  The Hot Cocoa label on the right is a printable I found on Etsy.  The tab flaps open so you can add a photo and some journaling.

Look at what's hiding at the bottom of the tag!  A simple gingerbread cookie made using circle and scalloped circle dies from Spellbinders.  The faces are from Peachy Keen Stamps.  So fun!

Both of these pages have little tuck spots for photo's, ephemera or journaling.  Another one of those sweet printables from Etsy is tucked in on the right.  You'll see more on that below.

I found this polka dotted paper sack in my stash and made a little tag for more creative space.  The Plum Pudding is from Elizabeth Craft Design.

This is the little journaling booklet I made to tuck inside the tuck spot on the right side of the album, featuring another sweet gingerbread man from Cottage Cutz.

I adore how this mini album turned out, tied closed with a ginger spice plaid ribbon.

I hope you enjoyed today's post.  I'd like to enter this project into the following challenges:

Gingerbread ~ My Favorite Color

Breath in slowly...
Do you smell that?

That's the smell of gingerbread fresh from the oven!

When my kids were young, they used to love making gingerbread cookies.  Cutting them with all the different shapes and then decorating them with icing and chocolate chips.

I whipped up this sweet gingerbread card using a gingerbread die from Cottage Cutz.  The large mixing bowl is from The Stamps of Life.

I think I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Shamrocks, Clover and Leprechauns ~ Double D Challenges

Double D Challenges is starting a new challenge today and the theme is "Green / Clover / Shamrocks / Luck".  So have fun with it!!

I don't have any shamrock or leprechaun dies or stamps, except that I did find this little mouse from Cottage Cutz and he's holding a clover leaf.  Does that count?  And look at this free printable I found online.  "Clover Leaf Dairy".  I think I can make them work!

The cutie little mouse is colored with Copics and the flowers are leftovers from a previous project I found sitting in my die box.  Peony Fantasy from Pinkfresh Studio.  They're so pretty heat embossed in silver.

It may not be everyone's style, but I had to make it work with what I had on hand.

Be sure to scamper on over to the Double D Challenge blog to see how my team mates were inspired.

Here's the inspiration board to help get you started.  There's always a prize up for grabs to one randomly selected winner from the U.S.

Winter Church ~ Double D Challenge

Hello friends ~ This is the last challenge of 2023 for Double D Challenges.  The theme is Winter Scene.

For my card today, I used this beautiful Winter Church from Cottage Cutz, that was gifted to me by my thoughtful friend Lena.

So many amazing details included in this die set.  I cut the entire die out of white cardstock and colored the pieces using Copic markers.  I added a bit of Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide Ink in the background to help the scene pop.

I mounted the die scene onto this silver snowflake framed card base that I had picked up at Michael's Craft Store during their after Christmas clearance sale of last year.

Be sure to visit the Double D Challenge blog to see more amazing inspiration from the amazing design team.

Here's the inspiration photo to help you get started:

Here's the prize that you could win when you play along:

I'll also be adding this card to the Word Art Wednesday Challenge, where anything goes.

The Great Outdoors ~ Double D Challenge

It's time once again for a new challenge over at Double D Challenge.  This week the theme is The Great Outdoors.  So fun!
My great nephew recently celebrated being 7 and he's into boy scouts and camping, so I thought this little Campin' Out Fox & Camp Fire from Cottage Cutz would be a cute place to start.

He's so cute roasting his tiny little marshmallows over the open fire.  The sign is also from Cottage Cutz and the Majestic Mountains are from Poppy Stamps.

The talented Double D team members have been at it again, coming up with some amazing inspiration for you based on the mood board below.
I hope you'll stop by Double D Challenges to see more, then join in on the fun.
