Lighted Box Ornaments

Hello crafting friends!  Today's crafty share are these darling box ornaments.

You may recall that I've made several of these in past posts.  They're so fun to make and you don't need any special supplies to make them.
I used a Spellbinders Label die to make the front and back of the box, cutting the center using an oval die.  I simply covered the inside and front of the box with patterned papers

and filled them with printed die cuts from Pretty Little Studio.  I also added some die cuts from Prima Marketing Candy Cane Lane collection.

This year, to spice them up, I added some fairy lights to the inside of the ornaments by punching a hole in the back of the ornament and adhering the power button onto the back side of the ornaments.

These went to my two little sweeties so they could hang them on their Christmas trees.

This little elf went to this little elf

Our sweet Mr. "C" turned two years old in September.

and this jolly old fella with pink candy canes went to our Sweet "P".
She just turned two this month.  Hubby and I flew out to celebrate her special day.

Oh how I love being a Mimi to them!
I hope you enjoyed today's project.
I'll be entering one of these into the following challenges:

Spring Curio Box

Hello friends~ After getting 17" of snow dumped on us last week from a spring nor' easter and losing power for two days, I'm eagerly looking for any signs of spring in our neck of the woods.

I find solace and comfort and the hope of spring in my craft room amidst the beautiful paper flowers.

I made this spring bunny curio box using Mintay Papers Spring is Here Collection.

The flowers and butterflies in the die cut pack are so colorful and pretty.  I layered two of the butterflies to add dimension, and a dose of WOS to add sparkle, which is slightly visible in the photo.  In real life it is very sparkly.

This little bunny and more layered flowers were just what my longing heart needed.

The box was made using Tim Holtz Curio Box.

This picture shows pretty well, all the layers and beautiful papers.

I hope you're enjoying spring weather where ever you are.  As of today, most of the snow has melted and the spring bulbs that were buried under the snow have blossomed and bring joy and hope to my heart!

I'll be adding this project to the following challenges:

Valentine Ornament Box

Hello friends.  Valentine's Day is on the horizon, so I thought I'd share another box ornament with you.

I hope you don't mind seeing more of these boxes.  They're just so much fun to make!

I used an image from Pretty Little Studio for this little darling.

Look closely and you'll see that I added some silver garland to the inside edges of the box.  I used various dies from my arsenal that are ages old.

The millinery flowers are from Really Reasonable Ribbon.  They have an amazing selection of flowers in every size and color.

While I had my supplies out I made another box ornament, as I'm trying to use up some supplies.  And, why not?

I don't even remember who made these die cuts or where they came from, but the colors matched these paper scraps perfectly and I love watching the birds at our feeders.

Making these ornament boxes makes me happy, so I'll be entering one of these into the Cut It Up Challenge, where the theme is "This Makes Me Happy".

Do you feel like sticking around?  Here's a few more pictures of the Valentine decorations I've put up.  I cut a bunch of paper hearts from paper scraps and made this little garland to string across our mantel.

Close ups of the decor from left to right.

I made a smaller garland to add to this arched frame.

Did you notice this darling little snapshots book in the picture above?  I found it at Goodwill many years ago and it had never been used.  It has the old paper pages that you had to use photo mounting corners to add pictures.  I just love the image on the cover and it still looks brand new.

Some old apothecary jars filled with heart fillers and paper shred.

If you've stuck with me this long, I thank you so much!  I know this was a picture heavy post.

Do you send out Valentine's Day cards?  I've got a post planned soon for some vintage style Valentine cards that I made.  I do hope you'll come back to see them.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Vintage Easter Box Ornament ~ Double D Challenges

The Easter season is upon and my friends at Double D Challenge want to help inspire you.  There's a new challenge starting today and the theme is "Easter".

My make for this challenge was this sweet, vintage inspired Easter box ornament, using lots of found goodies in my craft room.  I didn't use any new supplies to make this, as I've made several of these in the past.

I've used the Passport Book BIGZ die from Sizzix to make the box ornament.  Unfortunately this die has been retired for quite some time but it's still one of my favorite dies.  I covered the outside of the box with a soft blue scrapbook paper and added some flower rub-ons from Stamperia.  The  flowers came from Hobby Lobby and the bunny is a die cut from Frantic Stamper.  The Easter banner is cut from a retired Graphic 45 paper pad.

Inside the box, you'll find this sweet image that was also cut from the Graphic 45 paper pad, along with a die cut chick from Dies R Us as well as a couple of sparkly Easter eggs from Michael's Craft Store.  I lined the inside bottom of the box with craft moss to give all the elements a place to sit.

You can check out the other ornament boxes I've made in the past:
