Beautifully Stenciled Christmas Florals ~ Spellbinders

Hello friends ~  I'm delighted to be sharing today's cards I made using products from Spellbinders newest Classic Christmas release.

I had the opportunity to work with the Christmas Florals Stencils & Sentiments dies.  Can I just say, I'm smitten with this stencil set!  I pulled out so many colors of Distress Oxides Inks, my craft room was one big mess, haha! But one good mess.  ;0)  Let me show you the cards I made.
Card #1:
I did all the stenciling for three cards I'm sharing with you today using the following colors of DOX inks:  Salvaged Patina, Broken China, Worn Lipstick, Candied Apple, Dried Marigold, Rusty Hinge, Shabby Shutters, Peeled Paint and Walnut Stain.
In Focus:
Christmas Florals is a 5 stencil set and the details are incredible!!  I cut the first panel out using the coordinating die set, which includes all the finely cut sentiments you'll see on each card.  I cut two layers using the die to add stability and thickness to the card.  Check out that sentiment strip.  I love the delicate lettering on the sentiment dies!

Card #2:
I die cut the stenciled image out again for card #2 and simply mounted it onto a layered card base using black and red.
The red card really pops in real life!

Card #3:
For the third card, I wanted to keep the panel whole, just mounting it to an A2 sized card base.  Easy peasy!!

Thank you for starting your week off with me and spending part of your day visiting my blog.  I appreciate you guys!!

I hope you enjoyed your visit here today, and I especially hope you'll stop by Spellbinders to see their entire Classic Christmas release and all the New Arrivals.

Santa Lane Floral Die Cut Shapes ~ Spellbinders

Good morning, friends!  It's mid-August and I can already feel a crispness in the air and a change in temperature.  Fall is around the corner and winter, not far behind.  As much as I am a "summer-girl", I do love autumn as well.  Winter however..... not so much.  One thing I do love about winter is seeing all the beautiful, new winter and Christmas products that are released each season.  The Spellbinders store is loaded with lots of new collections, including the Santa Lane Limited Edition Cardmaking Christmas KitThis HUGE kit includes over 300 Pieces and will create over 25 Holiday cards with TONS of leftover embellishments and materials to spare.

For my first card, I started by stenciling the grid pattern in the background, using Antique Linen and Abandoned Coral DOX inks.  I then splattered some gold flecks over the background and set it aside to dry.  The beautiful poinsettias are part of the Santa Lane Floral Die Cut Shapes.  They look so real, and I love the watercolor style.

I layered the poinsettias over foliage from Glitter Die Cut Foliage, from Celebrate the Season collection, and added a sentiment is from the Santa Lane Sticker Pack.

I added some gold stickles to the centers of each flower and finished the card of with gold sequins.

For my second card, I used the Starburst Glimmer Hot Foil Plate to create the background, using Matte Silver Hot Foil Roll

I added a hand trimmed banner using printed paper and added this beautiful winter bouquet die from the Santa Lane Floral Die Cut Shapes.  I added some stickles to the edge of some of the petals to add dimension and interest.

The sentiment is from Christmas Puffy Sentiment Stickers, while the red sequins finished the card.

That's it for my offerings for you today.  I'm so glad you stopped in for a visit.  You can find all the newly released collections HERE and take a peek and what's COMING SOON.  As a bonus, Spellbinders is giving $20 off your next $100 purchase.

Vintage Style Christmas Card ~ Double D Challenge ~ Poinsettia

Good morning stamping friends.  There's a new challenge starting today over at Double D Challenge.  The theme is "Poinsettia".

What a grand opportunity to use the Sizzix Poinsettia Texture Fades Embossing Folder again!  This was designed from a real vintage Christmas poinsettia. You may recall this post here, where I made a similar card.  I embossed a panel of 140 lb Canson Watercolor Paper and water colored it using Zig Kuretake Gansai Tambi Watercolor Paint.

Once it was dry, I rubbed my Tsukineko Essential Glue Pad randomly over the top and sprinkled on some Studio Katia Icy Sparkle Crystals.

It's so pretty in real life.  The sentiment is from PTI.  I thought it had a nice vintage style font to it.

I hope you'll join in on the fun by clicking here

Vintage Christmas

Cyber Monday!  Who would have ever thought 100 years ago that there would be such a thing as "Cyber Monday".  I wonder what it will be like another 100 years from now??  ....Anyway, I thought I'd stop in and share a few vintage Christmas cards that I've made using some of my favorite Tim Holtz supplies.  They're all on sale today as part of the big Cyber Monday sale over at Scrapbook.com.  This is a picture heavy post, so I'll try to be quick in my descriptions.

These first two cards use Festive Trims Colorize, one of the newer die sets that I'm really enjoying this year.

This card features Thinlits Christmas Ribbon and snowshoes from PTI.  The vintage style font of the die cut sentiment is timeless.

You've seen this Poinsettia 3D Texture Fades Embossing Folder used in a previous post on the next card.  It looks as great here, simply embossed, as it does colored up.

These tags using Santa's Helper Thinlits Dies are adorable!  I love this jolly little elf balancing his packages.

On these next few cards, I heat embossed the vintage style sentiments from one of the Stampers Anonymous Christmas sets in silver and gold using beautiful vintage papers from Stamperia.

I added Christmas greens using Holiday Greens ThinlitsChristmas Washi Tape, and various Christmas ephemera pieces to the last three cards.

I hope you'll visit Scrapbook.com to check out their Cyber Monday sale and be sure to add the freebie to your cart.

Vintage Water Color Poinsettia ~TSOC ~ Embossing

Hello everyone!  Have you seen the Tim Holtz 3D Texture Fades Poinsettia embossing folder yet?  It actually came out in August and that is when I'm typing up this blog post, so by the time you're reading this, it's probably "old hat".  But it's still awesome!!  It's one of those fabulous vintage / retro style images that is actually taken from a real vintage postcard.

The Sisterhood of Crafters is starting a new challenge today and the theme is "Embossing" so I thought this was the perfect opportunity to break this embossing folder in.

I embossed the image onto a piece of Prima Cold Press Watercolor Paper and painted it using Kuretake Gansai Tombi Watercolor Paints

After the completed panel was dry, I rubbed the Tsukineko Essential Glue Pad randomly over the top and sprinkled on some clear German Glass Glitter to complete the vintage look.

Now it's YOUR turn to play along.  You can find all the details at The Sisterhood of Crafters or by clicking here.  We look forward to seeing what you create!
