Hello Happiness ~ Double D Challenges

Good morning friends ~ Double D Challenges is starting up a new challenge and this one is one that I think everyone should enter.

The theme is "Patterned Paper".  Now who doesn't have a pile of that sitting around???  I know I have plenty so I was happy to use some up for this challenge.

Not only did I use up some patterned paper but also this lovely preprinted die cut.  It came already glittered, so this card came together so quickly.

The floral paper I used on this is ages old but still so very pretty.

Dig out your scrapbook paper friends and join in on the fun. Here's a link to the Double D Challenge blog where you'll see more amazing inspiration from my talented team mates.

Here's the inspiration board:

And here's what you could win if you play along:

Happy crafting and thanks for stopping by!

Vintage Water Color Poinsettia ~TSOC ~ Embossing

Hello everyone!  Have you seen the Tim Holtz 3D Texture Fades Poinsettia embossing folder yet?  It actually came out in August and that is when I'm typing up this blog post, so by the time you're reading this, it's probably "old hat".  But it's still awesome!!  It's one of those fabulous vintage / retro style images that is actually taken from a real vintage postcard.

The Sisterhood of Crafters is starting a new challenge today and the theme is "Embossing" so I thought this was the perfect opportunity to break this embossing folder in.

I embossed the image onto a piece of Prima Cold Press Watercolor Paper and painted it using Kuretake Gansai Tombi Watercolor Paints

After the completed panel was dry, I rubbed the Tsukineko Essential Glue Pad randomly over the top and sprinkled on some clear German Glass Glitter to complete the vintage look.

Now it's YOUR turn to play along.  You can find all the details at The Sisterhood of Crafters or by clicking here.  We look forward to seeing what you create!

Thanks for stopping by!

Give Thanks Gift Bags / Thanksgiving ~ DRU

Hello friends ~  There's a new challenge starting up today over at the Dies R Us Challenge blog and the theme is "Give Thanks", so for today's project I made some hostess thank you bags.  I can tuck in some hand lotion and body wash, candy or some small gift as a way to say "thanks" for being you.
These were super simple since I started with pre-made brown paper gift sacks like the kind you used to find at Michael's or AC Moore.  I cut the bag down to half size using a pinked edge paper trimmer and adhered two brown gingham ribbon handles.

I then added Lawn Fawn Outside In Stitched Pumpkin and Stitched Pumpkin Frame, also using the leaves and vines from the sets.  There are so many thank you dies in the store to choose from.  This one is an older, retired die from Poppystamps.

What are some creative ways you can think of to say "thanks"?  What would you put in these little bags?  I'd love to hear your ideas!

I'll be adding this project to the following challenges:
Cut It Up ~ Thanksgiving Bags or Boxes

You can find all the details of this challenge and join in on the fun by clicking here.  You simply need to use at least one die from a brand that is carried in the store and  you could be the next winner of a DRU Gift Certificate!

I wanted to remind you that we have some exciting news to share with you.  Dies R Us now has opened a sister store with warehouses in the USA and Canada called Didi Crafts

It will ship to both the US and Canada.  Didi Crafts will carry some of the same products as DRU, but most will be different.  Now our Canadian friends don't have to worry about huge taxes or shipping fees. How great is that!?!  We'd love for you to visit by clicking on the links above or by clicking here.

Sunflowers & Smiles ~ Double D Challenge

Hello friends~  It's time for a new challenge over at Double D Challenges.
This week, the theme is Sunflowers:

I used Cheery Lynn's Sunflower Set, which is an oldie but a goodie die set.  I dug through my scrap box and found these two pieces of printed scrapbook paper that seemed to compliment each other pretty well.  I cut them using Elizabeth Craft Designs Stitched Rectangles.

The sentiment is stamped using Elizabeth Craft Designs "Little Words That Mean A Lot" and then cut using Impression Obsession Fancy Label die.

Here's what you could win when you play along:

I hope to see you there.

Hippity Hoppity Easter's On It's Way!

Good morning stamplings~  How are you doing dealing with all this social isolation and mandatory time out at home?  I confess that it's been harder on me than I originally thought it would be, but thanks to my sweet friends and design team mates from Double D's Challenges, they've lifted my spirits and brightened my outlook.   I've been spending way too much time sitting on the couch watching waaaayyyy too much news.  So my dear friend Darlene from Dar's Crafty Creations challenged me to get off the couch and get crafty.

Many All of my team mates from Double D's Challenge has joined in on a challenge going on over at Cut It Up, this is a new challenge blog for me and one I think I'll be visiting more often.  The challenge is to follow the theme and be sure to use  a die cut.  We all have lots of those, right?

I've had these Sizzix Bunny Hop dies sitting in my pile of NBUS just begging to be used.  I love the playful, dancing images of these darling bunnies and paired with the Funky Foliage dies, they're a match made in heaven.

Don't these bunnies just make your heart glad?  The over sized Easter egg is from Memory Box Half Dozen Eggs.  I added a bow to each of these fine fella's from Lil' Inkers Bunnies & Bows.  The grass is cut using Elizabeth Craft Designs Adventure Edges and everything is framed using Elizabeth Craft Designs Stitched Rectangles.

I hope you're staying well and keeping a healthy outlook during this difficult time in our world.  It will pass eventually and never again will I take for granted, the freedom to visit friends and family and the ability to take a deep breath.  Nor will I ever forget the gift of friendship to lift my spirits.

Below are links so you can visit each of my friends blogs to see their creations for this challenge:

I'll also be adding one of these cards to the following challenges:

Word Art Wednesday ~ Anything Goes
