Hello~ I want to start by saying thank you to those of you who've left such kind words on my last post on the loss of my mom. The pain I feel at times is indescribable and I never knew the pain of hurting so badly as I do now. Each day brings new strengths and new struggles but I know that the Lord is with me, sees my tears and knows my hurt. I am truly thankful for the care and concern I've received by all those who knew my mom, our family or me and also thankful for those of you who are willing to put yourselves forth and offer comfort here in blogland.
Here's a couple more thank you cards that I was able to complete the other day.
Both of these cards use PTI's Favorite Flowers. The mason jar is from PTI's Friendship Jar. The sentiment on the first card is from PTI's Lovely Layers and the sentiment on the second card is from Simon Says Stamp Beautiful Words.
Here's another card using Friendship Jar, in the same style as the first card that I saw on Nichole Heady's blog quite a long time ago.
I heat embossed the jar and hydrangeas in white and colored them in lightly with my copics.
Happiness In Bloom from PTI was used on this card, creating a very soft background for the butterfly from Sweet N' Sassy Stamps "New Beginnings", which is heat embossed in gold on vellum. The scalloped edge was cut using MFT's Stitched Scallop Edges and then edged with a gold paint pen.
I'll enter one or more of these cards into the following challenges:
Simon Says Monday Challenge
Simon Says Wednesday Challenge
Word Art Wednesday Challenge
Thanks for your words of comfort and thanks for stopping by!
Blessings~ Birgit
This is the most difficult post I've ever written, and I'm not even sure if I want to or can share this. My mom passed away unexpectedly two days after Mother's Day, on May 12. I'm so broken and lost and still having moments of disbelief. Each day moving forward without my mom is a struggle and the beginning of a new journey that I wish I didn't have to be on. Even making cards is a struggle. I am now in need of many thank you cards, for the prayers, meals, phone calls, visits, flowers, plants and cards we've received. I finally was able to focus my attention to making these, much needed thank you cards.
I turned to the inspiration of different challenge boards (as I always have) to help me gain focus. This card was made using the Sweet Sunday Sketch
I also used the colors from Color Throwdown
Products Used:
Stitched Speech Bubble Edges ~ MFT
Petite Pots ~ PTI
Polka Dot Background ~ MFT
Beautiful Words ~ Simon Says Stamp
This card is done using the technique from Melissa Phillips using chalks over the stamped images to soften the stamped images. It's CASED from Melissa's Make-it-Monday video. I simply changed up the layout of the card using MFT's Blueprints and some printed paper. The sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp, Beautiful Words. This set has become heavily used in the making of my thank you's.
I'll enter these cards into the following challenges:

Thanks for stopping by. Blessings~ Birgit
Good Monday morning! Today's card uses the sketch from Happy Little Stampers
Here's my card:
I used PTI's Beautiful Butterflies to create the sweetly multi-colored panel of fluttering butterflies. The sentiment is from MFT's butterfly set.
I'm also entering this card into the Simon Says Wednesday Challenge.
Thanks so much for looking! Blessings~ Birgit
I have one more card for the Simon Says Monday Challenge using colors from ColourQ.

So I've made a couple of cards for the Simon Says Monday Challenge focusing on the color, coral.
This card uses MFT's Blueprints #20 for the two top panels. I stamped the daisies from PTI's Favorite Flowers first onto the printed panel. The daisy petals are heat embossed in white. The Iris is die cut, stamped and popped up using foam tape. The sentiment is stamped from the same PTI set.
My next card using the technique that Melissa Phillips used on her recent MIM video using gelato's over stamped images. The design is pretty much a CASE of hers but I'm adding it here just because coral is the main color used.
I made a card and tag set for a mother's day gift set.
I'm also entering the first card into the following challenges:

Good Saturday morning! I'm getting these cards in just under the wire for the Color Throwdown Challenge.
I originally made this card to go along with the Sweet Sunday Sketch but I see it has an extra tail that the sketch doesn't have but I'll try it anyway.
The extra tail comes from the widest strip. I used my MFT Pierced Fishtail Banners to cut it and when I cut it to fit the panel, I had this cute little tail left over and just couldn't bare to throw it away so I added it to my card at the last minute, forgetting the details of the sketch. Oh well, it's still cute!
This is my next card using the same color palette because I was going to use two flowers on my first card until I realized they were just too large. So I get two for the price of one today!
One of these cards are each being entered into the following challenges:
Word Art Wednesday

Thanks so much for looking! Blessings~ Birgit
Melissa Phillips has a great video on using Gelato's over stamps for this weeks PTI Make-it Monday challenge.
I used PTI's Daydreamer set for my card. I found that I really enjoyed this technique and hope to try it again soon. I just love the dreamy, hazy look the Gelato's add to the stamped images. I'm a big fan of Melissa's style so I pretty much went with her idea all the way!
I'm also adding this into the Word Art Wednesday Challenge
