Happy Saturday~ I'm just popping in to add a card to the Seize the Birthday challenge, where right now, anything goes!
I used MFT's Banner Day Die's which have been in hiding for way too long! I cut two banners in different colors for each hat and from the top layer, I die cut some circles using the smallest circle from Spellbinders stackabilities. The pompom's are made using Lil' Inkers small sunshine. The trim on the hats is cut using PTI's Nostalgic Notions die. The sentiment is an oldie from MFT, sorry I don't know the name of the set.
Here's another "just for fun" card:
I'll also be adding one of these cards to the following challenges:
Word Art Wednesday
Work It Wednesday
Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge ~ Anything goes
Thanks so much for visiting my blog! Blessings~ Birgit
It's that time of the month when my sweet friend Marcia and I post our cards for our monthly challenge. We were both so enamored by the colors used in the new card kit that MFT came out with and we both missed the boat on purchasing the kit, so we decided to do the best with what we had and re-create our own cards using similar colors.
Here is a sampling of the colors used in the kit
I don't have many MFT colors of cardstock so here's a list of what I used:
MFT's Berrylicious, PTI's New Leaf, Winter Wisteria, Neenah Desert Sand and from Stampin' Up, Tempting Turquois and Eggplant.
Here's my cards:
Using PTI's "Daydreamer"
Using PTI's "Doodlie-Do" and sentment from Simon Says Stamp
Using PTI's "Brushed Blooms"
Using PTI's "Petite Pots"
Using MFT's "Spring Tulips"
I'll be adding one of these cards to the following challenges:
The Sisterhood of Crafters ~ Spring
Word Art Wednesday
City Crafters ~ Polka Dots
Simon Says Stamp Work It Wednesday
Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge ~ Anything goes
Be sure to stop by Marcia's blog to see her beautiful creations. She's sure to WOW you, as always!!
Thanks so much for stopping by! Blessings~ Birgit
Hello all you PTI fans~ Don't you love this time of the month when we get to see such a beautiful inspiration photo as a jumping point for the PTI blog hop?!?
I do!
Here's their fabulous inspiration photo:
Talk about gorgeous, right?
I loved playing with these colors and lots of different elements to make a collage style card.
I started with a Rustic Cream card base and did a little stenciling in the background using Abandoned Coral distress ink. The fern leaf is cut using a spellbinders die and I made a little invoice using a stamp from Cornish Heritage Farms, stamped in Soft Stone ink. From there, I stamped one of the sweet butterflies from Beautiful Butterflies, in Spring Moss, Simply Chartreuse and Ripe Avacado. The roses from Sweet Life were stamped using Memento's Angel Pink and PTI's Sweet Blush and Berry Sorbet. The leaves are stamped in Simply Chartreuse. I added a sentiment and die cut in Dark Chocolate using PTI's Big Hugs and finished it off with a few light colored sequins, as seen in the photo.
I really love this color combo and the opportunity to make a collage style card.
Sometimes it's just fun to step outside of the ordinary and do something different.
I'll also be adding this to the following challenges:
Word Art Wednesday
The Sisterhood of Crafters ~ Spring
Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge ~ Anything goes
Enjoy hopping!!

I'm playing along with this week's Papertrey Ink, Make-It Monday series with Lexi Daily. Her technique was using rubber cement to resist water color and I didn't think I'd get to play along because I don't have any rubber cement, until I read Colleen's blog and discovered that she used a masking pen. That I do have, so yippee! And thanks Colleen for the great tip! I thank God for my friends, who are smarter than me. ;0)
I used Phrase Play #4 to start with and cut the balloons from my water color resist piece of cardstock using the small balloon from Heart 2 Heart #2 and the big balloon from Birthday Style.
You can find all the details on Nichole's blog HERE.

Hooray! I found time this morning to get crafty and join in on the fun at Merry Monday where the theme for this week is "Bells".
I started with a piece of water color cardstock and stamped some pine boughs from PTI's Peaceful Pinecones and WPlus9's Merry & Bright, using Peeled Paint, Pine Needles and Brushed Corduroy distress inks and spraying the inked stamps with water first before stamping them onto my cardstock. I also gave the panel a color wash using Peeled Paint distress ink. Once that was dry, I lightly stamped on a Christmas Script background in gold, using Sweet N' Sassy Stamps, Light of Christmas. The bells were added from PTI's Bells & Boughs. I also heat embossed the sentiment, from Bells & Boughs, in gold.

Happy Saturday friends! Today's card is perfect for the CASology challenge where the keyword is "EGG".
I used the chick and egg dies from Quickutz and added them to the seed packet from PTI. The sentiment is from PTI's Easter Alleluia's. I did a little sponging in the background to give it some color and added some sequins to finish this off.
I actually made quite a few of these with different designs and Easter images so you may see them popping up every now and then.
I'll also be adding this card to the Word Art Wednesday challenge.
Thanks so much for stopping by! Blessings~ Birgit
Sorry for another post today but I'm trying hard to keep up with the celebration challenges going on over at PTI. Today's challenge was using the alphabet and your last name, with each letter representing a particular task. I used the first four letters of my last name, so mine were:
"N" ~ using something "NEW"
"O" ~ Ombre
"R" ~ Rounded corners
"T" ~ Twine
Here's my card:
The butterfly coverplate is new and I had yet to use it so I inked up a piece of cardstock using ombre colors and used the coverplate to cut it. I then fussy cut one of the butterflies out of that. I rounded the bottom corners and added some twine and sequins. The sentiment from Phrases and Praises is embossed in silver and the leaves are cut using a die from Songbirds.
I wasn't too sure how I was going to like this challenge but it turned out to be really fun for me! I've had such a fun time seeing everyone's creations during this celebration and just wanted to thank everyone at PTI for all their hard work in making this such a fantastic anniversary!
Thanks so much for stopping by! Blessings~ Birgit
Happy Valentine's Day friends~ I combined PTI's challenge from Friday and Saturday and came up with this thank you card to send to their warehouse staff. The colors I landed on with the color pop fortune teller were Hawaiian Shores, New Leaf and Ripe Avocado.
I used a stripe from Watercolor Wonder and stamped the edge of my card and on another panel, stamped the butterflies from Beautiful Butterflies. I embossed the sentimet from Fancy Folkart in silver. I used my powder bag generously on my card before adding the embossing powder because I didn't want to to stick anywhere else and the funny thing is some silver embossing powder only stuck to the butterfly stamped in Ripe Avocado. At first I wasn't happy but then I realized it looked kind of good and added some bling to the butterfly. I'm glad it turned out to be a happy accident.
Thanks so much for stopping by today and I hope you all have a day filled with lots of love from family and friends! Hugs~ Birgit
The fun continues over at Nichole's blog. Yesterday's challenge was to create a sampler of 1 1/2" squares and make them into a square card.
I used PTI's Button Stacks along with kraft, Hawaiian Shores, Aqua Mist, Spring Rain and Pure Poppy to stack up these fun buttons. The sentiment is from Botanical Blocks.
Thanks so much for stopping by! Blessings~ Birgit
Happy Tuesday~ I'm playing along with PTI's Create Along With Us challenge this week.
I chose this fun card from Betsy as inspiration:
I made mine using inlaid die cuts because this is going to be mailed out. but otherwise it's pretty much a CASE of her sweet card.
I used some flowers from Doodlie-Do and colored them up with Zig watercolor pens. I used the Thanks die from Still Life Summer and cut it out of gold paper. I really love the gold against the black. So pretty!
ETA: I decided after looking at this card again, that it needed more gold so I added some sequins. I like it even better!
Sorry for the poor quality. It was dark when I took this, but you get the idea.

I'm playing along with this week's Merry Monday challenge where the theme is "Santa". MFT came out with a fun little die set to make these amazing Santa suits. Unfortunately, I didn't get the set but I thought I'd see what I could do to replicate my own using dies I already had. Easy Peasy!
I simply cut a white strip and a black strip of cardstock for both his belt and the trim of his suit. The buttons were cut using button stax. The buckle of Santa's belt was cut using one of MFT's Blueprints dies. I added a glittery snowflake, a candy cane cut from PTI's Candy Cane Christmas and a little black bow from another Blueprints die.
Here's another card I made using the same idea.
It's always a fun challenge for me to see how I can make similar cards using supplies that I already own. The MFT Santa Suit set is still on my wish list though...
I'm also adding one of these cards to the following challenges:

I'm here with a card I made for the PTI Make-It Monday challenge where Melissa has us making Valentine's using ombre stamping. Confession time...
I watched the video on Monday and didn't check out the blog again until today when I got ready to link up my card. I forgot to make it a Valentine's card! I hope it will still count for the challenge.
I used the strawberry from Still Life Summer and that's where you'll find my ombre stamping. The colors I used were Melon Berry, Pure Poppy and Scarlet Jewel. (I just noticed that the strawberries are shaped like hearts so it's all good!) I poured the strawberries into PTI's sweet little die cut tea cup and used a sentiment from Choose Joy. I added some pretty little flowery details from that set for added interest.
I even prettied up the inside of the card.
