Cupcake Inspirations Challenge #382 ~ A Color Challenge

Hello friends~  The week's slip by so quickly, I can hardly believe we're ready for another challenge over at Cupcake Inspirations.
Are you ready for the spooky cute COLOR inspiration?  Use the colors chartreuse, white and grape or colors like them on your project this week.

This week's sponsor is 7 Kids College Fund
and they're generously giving away a $20 store Gift Certificate so you'll definitely want to play along!!

Before we get to my card, I have a disclaimer to make.  For some reason this card photographed extremely hard and the colors didn't come out how it really looks at all.  So I apologize for the harsh look of the photo.  It really much cuter in real life.
I started by embossing a white card stock panel with a brick embossing folder and randomly rubbing some limeade ice ink over the bricks.  I made the door and steps myself out of some purple card stock and rubbed a bit of white ink around the panels of the door so they'd stand out.  I cut the web and spider out of white card stock using Frantic Stampers "Spider Web Corner" and colored the spider black with a marker.  The ghost is also from Frantic Stampers "Cute Halloween Icons".  I backed up his eyes with more limeade ice card stock. The urn and greens are from Taylored Expressions "Door To Door Decor" set.  I stamped the sentiment from MFT's "Primitive Pumpkin" onto the bottom step.

Be sure to visit all the fabulous designers to see how they've used these fun colors together!

Pumpkin Moon

It's almost time for the pumpkin moon!
Here's a card that I made that fits perfectly into the color scheme at ColorQ Challenge.
I started by blending some distress inks onto the background in Dusty Concord, Abandoned Coral, Orange Marmalade and Mustard Seed.  I then spritzed it with some shimmer spray to make it shine.  The background die is cut using Die-Versions Gents Background.  I added two Dee's Distinctively Retro Cats and dressed one up with a Memory Box Stitched Bow.  The Impression Obsession Pumpkin moon is mounted onto a retro shaped die from PTI Stamp-A-Faire 1960's set.

I love the retro feel of this fun card!
I'll also be adding this card to the following challenges:
The Sisterhood of Crafters ~ Pumpkin / Orange
Word Art Wednesday ~ Anything Goes

Marcia, Patti and me ~ A Challenge Between Friends

Hello friends~ It's nearing the end of October already... my how time does fly!  That means that it's time for Marcia, Patti and I to share our challenge creations with you.  This month we chose an "anything goes for fall" theme.

I'll jump right in with my cards:
#1
I used MFT's Leaves and Impression Obsession's "Thankful" die.  The rest of the sentiment is from PTI's First Fruits.  I inked up the leaf images and spritzed them with water before stamping them onto water color paper and then added some ink splatters with a wet brush.

#2
I used Simon Says Stamp monthly kit "Nuts About You" for this card.  The little acorn embellishments are so cute!!

#3

#4
I just had to throw in a primitive and a vintage card for this challenge.  This card uses an old stamp from Twigs' Primitive Collection ~ Pumpkin Harvest.  The sentiment is an old wood mounted stamp from Inky Antics and the sunflowers are from Frantic Stamper.

#5
Here's my vintage style card using Clearly Besotted Sunshine and Smiles colored up with copics.  The background is stamped using a Heidi Swapp background.

I'll also be adding one of these cards to the following challenges:
The Sisterhood of Crafters ~ Pumpkin / Orange
Word Art Wednesday ~ Anything Goes
Crop Stop!  ~ Anything Goes

PTI October Blog Hop

Hello~~ I'm playing along with this month's PTI Bloghop.  Here's the pretty fall inspiration Nichole picked out.
Blog Hop

Here's my take on this:
I started by cutting a piece of wood plank patterned paper using a stitched rectangle.  I cut a smaller stitched rectangle out of parchment paper and stamped a music print in the background using Fine Linen ink.  I then stamped and heat embossed a sentiment from New Every Morning, in black.  The corner spray is made using Holiday Greens.
I popped the largest pine cone from Holiday Greens up using a foam square to add depth and dimension.

I sure would appreciate your time to leave a comment.  They're always much appreciated and I can be sure to visit you in return!

Dies R Us ~ Christmas Stockings

Good morning friends~  It's my turn to inspire you over at the Dies R Us Inspiration Blog today!

I've got two Christmas stocking cards ready to send to someone on my Christmas card list this year.
Here's the details:
I started by cutting all my shapes out of white and colored card stock.  I'm totally in love with the Penny Black Christmas Stocking Die!  It has two layers, so you can use them individually or layer them, like I've done on these cards.

I also cut the Dee's Distinctively Candy Cane Die and the Memory Box Stitched Holly Leaves out of white card stock and colored them in using copics.  I added some details using a white gel pen.  I snipped the Dee's Distinctively Pine Sprigs into smaller sections and played around with designs to fill the stocking with.

This is the adorable little stocking all filled with goodies.  Isn't it sweet??  I also added some Glossy Accents to the berries to make them shine.

Next I cut a Memory Box Open Studio Stitched Rectangle and added some distress ink while it was still in the die, giving the result of a white border around the edge of the die.  I then stamped some soft colored snowflakes in the background.

For this card, I used a postage stamp to back up the front panel.  Dies R Us has many wonderful postage stamp dies to choose from.  You can find them all right HERE.

This card is laid out using some printed papers.  I also stamped a music print background onto a piece of grey colored card stock to add a bit more detail.  Once I got all the printed papers lined up the way I want them, I cut the whole panel using a stitched rectangle die.  The sentiment is heat embossed in gold onto a stitched banner.

Here's the list of dies I used that can be found at Dies R Us:

    Gingham and Flowers

Good morning friends!  I'm popping on real quick to make a last minute entry into the Sisterhood Of Crafters Challenge where the theme is "Gingham and Flowers".  I can't think of a more perfect pair!

I used Dee's Distinctively Flowers #1 and #3 and added some stickles to the centers for texture and interest.  I added some leaves from an Elizabeth Craft Sunflower that's been discontinued and some berries from WPlus9 Fresh Cut Floral.  I tucked them all in a PTI pint sized Mason Jar.

I'll also be adding this to the following challenges:

    Trick or Treats and PINK!

I thought I'd share these little treat packages I made up to give to all the "great little's" in my family.  Not too spooky, just cute.

I made these treat pockets using this video I found on Youtube.  I used the kitty from Frantic Stamper's Cute Halloween Icons.  There are several really cute dies in this set including the little bow ties.  I cut them out of blue for the little boys and yellow for the little girls.
Wrapped in cello bags and tied off with curly ribbon and a little tag.  These are going to be mailed out so the fact that they fit perfectly into these bags was a big bonus!

The older nieces and nephews will get these fun little treat packages I made using my envelope punch board following the directions I found HERE on Pinterest.

I used various pumpkins from two different sets including Impression Obsession Pumpkin Dies and PTI Autumn Pumpkin

I'll be entering one of these projects into the following challenges:

I also have a card for the Simon Says Wednesday Challenge ~ Think Pink
I cut a pretty plaid panel using an MFT Wonky Stitched Rectangle Die and a smaller one in white card stock.  I did a bit of ink blending on the white one and added this sweet Simon Says Stamp Radiant Sunflower.  I so adore this sweet flower!  The Marianne Designs deer seemed like the perfect little critter to add to the base of the sunflower.  The sentiment is from Our Daily Bread Designs.

PTI ~ Make-It Monday ~ Die Cut Stencils

I'm playing along with this week's Make-It Monday over at Nichole's blog.  Melissa Phillip's has a great video on using your die cuts as stencils.

    Here's my card:
I used the same snowflake die that Melissa used in the video 1. because I loved her background and I totally wanted to CASE it and 2.  I couldn't think of another large scale detailed die that I could use.  So my background looks similar to Melissa's and then I used the new Post and Parcel kit to finish off the card.  I'm completely smitten by this sweet set!!  There's a "snow" stamp in the set that you can use to heat emboss with white to make it look like snow on top of the mailbox,  but the first time I saw it in the release, I instantly thought of rust (hence my vintage loving heart).  So I tried making the mailbox look rusty using Canyon Clay and Americana inks instead of white.

I also have a bonus project to share with you.  I made a wedding themed mailbox card for a wedding that we went to over the weekend.
The colors were gold and Marine Corps blue.  The groom looked so handsome in his dress blues!  So those are the colors I used to create the mailbox using Gold embossing powder and Enchanted Evening ink.  I also used the leaves and a flower from the Garden Gild Make it Market Mini Kit.  I ran the flower through the xyron and added some Cool Diamond Silk Microfine Glitter
I stamped the gifts in Enchanted Evening and heat embossed the gold ribbons.  The sentiment is heat embossed as well.  Their monetary gift slipped right under the die cut ribbon.  Betsy truly thinks of every little detail to make these kits so special.

This was the other side of the postage insert.  I left space at the bottom to sign our names.

You can find all the details and Melissa's video HERE

I'm so happy that you stopped by to visit me today.
Your comments are always read and so much appreciated.

Dies R Us ~ A Candle For All Seasons

Good morning friends~  I'm up over at the Dies R Us Inspiration Blog and I've got some ideas on using one die for many different occasions.

Today's focus is on using Dee's Distinctively Dies ~ Candle Set.
First, let's talk about this fabulous candle!  I love the options with this set as there are two different styles of drips.  You can use only one or stack them for a more layered look.  The same with the flame.  Having the smaller flame adds even more dimension to this already awesome candle!!

Lets get started with the first card.
Shedding light on a Halloween-ish card:

     A Festive Christmas Card:
I used Elizabeth Craft Leaf and Berry BranchesDee's Distinctively Dies Wreath BuilderCheery Lynn Floral Bouquet and Elizabeth Craft Designs Pinecone.  The gold sprigs are cut using Impression Obsession Small Grass.  I added some red and gold stickles to the various berries on this card.
Edited to add:  because of the plaid background and good timing, I'll also be adding this card to the Merry Monday Christmas Challenge

     A Pretty Springtime Card:
I used Cheery Lynn Floral Bouquet on this spring colored card and added more colorful stickles to the berries and main flower.

    A festive Thanksgiving Card:

     A Wintery Snowflake Card:
I used Poppystamps Crystal Snowflake Corner Frame and Cheery Lynn Olive Branches on this card.  I added some gems to the centers of some snowflakes and added clear glitter to the dove.

Today's Creative Tip:  I cut all of the candles out of white card stock and colored them in using Copic Markers.  On some of the candles, I added heat embossed details according to what occasion the card was going to be used for.  The Christmas candle got a gold swirl treatment, the Thanksgiving candle got some gold stripes and the snowflake candle got some pretty silver snowflakes.  Look at the detail on each of the candles to see how they are "dressed up" for the occasion.  I also added some Wink Of Stella to the flames on each candle to make them sparkle.

Here's a list of products I used that can be found at Dies R Us:
