Here's a set of six Easter cards I made for the PaperTrey Ink Blog Hop Challenge. I had to do some fussy cutting, which isn't my favorite thing to do, but I was happy with how they all came out. I love the soft pastels all mixed together. I just mixed and matched until I was happy with each color combination and now I'm well into getting my Easter cards done for this year! Thanks for looking! Blessings~ Birgit
Hello friends~ As I was planning my masculine card for the "One For The Boys" challenge at Really Reasonable Ribbon, it struck me to take the same layout and base of the card and make one masculine and one feminine and see how they look side by side. Here's my cards:I had to use ribbon since it's a RRR challenge but what's a masculine card without metal? I added the square brad and an old key to give it some manliness. I added a bit of softness to the feminine card by using some cheesecloth and velour flowers with a button tied on. Now it's your turn! Make two exact card bases and turn one into a masculine card and one into a feminine one. If you do, leave me a comment. I'd love to come see what you did! Thanks for visiting. Blessings~ Birgit
Snow, snow, it's snowing again! Today found me in my craft room, snug and warm away from the snow that's falling again outside. I made this card to enter into the Baby Shower challenge at The Shabby Tea Room. I fell in love with all the soft colors in the inspiration photo and I tried to mimic the lovely banner on my card. Isn't it a dreamy picture?? ~~~Swoon~~~ Anyway, as I sit here and dream of the soft colors of spring, I'll share my card so you can dream too!If you click on the picture to enlarge it, you can see the pretty, soft colors of the banner. Thanks so much for looking! Blessings~ Birgit
Hello fellow craft hoarders~ I'm here with a card to enter into the Craft Hoarders Anonymous Challenge. I seem to have been hoarding lots of scrapbooking paper from K & Company for quite a few years now. Not that I don't want to use it, it's just that it's in my closet where I can't see it. You know, out of sight ~ out of mind... Since their challenge is using tones of blue I thought it would be perfect to make a card using this paper. I also used old Quickutz Die's that I haven't used in years as well as those gems you see in the center of the flower. Thanks Gloria and team for aiding and abetting us hoarders to use our stuff!! Blessings to you~ Birgit
Hello paper crafting friends~ I'm here to post this card that I made for the Fusion Card Challenge. Funny story... I print off the challenges because my computer is in a different room than my craft room. When I saw how cute the butterfly image was printed out, I just had to use it!! I hope that's ok. It's not like I sell my cards or anything. Anyway, I hope it's acceptable and here's my card.As you can see, I went with the image and the sketch and POW! FUSION!! Thanks for looking! Blessings~ Birgit
Good Monday afternoon ~ I'm entering this card into the Kraft Journal Challenge. Today's challenge is to use a die cut. Everything I used on this card was either a die cut or a border punch on a Kraft cardstock base and an old flower button to finish it off. Thanks for looking! Blessings~ Birgit
Hello PTI friends~ I'm here to share the card and envelope I made for Nicole's PTI final challenge, to make a card and coordinating envelope. Sorry the colors are wonky. I used New Leaf, Pure Poppy, Harvest Gold and Melon Berry. The picture seemed dark and I clicked on auto fix. Guess I shouldn't have done that! Anyhoo, here's my entry. This challenge worked out perfectly as I needed to make a card for my daughters birthday. She'll really like this! Here's the packaging. For the envelope, I used the PTI die cut that makes the envelope mailer for cards with embellishments on it. I couldn't find it on their website so if anyone knows what it's called I'll link it up to my post. All products are from PTI except the cardstock base, flower brad, green pearl dots and ribbon. Thanks for looking and Happy Valentine's Day! Blessings~ Birgit
ETA: Here's the link to the Bulk Mail Envelope Die from PTI. Thanks to Elizabeth S. for pointing that out to me!
Hello paper loving friends and Happy Valentines Day!~ I'm here with a banner that I made to enter into the RRR Challenge to make anything but a card. Forgive the poor quality of the photo, I found that it was hard to photograph because of the poor lighting in our dining room and it's been very dark because of the weather so no natural light to speak of. At any rate, here's a picture of my valentine banner.
The hearts were cut using my Cricut machine. I cut a slit on each side to slide the white velour ribbon through. I tied white polka dot sheer ribbon bows onto each side. Each heart has a vintage Valentine sticker that I've had in my stash forever, so I can't even tell you who made them. I ran the letters through my xyron and glittered them up using some Martha Stewart glitter and then stamped some random postal images onto each of the hearts. It's kind of simple but it was the look I was going for. Thanks so much for looking! Blessings to you for a Happy Valentine's Day~ Birgit
