This month starts the new new year and a new challenge from Happy Little Stampers called the CASE Challenge.
Here is Kylie's beautiful card to kick off the new challenge and the new year.
Beautiful, right?
Now here's my CASE of her card:
I started by using Ken Oliver Color Burst Powder in Ultramarine that my dear friend Marcia sent me for Christmas. It was so fun to watch the magic happen when I sprayed my powdered panel of cardstock with water. Too cool!! Then I used all kind of dots in different sizes and stamped them using Momento's Wedding Dress ink, giving it a Bokeh effect. Then I cut my dried panel using MFT's "Love" Die-namics and added the rest of the sentiment using silver embossing powder.
Be sure to stop by the Happy Little Stampers blog to check out this challenge
and join in on the fun!
Just popping in with one more card that meets the sketch requirements for Freshly Made Sketches.
I used PTI's Phrase Play #9 and some punched snowflakes using a Martha Stewart punch.
It's kind of hard to tell in the picture, but I sprayed some glimmer mist onto the punched snowflakes to give them some shine and added gems to the centers.
The insides of my cards are quite often neglected so this year I'm trying to make the insides pretty too.
I'll also be entering this card into the Simon Says Monday Challenge.
Thanks so much for stopping by! Blessings~ Birgit
Hello and happy new year! I'm playing along with this week's Make-it Monday with Laurie where the challenge is to add color to your stamping.
I used the Turning A New Leaf dies and coordinating stamps from Embroidered Elegance for the leaves. The sentiment is from Ruby Rose. I stamped the flowers from Happiness in Bloom and added color with Prisma colored pencils and topped the centers off with one of the Button Stacks die cuts. Here's a closer look.
Be sure to stop by Nicole's blog to watch Laurie's video and join in on the fun!

Happy snow day! Winter has finally arrived here in Maine, as we got our first snow yesterday. YIPEE! I'm not a big fan of winter the cold weather but I do enjoy the peace and beauty that comes along with the first snowfall of the season.
As beautiful as it is, I'm not here to talk about the weather. I'm here with a card for CAS(e) this Sketch.
I'm on to the next big day, Valentine's Day!
I used some really old Technique Tuesday stamps for my word art and added two strips of striped design papers to the edge. Some randomly stamped hearts and sequins finish this card off. This card is colorful, bright and fun!!
I'll also be adding this to the following challenges:
Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge

Hello friends and visitors from Word Art Wednesday. This is my last post as Guest Designer for the Word Art Wednesday challenge blog. I can't even begin to tell you how much I enjoyed working with their amazing design team and scripture word art each week. I have been blessed beyond measure by all the kind comments you all left for me this month.
Today's scripture art:
Today's verse reminds me that I have been bought with a very large price, the death of Jesus. For that reason, we should be attentive to glorify God by taking care of our physical and spiritual health. Exercise and eating right shouldn't just be a New Year's resolution, it should be a daily way of life along with spending time in God's Word, growing and enriching our minds in Him.
I used PTI's Still Life Summer to create this colorful and sparkly reminder to glorify God. I added coordinating stickles to each piece of fruit for added shine!
Thanks so much to Karen and her super talented design team for letting me play along with them this month! It's been a huge inspiration and a special blessing to me to spend time using their free scripture art! You can find all the details about their weekly challenges and free downloadable scripture art on the Word Art Wednesday blog.
Thanks so much for stopping by! Blessings~ Birgit
Hello again. Three posts in one day. Really? I just happened to see the ColourQ challenge and realized that this card fits perfectly into their challenge this week.
Here's my card for this challenge:
I used MFT's Hug In A Mug and a strip of patterned paper that just happens to have all these colors in it! Oh happy day! I'm also adding this to the Simon Says Wednesday challenge.
Thanks so much for stopping by! Blessings~ Birgit
Good morning PTI friends! I'm playing along with PTI's Create Along With Us this week and I chose Kay Miller's card found HERE. I fell head over heals over this card. I liked everything about it so I pretty much CASEd her card except for making adjustments according to the stamp sets I had.
Here's a list of the sets I used:
Fancy Folkart
Boutique Borders ~ Christmas
BB ~ Sympathy
Rosie Posie
Twig Wreath
and Phrases & Praises
I'm also adding this card to the Simon Says Wednesday Challenge.
Thanks so much for stopping by! Blessings~ Birgit
Hello paper crafting friends! I'm here today as a guest designer for Word Art Wednesday challenge #214.
Here's this week's scripture word art:
For today's card I used design paper from Lost & Found and the sweet little bird and music banner image from PTI's Songbirds. A little bit of pink bling gives my card it's finishing touch!
This verse has special meaning to me. When I am feeling low in spirit or dwelling on things that trouble me, I ask God to put a new song in my heart. Once I start singing songs of praises, my whole outlook changes from being down to being joyful.
Oh happy day!
I do hope you'll stop by the Word Art Wednesday blog and join in on the fun! The theme is always "Anything Goes" so there's no reason not to join!
I'd like to express my most humble gratitude to Karen and all her wonderful designers for giving me the chance to play along with them as their Guest Designer this month. It's been a blast and a blessing!!
Thanks for stopping by! I appreciate your visits and your comments. ~ Birgit
Hello paper crafting friends! I've been playing around with PTI's fun vintage set Cup Of Cheer using some very bright colors. Here's a few cards I've made:
I used a candy cane from PTI's Candy Cane Christmas to create a festive tray for the teapot and cups to set on.
On this one I also added a sweet little gingerbread man from Quickutz.
I used the embroiders frame and added the little peppermints into the circles to create a frame and added another sweet little gingerbread girl from Quickutz.
I'll be adding one of these cards to the following challenges:
Merry Monday Candy Cane Challenge

Hello and welcome to my second week as Guest Designer for Word Art Wednesday.
Today's verse comes to you from the book of Luke chapter 1, verse 14.
And REJOICE we shall!!
For this card, I made it into a shaker card. I used PTI's Petite Places Nativity to create the background scene that goes perfectly with this scripture. Once the shaker part was done I added this lacy holly die that my sweet friend Marcia sent me and added a few red stickles berries to the vine.
Here's a better picture of the scene without all the shakery stuff getting in the way.
I actually made two cards using this scripture because the first one didn't come out as good as I had hoped.
I like this card much better. I used WPlus9's Merry & Bright and some pine sprigs cut from a Martha Stewart punch.
Thanks so much to Karen and her highly talented group of designers for allowing me the honor of joining them. I am both humbled and thrilled to be part of this amazing team this month!
Be sure to stop my the Word Art Wednesday challenge blog to join in on the fun!

Hello PTI fans. I'm popping in with the card I made for the PTI Make-it Monday challenge with Danielle Flanders where she focuses on creating ink splatters.
Here's my card:
I started by splattering Hawaiian Shores ink mixed with water onto a white linen card base. I don't have a re-inker in this color so I smooshed the ink pad onto a piece of acetate and sprayed it with water then flicked the color on using a water brush. It looked darker on the card base until I added all the other elements, now it looks like you can hardly see it. I also added a couple of coffee mug stains using dark chocolate ink mixed with water, and dipped my bottle of Glossy Accents into it and stamped it a couple of times on the card base. I cut an Embroidered Dots frame and stamped it using the peppermint candy stamp from Candy Cane Christmas and then added the mug cut from the same set. I heat embossed a snowflake onto the mug and added some Peacock Feather distress ink to the edges of the mug and popped in some candy canes and a few leaf sprigs.
Thanks so much for stopping by! Blessings~ Birgit
Good morning friends! I've been enjoying seeing so many cards floating around the internet using layered snowflakes and I'm completely smitten with them! However, I don't have any of the sets in my craft arsenal so I decided to make my own. I turned to lots of different snowflake sets as well as general sets that can be used to make snowflakes. I'll list all the sets I used to create my snowflakes at the bottom of this post.
Here's a couple of cards I made using my own "make-do" snowflakes:
Stamp sets used:
PTI ~ Snowflake Medley, Peace Be Still, Lovely Layers & Six Feet Deep
MFT ~ Cozy Mittens & Christmas Ornaments
I'll also be adding one of these cards to the following challenges:

Good morning friends~ I'm here with a card that fits perfectly into the challenge going on right now at The Challenge where this week the focus is on making a non-traditional Christmas card.
Look at the pretty inspiration photo!
Here's my card:
I started by cutting a frame out of some really old printed paper, using MFT's Stitched Square Frames. I used their most adorable mouse from Harvest Mouse and colored her up using copics. The flower is stamped and cut using MFT's Buildable Blooms. The sentiment is cut from newsprint and black cardstock using PTI's Holiday Double Cuts. A trio of pink gems finish this card off.
I'll also be adding this to the following challenges:

Use Your Stuff.
Thanks so much for stopping by! I really appreciate you taking the time to leave me some love along the way! Blessings~ Birgit
Yep~ You read that right! I'm super excited to be here as a Guest Designer for one of my all time favorite challenge blogs, Word Art Wednesday! I've been playing along with WAW for a couple of years now. They're one of the first challenge blogs that I discovered and it quickly became my favorite because of their love for sharing the Lord's Word!
Here's my card using this week's Scripture Word Art.
This week's scripture is the promise of Christmas. The Christ child to be born of a virgin, whom we will celebrate this wondrous occasion we call Christmas!
For today's card I used PTI's Painted Poinsettia's to stamp around the outside edge of my printed scripture. I stamped the bells from PTI's Bells & Boughs and heat embossed them in gold. I added a strip of dimensional tape down the center of each bell and rounded the bell and adhered the edges to give it shape.
Thanks so much for visiting me today and thanks so much to Karen and her fabulous Design Team for allowing me to be part of their team this month. Please be sure to check out the Word Art Wednesday Challenge and join in on the fun, where the theme is always "Anything Goes"!
Blessings~ Birgit
Hello to all you happy little stampers!
I'm here with a card for the Happy Little Stampers December Sketch challenge.
Here's the sweet sketch for this month:
This brings back so much nostalgia for me with this vintage looking santa!
Because I enjoyed this sketch so much and being that it is the season of giving, I have not just one, but two cards to share with you using this sketch!
For this card I started with a white cardstock panel cut using MFT's Blueprints #13 and Peek-a-boo Circles. I stamped the script background from Happy Little Stampers, Thinking Of You, in pink behind the die cut panel. The stars were stamped from PTI's O' Tannenbaum and heat embossed in gold. The sentiment is from Happy Little Stampers Mixed Christmas Sentiments paired with Peace Be Still and heat embossed in silver.
The dove is cut and stamped using PTI's Peace Be Still and covered in grey Wink Of Stella to add more glimmer.
On my next card, everything is done the same on this card as it was in the first except I used PTI's Joyful Christmas, with another fabulous sentiment from Happy Little Stampers Mixed Christmas Sentiments. I just love all the different fonts Kylie used when creating the sentiments for this set!
Be sure to visit the Happy Little Stampers blog and leave some love along the way. One lucky commenter will win a sweet prize from Happy Little Stampers!
I'll be entering this card into the following challenges:
Merry Monday Christmas Challenge
Thanks so much for visiting! Blessings~ Birgit
Good Monday morning! I can't believe we're at the end of November already! Time really does fly by!
Each month, my sweet friend Marcia and I have been giving each other challenges and this month really snuck up on me! I'm posting a lil' bit late but at least I'm posting!! This month our challenge was water coloring. That was a good stretch for me because I need all the help and practice I can get. Here's my cards:
The first card uses Sweet 'N Sassy's Christmas Light and Light of Christmas. I heat embossed the candle image in white and used water colors to color it in.
For this card, I used a grid pattern and selectively water colored some squares. MFT's Cup of Warmth is so fun to play with!!
I struggle when it comes to water coloring backgrounds and this was was a second attempt, as the first ended up in the circular file. Not quite sure how I feel about it, but I was running out of time and had to get another card done.
I heat embossed some snowflakes in white and added the sweet sled from PTI's Six Feet Deep.
Be sure to stop by Marcia's blog and see her beautiful creations!!
We really appreciate your visits and your feedback!
Thanks so much for stopping by! Blessings~ Birgit
Thanksgiving is here!! Today is a busy pie making day for me so I'm popping by this morning to post my card to PTI's November Blog Hop. Look at this gorgeous inspiration photo:
Here's my card:
I used Joyful Christmas and Quilted Winter and created a focal cluster from Lexi's MIM tutorial a while back.
It's kind of hard to tell in the photo, because of my genius lack of photography skills, but the stars and the last part of the sentiment are heat embossed in silver.
It's prettier in real life. ;0)
I hope you have fun blog hopping today! I'll be visiting and commenting in between pies!
Have a blessed Thanksgiving!!
Thanks for stopping by! Blessings~ Birgit
Playing along with Dawn McVey's PTI Make-It Monday doing layered stamping on Kraft cardstock. You can find all the details HERE.
I used Filled With Joy for this card.
I've done this kind of stamping before but I don't often think to use it. Here's another card I made way back when...
For this one, I used Out On A Limb.
A fun technique with beautiful results!
I'll also be entering one of these cards into the Word Art Wednesday Challenge
Thanks so much for stopping by! Blessings~ Birgit
It was Betsy's turn this week to host the Make-It Monday challenge and she did a fabulous inspiration piece on building Motif's!
This was so much fun to put together!
I started by stamping the snowflake from Peace Be Still and added the sprig from Note Niblets. The arched leaves are from Embellished Elegance and the large stars from O' Tannenbaum. The small star cluster and cardinal is from Holiday Folk. The sentiment is from Joyful Christmas and was heat embossed in silver.
So much FUN!
I'll also be adding this to the Word Art Wednesday Challenge
Thanks so much for stopping by! I really appreciate your visit and your comments! Blessings~ Birgit
Curtain Call is having a "FOXY" challenge right now ~ So cute!!
You can check out all the details on their blog.
I used PTI's Hello Foxy. I stamped the sentiment onto a folder tab cut using MFT's File Tab which is currently on clearance so grab one while you can! The clouds are cut using WPlus9's Hello Sunshine. I used glitter paper for the outline of the cloud because this is a "foxy" card and she deserves some glam!
I'll also be adding this card to the Word Art Wednesday challenge.
Thanks so much for stopping by! Blessings~ Birgit
