I'm so happy to be joining the fun at this week's Make-It Monday with Ashley. I loved her technique for creating a shadow using heat embossing!
I used Gran's Garden for my card. If you look closely you'll see that I used two colors of distress ink. That was a happy accident.
I started by using Fossilized amber but it was way too dark and contrasted too much with the raspberry fizz that I stamped my sentiment in. I was going to throw it away anyway so I figured I'd spray it with some bleach and water and it almost disappeared before my eyes. While it was still wet, I went over very lightly with Tumbled Glass and I just love the results! You can see a little of both colors.
And what do you think of my new photo's? I'm trying so hard to make my photo's look better. I'm so inspired by everyone's amazing set ups they do when taking photo's of their cards. I don't have much in the line of props, nor do I have good photography skills. I use my ipad to take photo's and I notice that the small details get lost. For example, I used linen cardstock on this card and you would not know it to look at the picture.
Anyway, I'm so glad you stopping by for a visit!
I'll be adding this card to the following challenges:

This card is gorgeous with all the elegant details and soft colors. I just love that Gran's Garden! :). I hear what you're saying about the photos. It's hard to find just the right background to go with it. I like what you did with the ink cubes and the overhead photo. I think it looks great--just enough. I take my photos with my Iphone and I use the Snapseed app to do editing. It was a game changer for me. Plus, it's free which is always good, LOL!
WOW...love your card Birgit! And don't you just love happy accidents?! Your background turned out FABULOUS and is just perfect for your sentiment and beautiful flowers! And your photograph's look great! Nice and bright and I think very clear! Love the addition of the ink cubes and sequins too! :0)
Thanks Heidi for the tip on photo editing. I'll definitely be checking out Snapseed!! So glad you stopped by and took the time to comment. <3
This is such a fun and soft version of the technique. LOVE IT! Grans garden is my set that got away LOL! I didn't order it right away and now I am waiting, waiting, waiting for it to come back in stock. Such a beauty!
This is gorgeous, Birgit! Your colors are stunning! And I think you did an excellent job with the photography, too!! Hugs, Darnell
Beautiful technique and wow, how brave to spray with bleach water! The results are gorgeous. I like your new photography tricks. It's fun to progress from point and shoot to staging.
Your card is very pretty! Love your background. I think the photo is very well done. I have trouble getting my pictures to look as professional as many of the others but I had never noticed any issue with yours. Great job!
Beautiful background for your Gran's Garden flowers. Love when you can fix a mistake and it looks great. I have tried to add props to my pictures and just don't have a good eye for it. I usually try to take them standing up with objects like a small vase and they just don't look good to me. Anyway, great job on your pictures.
This is feminine and ever so lovely Birgit!
Wow....this is so pretty Birgit, your flowers are just gorgeous! Your photos are always good, I really need to improve my photo skills!
This is a beautiful card with such pretty colors! I love the stamping on the flowers and leaves and those tiny star splats are placed perfectly on the card. The blue frame ties it all in nicely.
Birgit, this is such a pretty card and I love the colors you used. I hear you about taking photos and using different "set ups". I don't get good daylight here so it's hard to take pictures. I use a light box I made, but still can't get nice, crisp pictures. It's frustrating!
A super pretty background and flowers on your card. No photography skills here either!
Hi, Birgit!

Finally, let me say thank you for sharing your gorgeous card in our challenge. I appreciate you more than words can say. God bless you, my friend.
Hugs,

Oh my, Birgit, you are a brave one adding bleach, but I guess it's only paper. Your card is stunning and what a beautiful accident! I need to check out Snapseed, too.
Gorgeous, what a happy mistake!
I think your photos look wonderful! This card just might be the one to push me over the edge and get that beautiful flower set of Dawns! Oh my goodness this is gorgeous! Hope your birthday was a s sweet as you!
