Making A Pie Using Basic Shapes

Hello friends ~ Have you seen some of the amazing pie dies that are out on the market right now?  There's so many dies that I like when I first see them, then I buy them (or want to buy them), use them once (maybe twice) and then they sit on a shelf and collect dust.
I want to inspire you to pull out your older, basic shaped dies and use them in new and creative ways.

I started by making the pie, using a silver scalloped circle for the pie plate.  I used very old Spellbinders Nestabilities Circles to make the rest of the pie, using solid blue cardstock for the blueberry filling and a basket weave die cut from kraft cardstock. I then cut that panel again using the same size circle and sponged on some gathered twig DOX ink to the edges to give it a fresh from the oven look.

Embellish your pie using any small circle dies you have in your stash, to make the blueberries, and add a flower.  The fork is from Spellbinders Serve a Slice.  I layered it onto a red & white gingham tablecloth, cut using a stitched rectangle with a stitched scalloped white border.

I hope you're inspired to pull out your older, basic shaped dies and get creative with them.

I'll be adding this card to The Paper Players challenge.

Thanks for stopping by!

Now aren't you just clever, you would think this is a pie die, fantastic job with it and it does look yummy, like the little added flowers with it and the fork is a great touch too, perfect paper to pair with it!

What a great idea to use our older shape dies to make pie Birgit!! I don't have a basket weave die, but I'll have to hunt through my stash and see what I can come up with! Your blueberry pie looks so delish, and just perfect setting on the red & white checked tablecloth! Looks like the Summer picnic is ready to begin!! AWESOME card my friend!! Hugs and happy weekend!! :0)
