Hello to all you creative crafters!
Over
the years, I've amassed a small collection of vintage ornaments in
their original boxes that I enjoy putting out at Christmas time.
I had this Coby box but no ornaments to put inside, so I decided to make a little winter vignette like some that I've seen on Pinterest. I started by removing the ripped cellophane that went over the window, covering the inside of the box with a piece of snowflake scrapbook paper and then carefully attaching tiny battery operated fairy lights around the inside edge of the box using hot glue.
I added white batting to the bottom of the box and a healthy dose of German Glass Glitter. I glued in some snow capped trees and this vintage deer that I think is from the 60's. You know, the old plastic ones that were the rage back then?
I attached this large red & gold bow to the top corner of the box to finish it off. I was happy to see that the colors of the bow matched the graphic colors on the box. This sweet winter scene casts a warm glow when the lights are turned on and this was such an easy and fun project to make.

What an awesome project Birgit! You've created such a magical little scene in the ornament box and the addition of the lights totally takes this up another level! How fun this will be to display with all your other vintage goodies at Christmas!! LOVE it!! Hugs. :0)
