Are you a bird lover? I sure am! I enjoy watching the birds (and pesky squirrels) eating at our feeders every day. The DD Challenges duo, Darlene and Diane have a fantastic challenge for you this next two weeks, with the theme of "Birds".
I'm all in on this one! I pulled out Honeybee Stamps Lovely Layers Winter Birds to create a vintage style card. One that you might find in a book of Avian Field Notes.
I've tucked in some leaves and berries from Spellbinders Be Bold Blooms. This is all nestled on top of a wonderful numeric embossing folder from Carabelle Studios. I rubbed a bit of Walnut Stain DOX Ink over the numbers to give it a time worn look.
A couple of Tim Holtz Field Notes stamps are included to finish this entry.
I do hope you'll visit DD Challenge to see more avian inspired designs from our gifted team.
Here's the inspiration tile to help you get started:
And here's what you could win when you play along.

WOW what a fabulous card my friend! Love that chickadee!
Oh Birgit...this card is soooooo pretty! Your birdie sitting amongst the leaves and berries is beautiful and I love that embossed background too! You nailed this challenge my friend...LOVE it!! Hugs. :0)
I could do a year of bird cards and not come to the end of them. They work in so many settings and you've made a beautiful one for this pretty Chickadee. The embossing, the stamps, the inking... absolutely lovely. I have to admire the 1958 ledger as a backdrop, too. All totally wonderful, Birgit!
I like all of the goodies you've nestled this little bird into! This is a lovely card, Birgit!
Marcia gave me a little sneak peek but now I've come to see this gorgeous card 'enbiggened', Birgit!! Goodness, this is so fantastic and SO YOU! Gee... do I have any birds? HA!! DO I EVER!

Beautiful vintage card! I love the chickadee with the leaves and berries. Lots of texture and the red berries really pop. Wonderful design, Birgit!
A beautiful chickadee, one of my favorites to watch at our feeders, well on the ground since the blue jays toss all the feed on the ground that they don't approve of!! Anyhow, it is beautifully creative!!
Beautiful bird, I do love all the details in him. I love the touch of the leaves and berries with him. Cool background for him too, so cool!
