Hello friends~ It's time for a new challenge over at Double D Challenges. The theme for the next two weeks is "Spring Flowers".
Crocuses are the first flowers to emerge in my yard in the spring time, so I felt like The Greetery Crocus's were the right fit for the challenge.
I combined a couple of different font die cuts from my stash to create the sentiment. I also added a bit of hombre inking to the "wishes" die cut and then heat embossed it using clear embossing powder. It a bit hard to see the shiny finish on the die cut, but trust me, it's there.
As most paper crafters do, I'll bet you have a ton of flowers in your crafty arsenal that you could use to join in on the fun over at Double D Challenges. I sure hope to see your card in the linky!
Darlene has brought us a bit of inspiration:

And here's the prize you could win when you link up and play along.
ETA: What perfect timing to discover that Color Hues is looking for lilac and aqua. I'll be entering my card into this challenge.
I'll also be entering this card into Seize The Birthday, where the theme is layering.
Thanks for stopping by!

Beautiful card, I love it when I see my crocus pop their little heads up, gives me hope of what's to come!!
Oh my friend this is just BEAUTIFUL and your coloring is perfect! My crocus are just about finished but it's always a good sign when they pop through even when it snows!! Fabulous inspiration!
Your Crocuses are absolutely beautiful Birgit and one of my favorite dies from The Greetery too! Love your card design too and the mixed fonts for the sentiment...lovely, lovely card my friend!! Hugs. :0)
A favorite crocus of mine, Birgit even prettier with that bit of shimmer! - quick! Go add this to our gallery at The Flower challenge, too!

Best crocus dies ever and an absolutely gorgeous card! I love these sweet colors with them, and the softly patterned paper. Perfect placement of the sentiment. Such a lovely card, Birgit!
Beautiful! The crocus are absolutely gorgeous. That ombre sentiment is the best. I love that you did this and the clear embossing is a nice touch.
Such a pretty interpretation of spring! Fabulous card, Birgit!
I have been seeing Crocuses everywhere these days. You have shaded these just beautifully. This is a wonderful birthday card, you should link it at Seize the Birthday for our Layer It Topping, as well, where I happen to be hostess too.
The crook is on your card really represents spring flowers. I love them enough to put them on my card too. I really miss the spring flowers here in Florida as we don’t have a spring season. But we have beautiful flowers all year long just like your card.
I truly love everything about this card. The soft papers, the inking, the two toned sentiment. Just beautiful! Thanks so much for playing with us at Color Hues!
Birgit, So happy to see you added this card to Seize the Birthday!
so pretty and great inking of them, they make for a lovely spring birthday card!
