Hi Friend

Hello lovelies!  I'm popping in with a card I made using up some scraps and a printable library card.

I had printed off several of these library cards on pink cardstock a while back.  You may recall this card I posted back in May. Well, in an effort to use what I have and use up some scraps, I came up with this card.

I had also printed a couple of these floral images for another challenge for the message board at ACOT.  I fussy cut the image out and glued it to the bottom of the library card.  The pretty flower on top is from Anna Griffin.  The colors matched really well.

I don't remember where the embossed "hi" letters came from.  Were they from a past 12 Kits of Occasion or did I use a hot foil plate to emboss a scrap of Ocean Tides cardstock?  I honestly cannot recall!  I blame it on aging.

Either way, I embossed a scrap of Ocean Tides cardstock with a different pattern, playing off the color palette of the greens in the printed flowers.
I like how it turned out and love that no new sheets of cardstock were harmed in the making of this card.

Do you enjoy sitting with your scraps and seeing what comes from them?

I'll be adding this card to the following challenges:
Time Out Challenges ~ Friendship / Encouragement / Support
Word Art Wednesday ~ Anything Goes
Simon Says Wednesday Challenge ~ Anything Goes

Thanks for stopping by!

Your card is absolutely beautiful Birgit and oh the memories you've brought back of checking out books when I was young and those cards were always stamped with the due date. I know I'm dating myself, but I was quite the bookworm back then and still am today! And of course all the florals and that lovely embossed "hi" make this such a sweet, sweet card! Hugs. :0)

So beautiful! Love the collagey style theme! That library card is awesome and makes for a great backdrop for the pretty florals and embossed hi. Oh gosh, who can remember anything these days, especially craft related--I mean exactly how long have we've been playing? lol This is FAB!

I do love working from my scraps, I just reorganized them yesterday, so I will hopefully be using more up soon, This is lovely, I like the bottom border you did with the flowers, and I agree the Anna Griffin flower works well with it. I like how you did the sentiment with the layering of the hi and adding the friend, lovely way to use those scraps!

Oh, what fun to create something so beautiful from your spare parts! I do enjoy the process as well and am always looking through my stash for possibilities. You pulled together such a lovely combination here. I feasted my eyes again on your other card, as well. It was truly one of my favorites. The library card makes such a great home base!

Great card, Birgit! I love the bold colors and the great sentiment (and how you double layered it) against the library card. So vintage! I love how you printed it out on pink paper too. Someone will love getting this for sure! Thanks so much for playing along with us at Word Art Wednesday!
