Hello crafty friends ~
I've been sitting on these Tim Holtz costume boxes for way too long. These came out a few years ago and I just loved the vintage / retro graphics. He had a line of Christmas boxes as well, which I've used in the past, and I still have some. What can I say.... I just love everything vintage!
Anywho... This image from Crafty Secrets (also ages old) was sitting in my stash and I thought, how perfectly they go together. The pumpkins are from Pretty Little Studio. I just adore their line of vintage die cuts.
If you peek into the box, you'll see I used some wild polka dotted paper to line the box with, and I added some cheese cloth behind the trio of trick-or-treaters. This adds a layer of texture and softness.
I remember having so much fun coming up with our own ideas for creating costumes for Halloween. Very rarely did our costumes come in a box. They came from our imagination. Those were the days.
I think I'll add this project to the following challenges:

OH WOW ... how awesome! I too love vintage but don't do as much of it as I don't find it sells well at my show {sad face} but I sure love seeing what you've done here! I recognize that image (I used to be on the Crafty Secrets DT and have TONS of her stuff still hanging around here). Geesh ... that was a long time ago!! lol

I know I've said it before, but you do vintage so well Birgit and this Halloween costume box perfectly shows that!! That picture of the trick or treaters is such a hoot and yes, totally reminds me of all our homemade costumes back in the day! Caitlin and her hubby are very good at making all their costumes still, although Call goes right to amazon...guess I kinda failed there!! Haha!! But anyway, sweet, sweet box card!! Hugs. :0)
Those little ones are the kind of clowns I can enjoy... not the creepy ones you usually see at Halloween! This is a darling vintage project, Birgit

Same here, our costumes were either made from my mom or stuff we came up with :). Cool retro box, that image is perfect with it and the cheese cloth is a neat touch with it too!
