Elegant and Slightly Vintage Valentine

Hello friends~  I found a bit of time to play with some new dies from The Greetery and made this sweet little card.  It has a very elegant and slightly vintage look to it.

I fell in love with the Coquette Hearts Embossing Folder and coordinating Filigree Hearts die from the recent release over at The Greetery.  The embossing is so crisp and dimensional on these hearts and the best thing is, you can emboss an entire panel of hearts and then cut them out all at once using the coordinating Whole Hearted Die.

I lightly rubbed over the embossed Kraft cardstock with DOX ink and added the Filigree Heart border, cut out of gold cardstock.  You can also just barely see that I embossed the center of the background, which is mentioned below.

The pretty background is a retired die set from Spellbinders called Filigree Marquis.  The beautiful flowy bow is called Regency Bow #1, and that is also from my recent visit to The Greetery.  The flower is from Concord & 9th.

I'll be adding this card to the following challenges:
Just Us Girls ~ Word Week:  Valentine
Word Art Wednesday ~ Anything Goes
Cut It Up Challenge ~ This Makes Me Happy (vintage style, working with dies, flowers.... all these things make me happy.  ;0))

Thanks for stopping by!

What a beautiful combination! I love how you brought these parts together. The kraft heart looks so soft with the pinks, and all that fabulous embossing makes my heart happy. I hope you're having a lovely Valentine's Day!

Beautiful card Birgit. I LOVE your embossed and framed heart ... it's gorgeous. It does have a vintage look, especially in kraft with the highlights. So pretty when matched with the flowing bow at the top. Amazing work!! xx

I spotted the style of The Greetery as soon as I saw your beautiful heart in the center of the card. Then the background die in that pretty pink caught my eye. The red bow and the raise detail inside the heart...it is all so "Valentine" specific. What a fabulous card. We thank you so much for playing at Just Us Girls!

Birgit, this card is absolutely gorgeous! You’re right it definitely has a vintage feel and you brought that out so well. I love all the elements here, but what really jumps out at me is that metallic border around the heart. Great job all around! Thanks so much for playing along with us at Word Art Wednesday. We have a new challenge starting today and would love to have you join us again!
