#thedailymarker30day

Kathy Racoosin is a fabulous artist and I've long admired her artistic skills since I started following her blog about a year ago.
She is having a 30 day coloring challenge, that I am eagerly participating in, as I really need help on my coloring skills as you'll see in today's coloring project.
A big challenge for me is finding the right colors, my light, medium and dark tones, that blend well together.
Here's the colors I used and I hope you'll leave me some helpful advice on what I could have done differently to make this bird come out better.
Flower ~ RV10, R20 & V12
Leaves ~ YG03, YG63 & YG67
Beak ~ E05, YR20 & E33
Bird ~ (Belly) RV10 & B00, B00, B05, B24 & B29
Branch ~ E57 & E29
Legs ~ W7 & T1
Outline ~ B93, B21 & B00

As you can see, I definitely need help on outlining as she did in her video you can find HERE. I also need help on my shading skills in general.
Per Kathy's tips, I did add some Wink of Stella to the flower and the birds belly. I thought that was such a sweet touch, as well as the white details with a gel pen.

My goals for taking this 30 day challenge are:
To better learn to use my Copics ~ Color Choices, Blending tips
To use watercolor pencils
No Line Watercoloring
and Improve my shading skills.

There's so much I need to learn so I'm super excited to see what this months challenge will bring. Thanks Kathy for making this a free challenge. I'm really looking forward to all the great things I might learn.
Thanks so much for looking. Don't forget to leave me some helpful feedback, tips and ideas. Your constructive criticism is always appreciated!
Blessings~ Birgit

I think you will pick up fast and become a master because I really like this card. It reminds me of stained glass. I don't use copics so I can't give any tips at all

I need to follow along with this challenge--I love your coloring, and have NO tips for you as I am in awe of where you are already. I like the shine you have on your bird, and all the outlining.

It will be fun to watch your coloring creations during this challenge! I think your bird is beautiful! I have a difficult time with outlining the images. I stopped trying, but I love it when I see others do it.

Wow! Beautiful on the outlining and perfection on the white dots. I love everything about this!
