Good morning friends~ I had a chance to create a card for this week's Make-It Monday with Laurie Schmidlin. It was her first MIM video and she did an amazing job sharing her ideas on creating water colored backgrounds.
I need lots of help in this area, in fact, I don't even own any water color paints so I had to use re-inkers for my card.
After making this card, I finally broke down and ordered some Kuretake Gansai Tambi Watercolor paints. I can't wait for them to arrive!
Anyway, thanks for stopping by! Blessings~ Birgit
Using reinkers worked just fine...in fact your background looks marvelous with that Psalm and absolutely perfect for a graduation card! Well done my friend!! :0)ReplyDelete
SPECTACULAR! I love your colors and that BOLD sentiment! So perfect for a Graduation!ReplyDelete

Your card is gorgeous, I adore that sentiment and paired with graduation seems like a perfect fit! Glad you ordered some water colors...I have those and they are great, beautiful colors in the set! Have a beautiful day friend!ReplyDelete
Fabulous background Birgit. Lovely graduation card. Oh wow, you were in California. That is so close to Washington. Would have been fun to connect with you. Oh well another time.ReplyDelete
You nailed this technique, and the re-inkers look wonderful! Your embossed word images came out vivid and clear. Mind if I case? I need a graduation card, and love the Bible verse through the gorgeous color, with cap and diploma, and the way you topped it off. You're always so clever with your cards! Hope you love your new watercolors. Let me know how they work out. Hugs.ReplyDelete
Yay for you for ordering a real watercolor set (join the crowd)! Your re-inkers did the job tho...fabulous card. :)ReplyDelete

I took a stroll back through your blog to see what I've missed these last few day. LOTS of prettiness as I knew there would be!ReplyDelete
What great idea to use this Scripture stamp for a graduation card. Amazing example of the technique, love it!
Birgit, your graduation card is AMAZING! Your color wash, the embossed Psalm and the grad die-cuts really finished it off nicely. Great color choices for your two layers beneath your focal image!ReplyDelete
