12 Kits Of Occasion ~ June

Can you believe how quickly June has slipped by?  The older I get the faster time seems to fly.  If only I could move faster to keep up with it.  ;0)
The end of the month means it's time for all the amazing gals from 12 Kits of Occasion to post their projects.
This month's hostess is the ever talented Michele Ferguson of I Card Everyone, with her kit titled "It's A Guy Thing".  Her style is over the top amazing and her personality is equally amazing.  I just love it when I see her name pop up on my phone!    Her kit honors all things dad and grad and "GUY" this month.  Sending you warm (hugs) and BIG THANKS Michele, for this fun kit!

Be sure to visit the 12 Kits of Occasion blog to see what the other designers came up with using Michele's fun kit.  Michele's guest designer this month is Bobby Hagen - Bits and Pieces.

I made this pretty background using Distress Oxide Inks in Wilted Violet, Broken China, Fossilized Amber and Worn Lipstick, spritzed with water.  I then gave it a spritz of Heidi Swapp Gold Shimmer Spray.

I used a number of Altenew's Mini Ink Cube Sets for the tulips.  The sentiment is heat embossed in white on a hand cut black fishtail banner.

Here's my take on this week's challenge:
I used images from Make-It Market Garden Gild, Courage & Kindness and Banner Style for the sentiment.

Pantone Chip Inspired Card ~ PTI Make-It Monday

Hello friends~  I'm playing along with this week's Make-It Monday challenge with Lexi.  She's got a fab take Pantone Chip inspired cards.  What a fun and quick technique to make beautiful cards with!
My "Pantone" color is Raspberry Fizz.  I stamped this fun flamingo from Some Like It Hot and used sentiments from Big Hugs and Painted Petals to create my card.  I embossed the background using a Sizzix embossing folder for a bit of interest.

I had another flaming that I stamped using Hibiscus Burst and decided to create another card just because I didn't want this little guy to get lost on my messy craft table.

I'll be entering this card into the Simon Says Work It Wednesday Challenge ~ Summer Icon
and Word Art Wednesday ~ Anything Goes.

Happy humpday friends!  I just recently received an order from Concord & 9th with some of their new stamps & dies and this Petals & Pallets is going to become a favorite of mine very quickly.

Beautiful Entwined Hearts Wedding Card

Good morning, I've got a pretty card for you today featuring lots of Elizabeth Craft Designs products focused around these beautiful Entwined Hearts by Els.
I cut the Entwined Hearts out of Cafe Au Lait Soft Finish Cardstock and adhered it to the front of an A2 sized top folding card base.  I then cut a couple of the Leafy Branch 5 out of scraps of printed paper and snipped them to I could arrange the leaf sprigs in a different pattern.

I cut the Happy Flowers out of Pale Peach Soft Finish Cardstock and mounted them to my heart wreath and then added some flowers from Bunch Of Flowers 4 to the tops of them, molding the flowers slightly on a molding pad before adhering them. I then added some pretty pink Prills to the centers of the flowers.

I stamped the sentiment from General Sentiments on the bottom left corner.  Some scattered sequins finish the card off.

Sorry the colors look washed out.  It's really stunning in real life.

Here's a list of products I used that can be found at Elizabeth Craft Designs:

Patriotic Treat Bag Toppers

Soon we'll be celebrating the 4th of July and what better way to celebrate than to share some sweet treats with your friends and family while you're waiting for the fireworks to start!  I've got a festive patriotic project using some fresh and fun colors from Pop Tones that are on sale for the month of June at Cut Cardstock.

Here's a snapshot of the supplies I'll be using today including the Pop Tones colors in Red HotWhip Cream and Sno Cone:

I started by cutting Frantic Stamper Patriotic Icons and Elizabeth Craft Designs Stitched Fishtails out of each color of the Pop Tones Cardstock.

I scored the banners at 1" from the left hand side.

I also cut Tim Holtz Star Dies out of each color and stitched banners out of 80lb Neenah Solar White Cardstock and stamped the sentiment on Elizabeth Craft Designs Stitched Fishtail Banners.

I assembled the bag toppers as seen in the above photo using Glue Dots and adhered them to the top of each cellophane bag using Score-Tape.

I hope you enjoyed today's project and take advantage of the BIG SALE on all Pop Tones this month.

The Great Cupcake!

Do you like to celebrate with cake?  Cupcakes are so popular and they're just perfect for celebrating any occasion from birthday's to bar mitzvah's.  Today's card gives honor to the great cupcake!

I started by cutting two mattes from Neenah 110lb Solar White Card Stock using Elizabeth Craft Designs Stitched Rectangles.  This card stock is heavy duty, sturdy, just perfect for tags, die cutting and matting.  I added foam tape between the top and bottom mattes to give the frame dimension.

I backed the frame using this fun polka dotted paper from Elizabeth Craft Designs Thinking About - Rio De Janeiro.  There are 3 packs of this paper just filled with oodles of different colors.  They're all so yummy!

I cut two frames using the stitched rectangles, by taping the two largest rectangles together and running them through my die cutting machine and gluing them together for more depth, and adhered them to the front of the matte.

Next I cut the Elizabeth Craft Designs Cupcakes out of white card stock and Soft Sky Soft Finish Card Stock.  I added some detail to the cupcake liner using Broken China Distress Oxide Ink.  I colored the cherry using Copics and then heat embossed it using clear embossing powder.  I also cut the Celebrate die out of the same Soft Sky Soft Finish Card stock and blended the bottom with distress ink giving it an ombre effect.

The finished masterpiece!  A cupcake worthy of framing.  ;0)

I'm so thankful you stopped by today!  Blessings~ Birgit

It's Your Day!

Wedding season is upon us so today's inspiration for Dies R Us, is a card that can be used for any special celebration such as a wedding, anniversary or any other momentous occasion.

Today's card uses the following dies:

I started by cutting this Cheery Lynn Designs Lattice Heart & Vines out of gold card stock.  The detail on this die is incredible and it cut perfectly with one pass through my machine.  I chose to leave the negative pieces in the heart for this project.

I cute quite a few of the Elizabeth Craft Garden Notes Carnation petals out of red, coral and white card stock, using the three smallest petal dies because I didn't want the carnations to come out too large.  That's one of the nice things about these dies is that you can use just the sizes you want and still create stunning layered flowers.  The more layers you use, the fuller your flowers will be.

I added a touch of color to the centers of the petals using coordinating Copic markers before molding the petals on a craft mat and gluing them together using Glossy Accents.

Next, I cut a few Poppystamps Hampstead Stems out of green card stock and started to play around with designs.

Before gluing any dies down, I ran the front of the card through my machine using an embossing folder to add interest.  There are many different embossing folders in the Dies R Us store that are well suited for any type of card.  I also cut an Elizabeth Craft Designs Stitched Fishtail Banner out of silver sparkle card stock and heat embossed the sentiment in black.

I hope you're inspired by today's project.  Don't forget to join in on all the fun at the Dies R Us Challenge Blog.  There's a new challenge theme offered on the 1st and 15th of each month and one lucky randomly drawn winner will receive a gift voucher prize to the Dies R Us Store.  For your convenience, all the important Dies R Us links are provided below.
