Inspired By ~ Yellow Makes Me Happy

We all need a little happiness in our lives right now, especially with all that's going on in the world.  As crafter's, this is what we've been training for all these years!  Uninterrupted time at home when there's nothing on our agenda except to craft.  Of course keeping house, doing laundry and cooking are all still on the "to-do" list but I've never spent so much guilt free time in my craft room, ever!
Today's card is going for the Inspired By Challenge
There's nothing like sun-shiny yellow to brighten the dreary days here on the east coast.  I'm seeing spring bulbs popping up all over the place in my gardens.  Just greens right now, but I know the flowers will follow soon.  Anyway, here's my card for the challenge:
I had these little yellow chicks from Dies R Us out for a design team project coming up soon and I thought they would be perfect for the challenge too.

I created the background using printed paper from Moda Scrap Beautiful SeasonElizabeth Craft Designs currently has this 12x12 paper on sale at over 50% off!  While you're there, you can pick up the newer version of the cute  little Spring Basket too.

Here's another card I made using those same dies and paper.

And just because I was in the crafting mood, I wanted to create something a little bit different:
I used up some ribbon off a ribbon spool and was going to throw it away and then I got the brilliant idea of using it as a base for one of the little crepe paper dolls I've been making.

You can find printable faces all over Pinterest.  If you want directions to make these cute dolls, I have them all written up and I'll be happy to share them here or e-mail them to you.

I was supposed to have a craft day with some friends this past Friday, but along with everything else in the world, we decided to err on the side of caution and cancel it.  So I mailed everyone in our group the elements to make them and sent them along with a card and the instructions that I wrote up on my computer so they could have fun at home making them.

I hope it brings a smile to your heart!
Stay well, stay safe and happy crafting!

ETA:  I'll be adding one of these projects to the following challenges:
Simon Says Monday Challenge ~ Spring
Simon Says Wednesday Challenge ~ Anything Goes
Word Art Wednesday ~ Anything Goes
The Sisterhood of Crafters ~ Spring

Thanks for stopping by!

Yellow does have a way of brightening up one's outlook, doesn't it? Your card is fantastic, and oh gosh how adorable is your second creation, that chick all dolled up with ribbon is fantastic and what a great idea to give a kit to each of your friends that you cannot see right now! You are the BEST at being the light for other people! And I too love the non guilt feeling of being in the studio all day long! Heart hugs friend, stay safe!

Your Easter cards are SO cute, love your cute diecuts, layering and design. You crepe doll is too adorable and how fun that you could all still create them and know when you look at your tables you're still seeing each other. Thank you for sharing with us @ Inspired By this week.

the cards are just adorable, I love them both, the first with the whole scene and then the little chic in the basket :) Love that chick paper you have with them too!
Oh wow your creation with the ribbon spool is so sweet, I have a few little spools I have saved for a project but this is terrific with your little doll! Love all that frills!
