Christmas Craft ~ Something Different

Good morning my friends!  Christmas is fast approaching and I've made some fun crafts in my crafty space this past year that I've never gotten around to sharing.
Let's turn back the calendar to 2023 and I'll show you how I repurposed an old Little Golden Book of Frosty The Snowman.

I cut cute Frosty out of the front cover with some heavy duty scissors and created a box using the back cover of the book to create the box.  I covered the box with wintery snowflake paper, adding the title page to the front of the box.

Next, I cut some of the images from the pages of the book to make into greeting cards.  I cut word slips from the pages to add sentiment to the cards.

I picked up these wood slices last year at the Dollar Tree and mod-podged some of the leftover images from the book pages onto each side of the wood slices to make ornaments.

They turned out so cute!

I put some paper shred from the Dollar Tree into the bottom of the box, added the ornaments and tucked the cards and envelopes into the back and packaged everything up to sell at a local apple orchard this year.   They stay open until Christmas selling Christmas trees, apple cider and home made baked goodies.  Hubby and I buy our Christmas tree from them every year and I've always loved browsing through their little shop with all the hand made goodies.  I'm glad to have a part in it this year.

I'll be adding this project to the following challenges:
Word Art Wednesday ~ Anything Goes
C.R.A.F.T. Challenge ~ Christmas Present
Love To Craft Challenge ~ Anything Goes

Thanks for stopping by!

Oh my gosh Birgit...I am head over heels in LOVE with this little box set you created from the golden storybook! The box is absolutely ADORABLE and what a perfect spot to put cards in during the holidays! And your cards turned out wonderful too, but the ornaments are what drew my eye...those are perfection and someone is going to love adding those to their tree! Thanks so much for sharing this delightful little collection...it will sell quick!! Hugs. :0)

Birgit, I'm quite sure I OWNED this Golden Book and about 200 more... it was my 'treat' for being a very good girl at the grocery store! Being the youngest of 9, I knew just how special those few cents were.
I love how you've used the pages for your cards and also the script! What a darling gift set - if I were there, it would be in my cart!

Oh, my word! I can't even... this is amazing... there are not adequate words. I hope whoever purchased this package truly valued it's contents and cherished it or shared with someone who would. A lot of us had these books when growing up. You repurposed them beautifully. Turned them into works of art. Good on you, Birgit!
