Fall Colors ~ DD Challenges

Good morning.  Are you gearing up for Thanksgiving day?  My friends and I over at DD Challenges have a new challenge starting today, and the theme is "Fall Colors".

I was scrolling through Instagram one day and came across a lovely hourglass card made by Kelly Schirmer using this die set from The Greetery.  I just had to recreate my own version of it using printed papers from my stash.

The printed paper is from the "Fall Break" collection from Carta Bella.  It's quite retired by now, I think.

The leaves and acorns are from Lawn Fawn, tied with a twine bow and the sentiment is from Honeybee Stamps.

The paper collection is 6x6, which allowed me to cut two images from one sheet of paper.  Two cards for the price of one.  I love it when that happens.

The gals at Double D Challenges have some lovely cards for inspiration for you, but here's an inspiration tile to get you started:

Lighted Gingerbread Box Ornament

Good morning friends ~  I hope you don't mind me popping in and posting another 3D box ornament.

The class I taught a couple weeks ago went well.  Everyone went home happy with their make and some of them even went home and made more.  I had cut extra box pieces for my class, just in case, and we didn't have to use them.

I decided to finish the box ornament off with a gingerbread theme when I found this cutie little gingerbread from Cottage Cutz in my box of Christmas scraps left over from last year.  He's too cute not to be used.

I think I'll add him to the following challenges:

A Vintage Slide From The Garden

Hello friends ~  I'm popping in to share a card using the colors orange & brown for the Color Hues color challenge.

I have this close up picture from the garden and turned it into a specimen card using dies from Tim Holtz.

I added some random stamping around the specimen card and gave it some good distressing around the edges.  I love the little number tag!

Popped onto a super old piece of scrapbook paper in browns and tans, the image really pops!

I'll be adding this card to the following challenges:

Fall Wreaths ~ DD Challenges

Hello my friends ~  The girls at DD Challenges are at it again.  We've got a new challenge starting today and the theme is Fall Wreaths.

I used Rustic Floral Wreath from Pinkfresh Studio and stenciled using DOX inks, and then cut the wreath out using the coordinating die.

I added some yellow stickles to the flowers for added interest.  The sentiment is from Honeybee Stamps.

I placed the wreath onto an oval cut using Stitched Scalloped ovals from My Creative Time and placed it over a background that was die cut using an old PTI cover plate.  Sorry I don't remember the name of it, as the package is long gone.

Please take a quick moment to visit DD Challenges to see some other beautiful work from the talented design team.

Church Lighted 3D Ornament Box ~ CCS

Hello friends~
Many of you who've been following my blog for a long time know that I enjoy making these 3D ornament boxes.  Well, I've made a new design for the CutCardStock blog, featuring this beautiful church from Papertrey Ink.

I'm actually going to be teaching a class to make these today, to a group of crafty ladies in my church.  I'm super nervous about teaching the upcoming class, but hopefully it will all go smoothly.

I've been cutting and stamping like gang busters using all the wonderful cardstock from CutCardStock.

I do hope you'll stop by the CutCardStock blog for more details on how this project came together.
