Birds Of A Feather

It's been a while since I've played along with the challenge over at The Shabby Tea Room, but I love birds and their inspiration colors and photo just drew me in! I went literally with the inspiration photo and came up with this card:

The card base is an oldie from my stash. I have several of these card bases that I'd like to use up and this card just seemed to fit what was going on in my head. I wanted a soft, water color look using Out On A Limb from Papertrey Ink, so I spritzed my stamped image with water after inking it up. I also used my water brush pen and softened it even more. Click on the picture to make it bigger and you can see some of the beautiful detail. The soft background color was made by pouncing ink spots onto an acrylic stamp base and spritzing it with water to which I laid a piece of water color paper on top until it absorbed the color. Exactly the soft, dreamy look I was going for! The sentiment is from Under His Wings by Sweet N' Sassy Stamps. A sheer polka dot ribbon and some pretty sequins finish it off.
I'm also entering this card into the Word Art Wednesday Challenge.
Thanks so much for looking! Blessings~ Birgit

Awesomely beautiful...Love rthe yellow as a base and the image so pretty. We appreciate you joining us last week and would love for you to play along with us again this week at Word Art Wednesday. Leaving you with God's Word in Hebrews 12:2---"Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God." Hugs and blessings!

Oh, Birgit! This is stunning! You have created such a soft watercolor image here! I literally went, "oooooh" when I saw it! Love the subtle touch of sequins, too. This one needs a frame!
