12 Kits of Occasion ~ February

Hello everyone~  Can you believe that February has come to an end already?  That means it's time for the 12 Kits of Occasion gals to post our projects for the month.

Jeanne Jachna from A Kept Life was our amazing hostess with the mostest this month.  Her kit was the perfect celebration for crafty friends, titled "Crafty Friends Are The Best" and I can sure attest to that!

This bird image was too cute not to use.  I simply cut two feathers out of some of the printed papers in Jeanne's kit to create this quick and easy card.

Who can resist MFT's Pure Innocence images?  Not me!  Sorry for the glare.  I can't seem to photograph glossy finishes very well.

I love all my crafty friends so much.  I enjoy visiting your blogs and being inspired by YOU and I love it when you visit my blog and leave me your kind and encouraging comments.

I hope you'll pop by the 12 Kits of Occasion blog to see how my talented team mates were inspired to use Jeanne's super fun kit.  Thanks so much Jeanne!

Thanks for stopping by!

Beautiful Orchids

Good morning friends.  I'm popping in with a card I made for the Inspired By Challenge:

Here's their inspiration photo:
I was inspired by the geometric pattern on the pillow to create the background panel using Hero Arts Ombre Ink called Spring Day and an old background stamp that's so old, I don't even remember where it came from.

I cut the background panel using Spellbinders Hemstitch Rectangles and mounted it to an A2 size Hero Arts Kiwi Green cardstock base.  I picked up on the white flowers on the coffee table and used this beautiful orchid stamp from PTI.  The sentiment is from the same set.

And because I wasn't sure I was really happy with how the first card came out, I made a second one, just adding a strip of striped patterned paper from My Favorite Things and some sequins.

Which card do you like better?

I'll be adding one of these cards to the following challenges:

Hello ~ Double D Challenge

Hello stamplings~  Double D Challenges is starting a new challenge today  "Saying HELLO".
I used an Altenew stamp set that's new to me called Beloved Daisy to stamp the background panel using Enchanted Garden and Spring Bouquet Mini Ink Cube Sets.  These flowers are fairly easy to line up and they look great in any color.
Once the stamping was done, I cut the HELLO Outline die from Poppystamps from the center of the image and then cut it again three times from white cardstock so that I could layer the letters to create a hidden sentiment.

I added a strip of coordinating polka-dotted paper and hot pink glitter tape to finish it off.
Here is the inspiration panel:

Safari Selfies ~ Dies R Us ~ Wild Things

Good morning.  My friends over at the Dies R Us challenge blog are starting up a new challenge today and the theme is "Wild Things"  I turned to one of my favorite lines of dies that you can purchase when Dies R Us has their special order event on European dies, Marianne Designs.

Gosh!  They have the cutest animal dies ever!  I chose to work with safari animals for this challenge but these guys are all too cute to be too wild.  Well, except for that crazy zebra.  Let me show you the cards I made for this challenge:

I'll start with the Lion, since he's the king of the forest.   I caught him taking a selfie of himself in front of this grand tree that was cut using Dee's Distinctively Dies, Tree Base 2 and Tree Toppers

The tiger comes in the same set as the lion, so you get two animals for the price of one die.  An excellent deal!  This tiger was snap happy with the camera too.

Likewise, the Monkeys come with  different body positions.  This little cutie likes to hang out on a Marianne Designs Vine while he eats his bananas.

This big guy was a quite shy, but I found him peeking out from behind the tall grasses.

The Panda was doing yoga in front of Bamboo Poles from Memory Box.  Is that the tree pose?

Tall and mighty, this Giraffe is noble in every way.  He was taking so many pictures of himself I had to take the camera away.

And finally this Zebra was caught kicking up his heels!  He's a joyful soul!!

I purposely kept all these card designs simple in design and color.  I can add sentiments when I am ready to use them.

I highly recommend that you sign up for the newsletter over at Dies R Us so you'll be one of the first to be notified of these special order events.

I also wanted to remind you that Dies R Us now has a sister store with warehouses in the USA and Canada called Didi Crafts They have Marianne Designs dies in their store all the time!

They will ship to both the US and Canada.  Didi Crafts will carry some of the same products as DRU, but most will be different.  Now our Canadian friends don't have to worry about huge taxes or shipping fees. How great is that!?!  We'd love for you to visit by clicking on the links above or by clicking here.

I hope you've enjoyed seeing these safari animals selfie tour.

Cute Critter Valentines

Hello friends~  I'm popping in this morning to share a few simple, quick and wicked cute Valentine cards I made for some of my great little nieces and nephews.
I made these with this darling little duck from The Scrapping Cottage for my great nieces

and I made the dinosaur cards for my great nephews.

I used Altenew's Bold Alphabet dies to cut the letters out of red cardstock, placing them so that I could use both the die cuts and the negative pieces of cardstock so there was no waste.

I used scraps of yellow polka dotted paper from MFT Stamps and this darling duck from The Scrapping Cottage.

For the boys, I embossed a panel of white cardstock with a brick embossing folder, cut the Fitted Heart from Elizabeth Craft Designs and placed more printed paper from MFT behind it.  The dinosaur is from Marianne Designs.

Aren't they cute?

And they went together so quickly.

I'll be adding one of these cards to the following challenges:

My Vintage Valentine

It's the season of love and what better way to share love than to let someone know they're special.  Today's card was inspired by the new challenge going on over at Double D Challenges.  Can you guess which panel I was inspired by?  Two, to be exact.
I was inspired by the sweet vintage feel of the two bottom photo's.

Here's what I created:
Using printed papers from Authentique's Lovely collection, I cut hearts using Elizabeth Craft Designs Fitted Hearts and Scalloped Hearts.

I created a little pocket on the heart using some doily paper, where I could tuck some of the images I cut from the Authentique paper.

The sentiment is stamped using Elizabeth Craft Designs Love Sentiments.  I finished it off with a little die cut heart and button tied on with string.

I hope you enjoyed today's card and will be inspired to join in on the fun over at Double D Challenges.  Here's what you could win:

Dies R Us ~ Hearts, Love, Valentine

Good morning lovelies~  Today's card is for the new challenge starting over at Dies R Us Challenge blog.  The theme is "Hearts, Love, Valentine".
I pulled out some pretty printed papers and some of my favorite dies from Dies R Us, including Penny Black, Poppystamps and Elizabeth Craft Designs.

I started with Poppystamps Gentle Hearts die, which I cut through a panel of pink cardstock.  I then added printed paper and a strip of washi tape to the bottom and cut the panel using Elizabeth Craft Designs Stitched Rectangles.  I mounted that to printed paper on an A2 Sized card base.

I used the Penny Black Be My Valentine Postcard Script die to cut the words from red glitter paper.  The pretty heart border is Penny Black's Love Always.

You can find all the details and join in on the fun by clicking here.  You could be the next winner of a DRU Gift Certificate!

I wanted to remind you that we have some exciting news to share with you.  Dies R Us now has opened a sister store with warehouses in the USA and Canada called Didi Crafts

It will ship to both the US and Canada.  Didi Crafts will carry some of the same products as DRU, but most will be different.  Now our Canadian friends don't have to worry about huge taxes or shipping fees.
