12 Kits of Occasion ~ July

Hello friends~  I'm so sad to see July end because that means that summer is coming to a close here in the north east.  On the upside of that, the end of the month brings the gals from 12 Kits of Occasion together, as we post our projects using kits from our friends.
This month's kit was from one of the sweetest and kindest gals online, Marybeth Lopez of Marybeth's Time for Paper.  She is flawless in her card making designs and her kit was such a great representation of her sweet self.

Here's the cards I made using her kit:

Please let me just interject in here and say how cute are these little guys from Purple Onion Designs!!  That little mouse just had to take a snooze on the big leaf from the Fushcias.  I just couldn't resist!!

I was hoping to get more cards made but July has been a busy month for me and much of it has been spent outside enjoying the sunshine while it lasts.

Thanks Marybeth for such a fun-filled kit this month!
Be sure to visit the 12 Kits of Occasion blog to see how all the gals were inspired to use Marybeth's kit.  Please come back to visit me at the end of August as it's my turn to host and I have a special guest joining us.

Transformation Tuesday ~ Thanks A Bunch

Hello ~ I'm popping in with a card for Dawn's Transformation Tuesday over at the PTI blog.

Here's a picture of the original card I made using Quilted: Summer.

Though I like it's clean and simple design, I decided to jazz it up a bit using the Tag Sale: Quilted die and some raspberries from Beautiful Berries: Summer

I used colors from Color Throwdown

Inked Embossing Folders ~ Tupelo Designs

Hello friends~  I had a request to make some Get Well Soon cards so I decided to try the inked embossing folder technique using the ombre ink pads from Hero Arts that can be found at TupeloDesignsLLC.  You can find the entire line of ombre inks HERE and with FREE shipping on all orders with no minimum purchase, how could you not pick up a few of them?

The sentiments I used are retired from My Favorite Things but there are lots of great sentiments found in the store.  I stamped them on to Waffle Flower Nesting Rectangles.

I used this wonderfully detailed embossing folder from Ultimate Crafts called Bohemian Bazaar.

I inked up one side of the embossing folder using Butter to Orange Ombre Ink Pad by Hero Arts and then ran it through my die cutting machine with the embossing sandwich.  After removing the embossed panel, I turned the inkpad to alternate the colors and rubbed the ink gently over the raised portion to add more depth to the panel.

This card uses the Yellow to Orange Ombre Ink Pad

On these two cards, I embossed a piece of Shimmer Sheetz from my stash.  The detail shows up beautifully!  I added strips of Allton Decorative Glitter Tape to the top and bottom edges of the embossed panel. This tape comes in a rainbow of colors all in one package for less than $5.00!

Hello Cutie ~ TupeloDesignsLLC

Hello creative friends~
I'm up today with a shaker card for TupeloDesignsLLC using some sweet Lawn Fawn dies that I recieved recently.

I created the shaker box by cutting the ocean blue panel of cardstock using Lawn Fawn's Say Cheese, Again die and adhering a piece of clear acetate over the back, creating a window.  In the background I cut the water using Lawn Fawn Ocean Wave Border and added some Ocean Wave Accents.

I cut Lawn Fawn Palm Trees, which includes this funny little crab out of textured white cardstock and added color using Distress Inks in Candied Apple, Crushed Olive and Gathered Twigs.  I filled the window with several ocean colored sequins and seed beads and sealed it all us using Score-Tape.

The sentiment is stamped and die cut using Elizabeth Craft Designs Sentiments 2 ~ Because.

I'll be adding this card to Patti's pity linky party @ Stationery Styles ~ That's not funny!
Patti, I hope this card brings a smile to you face.

I hope you're inspired by todays project.

PTI Make-it Monday ~ Creating Stencils with Die Cuts

Hello ~ I'm popping in with a card I made for the PTI Make-It Monday Challenge.  Melissa showed us a great idea using dies to create stencils for our projects.
I started by creating a stencil using the Shape Shifters Oval Die.  I stenciled the leafy design onto a stitched oval cut from Noted: Scalloped A1 Die Collection and framed it onto a Mix & Mat Pretty Brackets Die.

I added flowers from Seasonal Borders: Summer and a sentiment from Bold & Beautiful stamp set.

All that was adhered to a pretty polka dotted aqua panel cut using Noted: Pinked A2 Vertical Die.  What a pretty technique!  I really enjoyed layering all the different shapes together and stenciling the design on the oval.

You can find all the details and join in on Melissa's fun challenge here.

Fairy Birthday Wishes

Today marks a new challenge over at the Dies R Us Challenge Blog and the theme is "Birthdays".

I've been enjoying the growing popularity of fairy's lately in my card making and by creating fairy gardens throughout our yard.

This card uses:
Elizabeth Craft Designs Mushrooms
Frantic Stamper Fairy & Flower
Frantic Stamper Stitched Grassy Hill Edgers
Memory Box Stitched Cloud Trio Lawn Fawn Watercolor Wishes Paper Pad
Distress Ink

Here's a picture of a fairy garden I discovered in my garden.
I left my weed bucket outside and found that the fairies must have moved in over night.

Fairies work incredibly fast!  They even filled the birdbath with water so they could wash up after a hard night of building and planting.
Now I just wish they'd help with the weeding.  ;0)

Be sure to visit the Dies R Us Challenge Blog to join in on the fun.  There's a gift  voucher to the store to the winner.

I Can't Imagine..... ~ TupeloDesignsLLC

Hello and Happy Thursday!  It's my day to post for TupeloDesignsLLC and today's card is one in a melon!!
Haha!  See what I did there?  Seriously though, this stamp set is called Melon Shower by Craft Consortium.  Isn't is darling??

As you can see in the photo, the stamp set comes on acetate that's already colored so you can use their color inspiration as a guide or get creative and color them up using your own imagination.
I stamped the images onto linen card stock and colored it using Copics then I cut the panel out using a stitched rectangle die.  The sentiment is from My Sentiments Exactly ~ Friendship.

The inside of the card reads:  "...in all the world a better friend than you!"  Sweet!  Right?

I added some watermelon colored tear drops that I had on hand because the color matched this project perfectly and the shape of them made me think of the shape of watermelon seeds.

I'm adding this card to the following challenges:
Word Art Wednesday ~ Anything Goes
Simon Says Monday Challenge ~ Summer Fun
4 Crafty Chicks ~ Life's A Picnic

I hope you're inspired by todays project.

SMILE :0)

Good morning friends~  I'm popping in with a card I made for a couple of challenges using some new dies I got recently from The Scrapping Cottage.  They seriously have the cutest dies ever!

I used Quackers & Quack and as you can see in the photo, there's two of the cutest ducks in this set.  The other duck is just waiting to bring a smile to someone's face.

Just look at that face!  Would this card make you smile, even if you were having a bad day?  It would me!

The sentiment is from Impression Obsession "Smile".  I did a little ink blending and stenciling in the background.

I'll be adding this to the following challenges:
Time Out Challenges ~ Smile
Word Art Wednesday ~ Anything Goes
The Sisterhood of Crafters ~ Favorite Color(s) ~ mine is sunshiny YELLOW!

Inspired By... Vintage Linens

I was so inspired by  the challenge going on over at Inspired By.
I love vintage linens.  There's just something about the colors, the patterns and the kitchy  designs that make my heart yearn for simpler times.
Inpsired by the colors in the inspiration photo, I turned to a few of my favorite vintage style stamp sets from Papertrey Ink.

Nostalgic Notions, Explore the 1940's and the strawberries from Still Life: Summer.

I added a metallic silver "fabulous" die cut and stamped the birthday greeting below.

And since I had this set out and hadn't loved it in a while, I created another card using these wonderful vintage stamps.

I hope you're inspired by these two cards today and hop on over to the Inspired By Challenge Blog to play along.
