12 Kits of Occasion ~ March

Happy day everyone!  It's the end of March so that means it's time to share the cards that I made using the 12 Kits of occasion.  This month our hostess was Lisa Elton and she put together a warm, spring filled kit to help get us all in spring mode.  Her kit is called "A Whimsical Garden" was such a delight and certainly lifted my spirits up, especially since as I'm typing this we got more snow throughout the night.   As I'm sitting here typing, I'm hoping that by the time this post goes live, the snow will be gone, the flowers will be budding and I'll be watching the grass turn green.  A girl can hope!

Let's start with this cutie patootie card!  Lisa sent two of these topiary bunny images in the kit.  I'm so in love with them and if you are too, you can find a complete list of supplies on the 12 Kits of Occasion blog.

Aren't they sweeeeet?????  The beautiful papers Lisa included in the kit were so lovely and just perfect for these cheerful little fella's.    Life IS beautiful, especially when you can drive around in your topiary VW bug with the top down!

Lisa's kit had lots of cute bunnies and for some reason this card took a bit of a vintage turn with lightly distressed edges.

Another one of those fluffy bunnies made an appearance on this card.

I've decided that I NEED a pair of these flowery wellies.  The Stitched Rain Boots are from Memory Box .  They paired perfectly with this fun sentiment that was in the kit.

And finally, my wish for you is that you're as happy as this froggie standing in the rain.

Be sure to visit the 12 Kits of Occasion blog to see how my talented teamies were inspired by Lisa's adorable kit and be especially sure to visit Lisa's personal blog for your chance to win this month's kit.  She's giving away not just one, but two kits!!!   Thanks Lisa for a darling kit!!!

Thanks for stopping by!

Spring "Two-fer"

Hello stamping friends ~ I have two cards for you today.  The first card was made for the Double D Challlenges "Gingham" challenge.  If there's one thing I love, that's gingham!  Ok, I love lot's more than just gingham but that one is pretty high on my list.

This sweet little bunny from Frantic Stamper is being teased by that dangling carrot which I had to hand draw.  Would you believe with all the stamps and dies I have in my craft room, I didn't have a small carrot.  I might have to do some shopping to rectify that.

Memory Box Half Dozen Eggs is a great set of nested egg dies.  There's a size for every need and the "Easter" die from Frantic Stamper goes perfectly with it.

My second card was inspired by my incredibly creative friend Marcia.  She recently posted a card she made using the "Ghosting" technique, which she showed us how to do last year when we were in Kansas.  I had forgotten all about that technique and was reminded how much I enjoyed it when I saw her card here.

I used a stencil from Elizabeth Craft Designs and Distress Oxide Ink to create the "ghosted" background.

I used Poppystamps Delicate Dogwoods and lightly colored the flowers with Copics.

This is the sentiment I used for the inside.  I'll be giving this card to my sister, but I bet you already guessed that.

I'll also be adding one of these cards to the following challenges.

I hope you are inspired by today's cards.

Celebrate Spring Tri-fold Card

Good morning and happy spring!  As I sit here typing, there is still snow on the ground and I just looked outside and guess what?  It's snowing!  I'm not going to let that get me down because I have spring in my heart and I'm celebrating it with this fun tri-fold card.
I used Art Impressions Celebrate Spring to make this interactive card.
I'll confess up front that I bought this set over a year ago and have just opened the package to use it.  I was a little intimidated by it but once I opened it and followed the instructions, it was surprisingly easy and quick!

Yes!  The little door opens and you get a peek inside.  But wait!  It gets even better.  Let me open the door a little wider so you can have a closer look.

Still with me?  Keep watching..

Yes!  The scene plays through the two front panels of the card into the back.  Here's a better look at the inside.

Is this little bunny cute or what??  I colored all the images with Prismacolor Premier Colored Pencils.

This is the inside.  Simple yet effective.

I'm still learning to color and blend with the pencils so please be kind.

Vintage Hummer ~ Dies R Us ~ One for the Ladies

Good morning stamplings~   There's a new challenge starting over at the Dies R Us Challenge blog and this week's theme is "One For The Ladies".
Here's my inspiration for you:
I'm dreaming of spring and the return of our little hummers so I pulled out Dee's Distinctively ~ Small Hummingbird.  I cut one out of green cardstock and one out of green glitter paper and made two hummers!

The little hummer was hungry after its long flight so I gave him some sweet nectar using Frantic Stamper ~ Lily of the Valley.

You can find all the details and join in on the fun here.
The winner will receive a gift card to Dies R Us.

Thanks for stopping by!

Perfectly Layered Japanese Mums

Good morning friends~ I recently signed up to receive Altenew's Build A Flower Monthly Subscription and my first set arrived last week.

They make the most beautiful layered flower stamps, it's hard to not add more than one, ok maybe two..... or three to your cart.  By joining the monthly kit program, I find that I don't over-indulge as I'm sometimes always prone to do.

My first kit included the Japanese Mum set.  This was very easy to line up and the images stamp beautifully!  Altenew's Mini Ink Cube Sets make it easy to build the color layers because the ink colors are already coordinated to give you lightest to darkest colors.

I found that the  County Fair printed paper from My Favorite Things matches the colors of the ink cubes perfectly!

I'm trying something new to me, so I've linked all the products below for your convenience.   By clicking on the links I'll receive a small percentage of the sale at no extra cost to you and I thank you for shopping along with me!

Vintage Botanical Birthday

Hello stamping friends ~ I'm still in vintage mode, trying to use up some printed papers that I've had sitting around for years.  I really think I'll never live long enough to use all the paper and supplies that I have, but it's fun trying!

I cut the 6x6 paper down to fit an A2 size card front and added a strip of green glitter tape from American Crafts to the cut edge.

The bird and floral bouquet are from one of the many Tim Holtz Ephemera Packs.  I'm in love with his ephemera packs!  They are filled with oodles and oodles of beautiful images all printed on cardstock so they have a nice, heavy weight to them.

The sentiment banner is cut and stamped using a PTI set.

I'll be adding this card to the following challenges:
Simon Says Monday Challenge ~ Vintage / Past Times
Word Art Wednesday ~ Anything Goes
Simon Says Wednesday ~ Anything Goes
