Super Cute Card for Twins!

Good morning friends ~ Today's card is super cute, celebrating the coming of twin boys.  I needed to make a card for a baby shower for our pastors daughter who was expecting twin boys.  She's since had them and they are identical.  I don't know how she can tell them apart.  But anyway, here's the card:
It was fun pulling out lots of older dies for this card, beginning with the Polaroid picture frame from Papertrey Ink.  This gave me a place to stamp the sentiment from My Favorite Things, which fit perfectly in that space.

Next up, the baby clothes which also are from My Favorite Things.  I'm sorry I don't remember the names of these sets, as they are truly super old and I don't have the original packaging anymore.  Aren't those overalls darling??

The Polaroid snapshot is mounted on a piece of kraft cardstock embossed using another older knitted embossing folder.

I'll be adding this card to the following challenges:

A Magical Day

Good morning friends ~ I thought I'd pop in and share this cute little dragon card I made recently for my great nephew's birthday.

I've been trying to pull out older sets that haven't seen ink in a while and give them some love, and this little dragon from My Favorite Things peeked out at me and wanted to play.

I stenciled the background using white pigment ink to make a bokeh affect and stamped a few star clusters.  The sentiment is heat embossed.  The dragon is colored with copics and is sitting atop some fluffy stitched clouds from Memory Box.

I hope you enjoyed this little blast from the past.
I'll be entering this card into the following challenges:

Birthday Balloons ~ Double D Challenge

Good morning friends~  Double D is starting a new challenge and the theme is "Birthday Balloons".

I'm always in need of masculine cards so I used this challenge as an opportunity to add one more masculine card to my stash.

I pulled out some older Papertrey Ink sets and the Balloon Cover Up from My Favorite Things.

Using my favorite colors of Distress Oxide Ink, I popped three of the balloons up with foam squares to add dimension.

Here's the inspiration photo to help get you started:

And here's the prize that will be sent to the winner of the random draw:

Pop on over to the Double D Challenge blog to see more inspiration and join in on the fun!

YOUR WORD ~ Mixed Media Monday

Hi friends~  I'm back today with an art journal entry I made in my Create Happiness Art Journal, using images from Mintay Papers.

I just love Mintay Papers.  In face, I've never met one that I didn't like and I doubt that I ever will.

I started by blending on lots of rich Distress Oxide Ink into the background and then spritzed it with water and blotted up the ink using a paper towel, to give it this nice mottled look.  I then stamped a typewriter background using a very old background stamp from My Favorite Things.  I used the Lower Case Modern Alphabet from Scrapbook.com to create the title, adding some white gel pen details.

I typed the rest of the verse out on my computer and printed it on my home printer.

I fussy cut the flowers and typewriter out by hand and sponged some Walnut Stain Distress Oxide Ink around the edges, and then added some details using a white gel pen.

I found this little scrap of paper in my scrap box and tore it from corner to corner to make a pocket, where I slipped in some ephemera bits from my stash.  I added this pretty vintage blue bird to the corner pocket.

I used a Create Happiness Borders stencil to stencil the border around the entire layout using black ink.

I hope you enjoyed todays journal entry as much as I enjoyed making it.

I'll be adding this project to the following challenges:

Retro Christmas Tags

Good morning friends~ I'm popping in today with some retro style Christmas tags I made using basic supplies from my stash.

The tag die is an old one from My Favorite Things, called Stitched Tag Stax.

Each tag is adorned with Stitched Banners from Elizabeth Craft Designs and a button card that I made using Papertrey Ink's Button Boutique.  A set that will never go out of style in my opinion.

The Santa and elf images are from Pretty Little Studio.  They have the most beautiful vintage and retro images there!

I cut the holly leaves out of printed scrapbooking paper and added little pre-made flowers to finish them off.

These tags turned out so fun!  I challenge you to dig into your stash and use what you have.
