Sending Hugs & Hello ~ The Flower Challenge

Hello friends~  I thought I'd pop in and share a couple of cards that I made that fit perfectly into the Flower Challenge to celebrate their 7th anniversary.

Gina K Lovely Notes and Peony Fantasy from Pinkfresh Studio share center stage on these two cards.

I had used PinkFresh Studio Peony Fantasy Hot Foil Plate and Gold Foil to create the flowers, adding color using the coordinating stencils and distress oxide inks.

The gold foiling adds a beautiful touch of elegance to these cards.  The darling birds from Gina K's Lovely Notes are just adorable, colored in coordinating colors using Copic Markers.  I added white gel pen details.

The sentiments are included in the Lovely Notes set, complete with coordinating dies.

Join in on the celebration at The Flower Challenge.
I'm also adding this card to the Word Art Wednesday Challenge ~ Anything Goes

I made this card last year using Fall Farmer's Market & Into The Bloom:  Pumpkin from Papertrey Ink, and never shared it.  So I thought it would be perfect to add to this challenge.

I added some chunky glitter to this magical white pumpkin.  YUMMY!!!

I hope you stop over to Double D Challenges to see some really cute Pumpkin cards made from my talented team mates and join in on the fun!

Sugar Is Sweet ~ ScrapbookPal

Hello friends!  Today's project is super sweet in every way, using products from Honeybee Stamps, that I found at ScrapbookPal.

Let me introduce you to Honey Bee Stamps Lovely Layers: Fall TreatsIf you have a sweet tooth, this set is for you!  This die set is filled with iconic candy shapes like Swedish Fish, Gummy Bears, Candy Corn, wrapped candies, jelly beans and more!

I started by cutting out several of the candy dies in soft, pastel colors that coordinated well together.  Some of the candies have two layers, so once I glued them together using Bearly Art Precision Liquid Glue, I went around the edge of each candy with coordinating Distress Oxide Ink using a blending sponge.

The dies have etched details, which give them a realistic look.  I also added some accents using a white gel pen.

Once the candies were done, I moved on to the card front.  I created a frame using the Honey Bee Stamps Fancy Fall Layering Frames by inlaying the large oval frame inside the large rectangle frame die.  I cut the frame out of warm yellow cardstock.  These dies have beautifully embossed details!

To enhance the details, I used a Ranger Ink Distress Brayer and rolled Mustard Seed Distress Oxide Ink over the top of the embossed frame.  This really made the details in the frame stand out.

I then started gluing the candies over the top of the frame in a random pattern, keeping a balance of colors around the frame.  I stamped the sentiments from Honey Bee Stamps Mini Messages: Sweets and adhered them using Scrapbook Adhesives Foam Squares to add dimension to the card.

This card sure made my mouth water!  It came out super sweet!

Here's a list of products I used that can be found at ScrapbookPal:

Pink October ~ Double D Challenges

Hello friends~ Happy October!  Did you know that October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month?  Double D Challenges is drawing your attention to this fact, by bringing you a "Pink October" challenge.

I reached deep into the recess' of my stamps to find these oldie but goodies stamps from MFT.
In Focus:
I wanted my card to be soft and light hearted, so I stamped this smiling face from Peachy Keen Stamps onto one of the pumpkins.  Isn't she adorable?

The background paper is from a Valentine's paper pack.  I enjoyed this challenge so much!  Who would think that you could use paper from a Valentine pack on a halloween card??

I can't think of anyone who hasn't been touched in some way by breast cancer,  whether it's you, someone you love or a dear friend.  Think PINK and show your support!  Visit Double D Challenges to see more pink inspiration and join in on the fun!

Here's the mood board to help inspire you:
