12 Kits of Occasion ~ January

Hello everyone! I'm so happy to say goodbye to the month of January.  We had so much snow and cold weather, I can only hope that February will be better.  Even if it isn't, we're still one month closer to spring!  This month's kit was put together by Jeanne Jachna and boy does she know how to make a great kit!  Everything in it was new to me and I just love the Asian flair of all the things she used.  Thanks so much Jeanne for an amazing kit!

We are also welcoming another talented new member to our team this month, Kara Pogreba from Bright Hope Creations.  I was blessed to meet Kara in Kansas last year.  She is kind and caring and is an amazing person.  She is stellar in her Copic coloring skills as well as her design skills and I'm super excited that she's joined us.  Welcome Kara!!

Now let's get on to the cards because I know that's why you're here.

This Chinese food take out box, chop sticks and fortune cookie are the cutest ever!  We have friends that we get together with and will quite often order Chinese take out with them, so this is the perfect card to send to them to let them know how special they are to us.

This cherry blossom paper reminded me of a very old stamp set I have from PTI called Out On A Limb so I stamped some flowers and berries to look like cherry blossoms.

These little guys from MFT just crack me up.  They're so cute!!  They take me back to when Christopher was a child taking karate.  He enjoyed the class but didn't like to yell his "KIY-Ya's". heehee!

I hope you'll hop on over to visit the 12 Kits of Occasion blog to see how my team mates were inspired to use Jeanne's great kit and don't forget to give Kara a warm welcome while you're there.  Jeanne also has a few talented guest designers this month so you won't want to miss a single post!

Toasty Pop-Ups

Good morning crafty friends~  I wanted to share with you, a couple of cards I made using these fun stamps & dies from Lawn Fawn.

Lawn Fawns Let's Toast Stampscoordinating dies and the Pull Tab Add On can't get any cuter!
This is the inside of that card.  I don't know about you but one of my favorite things to eat for breakfast is a slice of wheat toast with avocado and broccoli sprouts on top, sprinkled with a dash of salt and pepper.  YUM!!

I made these pop up cards to send to all my great little nieces and nephews for Valentine's Day.  Eeep!  Look at that little pop-tart... cinnamon, of course!  You can't really see it in the photo but I added Glossy Accents to the frosting so it shines like a real pop-tart.

this is the inside of that card.  Note the colored sprinkles.... Lawn Fawn thinks of everything!

And finally, this cute card with smiling toast and butter.  I have a love for the taste of melted butter... oh my!  The butter I use doesn't smile like this but it probably has a good laugh when it sticks to my hips and thighs.

I hope these cards give my great littles a happy day when they open them and know how much their great auntie loves them.

I also wanted to let you know that Scrapbook.com is having FREE SHIPPING over $60 until January 31st using code SHIP2019.  They're having lots of discounted sales right now and they're also giving away an Echo Park ephemera pack with every order.

Hoo's Birthday???

Frosty morning to y'all!  It's so cold here on the east coast and we've got another snow storm coming in this afternoon.  What's a girl to do but sit in her craft room and craft all day, right??
Actually, I have been in there very little and I've been bored to bits!  I've done two jigsaw puzzles on the dining room table because I just haven't had the motivation to do much else.  But I think I'm finally on the mend, if I could just get rid of the stuff in my head but I didn't come here to complain and you sure didn't come here to listen to me complain!  ;0)
There is something cozy about the inspiration over at the Inspired By Challenge.

Call me strange but I was warmed by the brown and black colors in their inspiration photo.  Here's where I went with:
I have a very warm blanket that's about the colors of this black and brown plaid paper.  I love snuggling under that blanket with my dog at my feet and my kitty on my lap.  It doesn't take long for me to get over heated by warmth and love.

I used Altenew Bold Alphabet Dies to cut the large letters out of the brown and black plaid design paper.  I've had this funny little owl in my stash for a long time and decided that it was time to use him.  I nested him on some die cut greens that have also been sitting along with this pine cone which fit perfectly over one of the "o's".

I stamped the Birthday portion using a stamp from Happy Little Stampers.  I'm not a very "punny" person but I think this turned out kind of cute.

I'll also be adding this card into the following challenges:

Dreaming of Spring

Hello ~ Are you keeping warm?  We woke up to 3 degrees this morning but the sun is shining today so it's all good.  We got lots of new snow the other day and now I'm looking forward to warmer temps so I can take my dog out snow shoeing through the woods out back of our house.

I have two cards for you today, both for two different challenges.  Using these flower stamps recently has me dreaming of spring.

The first card uses a beautiful stamp set from Spellbinders called Layered Rose.

I stamped the flowers using Altenew's Floral Cube Set and Warm Gray Cube Set.  The Altenew Mini Cube Sets are my "go-to" sets when stamping layered images.  The colors are all perfectly coordinated and I don't have to do too much thinking.    The sentiment is from PTI's Cheerful Heart set.

I'm adding this card to a new to me challenge, The Flower Challenge.  My friend Marcia joined in on this challenge recently and who doesn't love flowers??

The inspiration photo is totally inspiring, don't you think?

My next card was made for the PTI Make-It Monday Challenge.  My friend Michelle Leone hosted this week and inspired us to use our alphabet dies for this week's "Lotsa Letters" challenge.

I used PTI's Community Garden, Headline Alphabet and Pierced Feature Frames.

You can find all the details of this challenge here.

I'll also be adding one of these cards to the following challenges:

Spellbinders January Card Kit

Good morning friends~  I've got lots of cards for you today that I made using the Spellbinders January Card Kit.
This is my second card kit from them and I must say that I am so impressed by the amount of supplies you get for the price.  This card kit literally has everything you need to make so many amazing cards, including card bases, envelopes, die cuts, dies, stamps, embellishments and adhesives!!  I have 9 cards here but there are enough supplies to make so many more.  This is a picture heavy post so sit back with your favorite beverage and be inspired.

I should also tell you that while I was out running errands on Tuesday, I stopped by Goodwill and came across this set of "Thank You" cards with coordinating envelopes for $1.00.  They are good quality cards and I thought the designs were trendy and it would be easy enough to cover the thank you greeting.
So these are the card bases I used for all of my cards and  I have all the card bases from the kit still in my stash to use later.

The colors all went together so perfectly!

This card uses some of the glittery alphabet sticker letters that are included in the kit.

I used one of the many dies that are in the kit.  This typewriter is so fun and has a slit in the top so you can insert a stamped message.  The paper die is included too.

I thought this elephant was crazy cute blowing love all around!

I hope you're inspired by the cards I made using this kit.  You can find all the details on this kit as well as all the other kits that Spellbinders offers HERE.

All these cards will be sent to Cards for Little Hearts, an organization very near and dear to my heart.  They're having a collection of heart themed cards to help lift the spirit of children living with congenital heart disease.  The deadline is January 31st if you'd like to send some cards along.

Spellbinders Card Kit of the Month ~ December

Hello friends ~ I'm kick starting the year off with a new to me Spellbinders Card Kit of the month.  I've been looking for a card kit that included lots of quality products and this monthly kit from Spellbinders fit's the bill!

Each kit includes stamps, dies, designer paper, cardstock and enough supplies to create at least 10 cards (that's what they say) but I'll get a lot more than 10 cards out of this kit.

Eeeep!  Is this polar bear cute or what??  The kit came with a preprinted polar bear and a polar bear die to create you own.  I used the die on this card.

There were lots of sweet, pre-printed tags included in the kit, each with lovely copper foiling.

Everything you see on these cards was included in the kit!

If you're looking for a kit that includes everything you need, then check out the kits from Spellbinders.

They not only offer card kits but every kind of kit you can imagine.  Pluse they just started offering a foiling kit starting this month for those of you who like foiling or want to try it.
