Hello Birdie ~ Double D Challenges

Hello peeps.  There's a new challenge starting up over at Double D Challenges and the theme is "Birds".

I love feeding and watching the birds in our yard.  They play a big part of helping me get through the long, cold Maine winters.  I could sit in front of the window and watch them for hours.

Todays card is a tri-fold card, featuring this pretty bird from a pack of dies called "Meadow" from K and Company.

You may recall that I used some of the dies in a previous post (found HERE).  The artist is Susan Wingett, and I just love her work!

As I mentioned, this is a tri-fold card.  Here's the base that I started with.  It measures 5 1/2" x 9".  Both the left and right panels are scored at 2 1/4".

I built the left flap by out adding another panel of cardstock, covering each panel with beautiful papers from Stampin' Up!.  The sentiment is cut using Altenew's Versatile Greetings.

I cut the right side of the flap down to a 1" band that I covered with the designer paper and added this sweet little bird.

I also covered the inside of the left flap with more of the pretty papers.  The center has plenty of room for writing a message.

This was a fun card to make.  A little different from the norm.

Here's the inspiration photo to help you get started.

And here's the prize that's up for grabs when you play along:

Thanks for stopping by!

This is an amazing post! First your card with that sweet and so real looking bird. Then you used a great fun fold and most of all I loved the photography that you did. That song book is genius and really adds a lot to your post. I watch the birds here too. We have blue jays, and cardinals and wood peckers.

Gorgeous tri fold, Birgit. I love that the beautifully colored bird is the fold closure. Lovely eucalyptus paper. I can't get enough of it myself. The sparkle on the daffodils is the perfect touch!

Birgit, this is soooo beautiful! I love how you did the fold and placed the bird on the small flap. Gorgeous papers. Everything is combined perfectly What a treasure! I'm a Susan Winget fan and have one of her large canvas prints hanging in my stamp room. I feel the same about watching the birds at the feeders and baths. They're simply mesmerizing. Sometimes there's so much activity and different varieties.

I love that Stampin' Up paper, it's one of my favorites. I also love Susan Wingett and have many of her patterned papers. You have used both beautifully here, that bird is so sweet and your design is so lovely.

The papers you've used with that sweet little bird are marvelous! This is a wonderful card, Birgit. We hit 70 today (can you believe that... in February!) and that birds were singing their little hearts out. It was so uplifting!

Oh, what a beauty! Love everything about your card, from the lovely papers, to the gorgeous bird and the fun tri-fold. Thanks for the instructions. I sit and watch a few birds that come by every day. We have bluejays, a cardinal couple, a dove couple and a variety of the little brown birds. I must admit I don't know their names but they are fun to watch. We also have a number of squirrels that come steal food from our bird feeders. The little thieves are also fun to watch :-)
Have a blessed weekend.
Hugs,
Lena
