Color Hues Color Challenge ~ Pink & Aqua

Hello crafty friends~
I'm so forgetful!  Honestly, the older I get the more I forget.

I made this card using the colors from Color Hues that my sweet friend Marcia is hosting and I almost forgot to post it.

I used some sweets from Marianne Designs and cut them in pink and brown (as a neutral) and added them to this every popular postage die from Waffle Flower.

The tin canister is a die from Joy Crafts.  I was so pleased how these yummy chocolates filled the spaces.
There's still time to join this challenge using Pink and Aqua over at Color Hues.

A Heartfelt Cup of Cocoa ~ Double D Challenges

Hello friends ~ Double D Challenges is starting a new challenge today and the theme is "Heartfelt".

I went clean and simple with my card for this challenge, using Mugs & Kisses dies from Honeybee Stamps.

I sugared up the whipped topping and marshmallows with a bit of glitter for added sweetness.  The sentiment is stamped using the Hug In A Mug stamp set.

It's not very often that I go this CAS, but I like how it turned out.

Here's the fantastic mood board to help inspired you and you'll be further inspired when you visit the Double D Challenges blog to see more amazing designs from the fabulous design team.

Here's the prize that you could win when you play along:

Do you decorate for Valentine's day??  The colors on the inspiration board also inspired this little heart banner I made to put over my mantel this hear.  I just loved all the colors and patterns.

Here's a close up of the second banner I added to this arched frame.

Hope you'll play along.  Have a wonderful week!

A Box Of Chocolates

Hello friends ~ I enjoyed a craft day with some friends last week and one of them brought us all a heart shaped box of chocolates. Oh, so thoughtful and sweet of her!

I haven't been given a box of chocolate for Valentine's Day in many, many years so this was a real treat for me, and  I couldn't wait to do some thing crafty with it.

I started on my box that day with my friends, beginning with adding the crepe paper to the back side, ruffling it as I glued it on.  Pleat by pleat..... fold..... glue..... fold...... glue........ you get the idea.  ;0)  Then I cut around the crepe paper trim using pinking shears.  I added a lace heart shaped doily and traced out the top cover onto some vintage style scrapbook paper.  I also added some silver Stickles to the inside edge of the heart. I've had this darling Pierret printed and cut in my scrap box and it was time to use her.  She was the perfect size for the top of the box.  She also got a dose of glitter on her hat and pleats of her outfit, but it's hard to see in the photo's.

These stickers are ages old and I almost threw them away during one of my recent cleaning binges.  I'm so glad I didn't as the colors matched the background paper perfectly.  The button is an old button that I attached a button sticker to.  Part of the same sticker set.  Cleaning out is way over rated!

To finish it off, I added a trio of mulberry flowers from Really Reasonable Ribbon.

Since this is heavy in the pink and red department, I'll be adding this to the following challenges:

Happy Valentine crafting my friends!

Morning Coffee ~ Scrapbook Pal

Nothing hits the spot like a cup of hot coffee or two (or three) in the morning, except for drinking that coffee with a friend or family member.

I had a great time pulling out the Hug In A Mug Honey Cuts, coordinating Hug In A Mug Clear Stamps and Friendship Frame Stencils from Honeybee Stamps, to create this sweet floral card for my coffee-loving daughter.

I started by stenciling this flowery background using Friendship Florals Frame Stencils in soft pastel colors.

I die cut the coffee cup using the Hug In A Mug Honey Cuts, using a piece of floral printed paper that I found in my stash.  I cut the spoon out of silver mirror cardstock.  Using the Hug In A Mug Clear Stamps, I lightly stamped the heart image to the inside of the coffee cup using white ink.

I layered the coffee cup over a scalloped oval that I cut out of a piece of vellum and added the sentiment.

I love how springy and feminine this looks.  I hope it brings a smile to my daughter's heart.

You can find all these products and more at Scrapbook Pal.

Happy Valentine's Day! ~ Happy Heart Boxes

Happy Valentine's Day, friends!  Today is one of my favorite days of the year, and not because it's Valentine's Day.  It's because I gave birth to my daughter on Valentine's Day 29 years ago.  But my projects today are to celebrate Valentine's Day.

I made these cute heart shaped boxes using the Concord & 9th Happy Heart Box.

The first box is decorated using sweet Zesty Lemons from Lawn Fawn.  The "LOVE YOU" sentiment boxes are included in the Happy Heart Box die set.

Each box is filled with yummy Ferrero Rocher chocolates.

Next up is a black box that I decorated with Be Bold Blooms from Spellbinders.

I made multiples of these boxes to give to my daughter, my daughter-in-love and my mother-in-love.

These are the boxes I made for my hubby, son and son-in-love, using the dies that came with the Happy Heart Box set.

I thought I'd share pictures of my little sweeties as well; it's been a while since I've given an update.
Our little "C" is 5 months old now.  He's over 8 pounds and he's a happy little guy!  He's starting to learn to roll over and he has his first tooth bud.  DH and I get to babysit this little one tonight so his papa can take his momma out to dinner.  A much needed reprieve for both of them.

Sweet "P" is 2 months old and weighs over 11 pounds.  She's growing right on schedule!

I wish you and your family all the love and chocolates you can eat today!

Easter Basket W Large Handle ~Double D Challenge

Hello friends ~  Double D Challenges is starting a new challenge today and the theme is "Things with Handles".
....Interesting!

I confess that I picked out my die before looking at the mood board.

I asked myself, what types of things have handles, and the first thing that came to my mind was this Woven Basket Pop Up Easel die from Poppystamps.  I did all the inking in the background and on the basket using DOX inks.

I filled the basket with the grass and leaf dies that are included in the set and then I added this sweet bunny from Lil' Inkers Bunnies & Bows.  I added some clear stickles glitter glue to the berries.

The big bow on top  of the basket is also included in the Poppystamps basket die.

I enjoyed working with this die set so much!  You may recall me using it in this post here for Dies R Us.

I also went on to make another basket card, filling it with Christmas goodies.

I had some Christmas dies that I put together before Christmas, left over and they filled this basket perfectly!

Here's a photo of all three basket cards together:
